FYI...tomorrow represents an unique day for us. Everyone, including me, wanted to take the day off. All for different reasons, but the end result...we are closed tomorrow. You can send me an email, a text, or leave me a vmail. I will return it when I have a moment, but tomorrow should be about fun!! Sorry for any trouble this may cause you...but we all need to have fun sometime. Be here bright and early on June 11th.

We have a winner!!! Please join me in congratulating Cindy Miller and her dog Fender for being the recipient of the Free groom from the Paws for a Purpose Program. Fender, a Labradoodle, is her Son's Service dog and will be groomed for Free at his next visit.

But of course, the real winners here are the animals at the shelter. Because of you...our great clients...there was bags of food, dog bowls, blankets, toys, leashes, and some excellent cash donated. I am still waiting for the final tally, but each week the van left here loaded with your donations.

I have agreed to keep a donation jar for BRHS here on ongoing basis if you want to contribute.

Hi Gang...I think it is time to use our platform for good. Our local humane society is in need of donations...and I am going to help facilitate it.

So...Please bring by one item for donation...they need food, toys, blankets, leashes, etc...anything EXCEPT open food. For everyone who makes a donation, I will enter you into a raffle. The winner of the raffle gets a free grooming at your next appointment.

This will last the entire month of April and all proceeds go to benefit The Blue Ridge Humane Society.

~UPDATE~ The remains of the family’s missing cat has been recovered from the ashes of the fire today. RIP Fred 🐶 and Stumpy 🐈, rainbow bridge waits for you.

We are collecting any dog or cat related items you have to spare. A family in Mills River lost everything to a fire in the early hours of Monday morning. The couple affected by this are life long animal rescuers. Devastatingly, they lost one of their dogs to the fire. However 5 dogs remain and they need everything - beds, blankets, leashes, toys, coats. The pack is described as one large dog and four small breed dogs. They have two cats, though one is still missing.

Anything you have to give is appreciated and collected at The Refined Pup.

Hi Folks. Effective July 1st, stand alone nail trims will now be $15. It still includes clip and dremel. This will not effect your grooming fees for full or mini grooms since that is included in your price. The price has been $10 since I bought the place 5+ years ago and reflects the contrained nature of our time. I hope everyone understands.

Bitsy!

Adopted at 13 years old with dental and mobility issues, Bitsy has been swept up into loving arms during the golden years of her life. After dental work, a new diet, a grooming schedule and a whole lot of love Bitsy’s rehabilitation is a complete success.

Ivy 💕

Ivy has been groomed regularly since she was puppy and has always been very well behaved. Suddenly she became intolerant of grooming- out of nowhere!

That was our red flag 🚩

Sometimes, a sudden change in behavior could mean a trip to vet rule out any health problems. It appeared little Ivy had tweaked her hip or back while playing, after some rest and anti inflammatory medicine Ivy came back today as her usual loving self.

We’ll always do a health check on your dogs and let you know if we spot something. We so appreciate the action Ivy’s mom took! Everyone is much happier now 😍

It’s been three whole years since Spencer, Macy and Rinna joined us at the RP. These pups are all rescues and each have their own anxieties when it comes to grooming. Luckily their parents are regulars on the schedule and flex to accommodate their aging dogs needs. Consistency and care goes a long way!
