Good morning! Enjoy the rain and then the gorgeous rest of the day! 🏈
Yesterday was a day of spurts. Nothing for an hour or so, then people would come running through the doors all at once. It keeps us on our toes. We truly appreciate our three certified volunteers who go above and beyond for us. Thank you. Days like yesterday, we wouldn't have made it through some of the busy times without you. They hung in with us until well after closing with nothing but smiles on their faces for the wage of $0. We are extremely blessed by their caring hearts! Thank you Kathy, Jesus and Cherry.

A little after 3:30, you all came, AT once! Thank you to all of those who called or showed up during this time for your kindness.

Our numbers: TWO stray dogs in, ONE abandoned feline (owner surrender). We had TEN families use our community pantry. We had ONE kitten adoption, THREE dog adoptions and TWO dogs rescued. We had ONE dog owner reclaim, all because of a microchip!

Our biggest needs:
-Large and medium bags of dog food for community pantry
-Medium and large bags of ADULT cat food for pantry (completely out)
-Dog houses for upcoming winter for pantry members
-Rescue parvocide cleaner
-Sponsored adoptions

Our community and beyond are such givers. We often focus on the bad because we see a lot of it, but you all remind us how amazing 99 percent of people are. THANK YOU, for following our journey, our animals and helping along the way no matter how big or small. ❤️ Yesterday, you sponsored all adoptions with the exception of one of the 501c3 dogs. 💕

Today, we want to thank those who sacrifice by donating and sponsoring adoptions making days like today possible.

A brief story of hope. We love our community.

Today a woman came in and told us she had 200 lbs of dog food in her car to donate. She wasn't "well off" and frankly knows what it's like to struggle. In conversation she explained how she had budgeted for a bill she knew was going to be $300.00 and when it came in, it was only $90.00. Instead of buying things she needed or wanted, she thought of others and purchased four -50lb bags of dog food with the "extra money".

People like you are what makes our community so amazing. Thank you to each of you who sacrifice to help others and their pet families.

Candy the Red Heeler and Luka the Black Lab are ready for the best home ever! They certainly need it after being returned because they contracted flea dermatitis. These two have been given Nexgard's and their skin is already healing.

These two are around 7 months old and full of love, playful, smart and have been around children. They are ready for their forever home and NEED a family who will love them and keep them on flea /tick prevention.

Please come save their lives NOW. We are located at 319 Davidson Drive and are open 10 AM until 5 PM. Today only, their adoption is sponsored. They are not bonded and don't have to go with one another. These two have tested great with all other animals as well.

Merle 🤠

The most well behaved Staffy is still here. He will have to be adopted through our 501c3 partners. He is smart, well behaved and the PERFECT gentleman.

Merle does great with other dogs and knows basic commands. He is our current shelter favorite as he is the biggest LOVER.

He is fully grown and weighs 58 pounds. Please come and save his life now.

His adoption fee through our 501c3 partners is 100.00 but that includes his neuter, rabies vaccine, Proheart 6 shot and all initial vaccines AND a microchip! The application is a little longer, just because they want to make sure he is going to an extra amazing household.

Update

Laken

The most Handsome Boxer-Staffy mix is WAITING on YOU! This guy came in as a stray and no one ever reclaimed him. Laken is around a one year old year old boy with HIGH energy. He weighs 36 pounds and is fully grown. He is good on a leash and has never met a stranger. He loves everyone he meets. He can sit on command, but gets excited and wants scratches and loves.

Payne was DUMPED in the Bark Park. He is a Black Mouth Cur who LOVES life, loves other dogs and loves people. He didn't plan on being abandoned and forgotten by the ones who he gave his loyalty, but he was.

Payne's two girlfriends were also abandoned with him and are in the kennel next to him. Payne does great on a leash, soaks up attention and weighs 37 pounds and is FULL grown at around 2 years old. Can you please open a place in your heart and home for this good boy? If so, please come adopt him. All dog and cat adoptions are sponsored (except 501c3 dogs).

Okay, Garland County and BEYOND, come tomorrow to adopt, reclaim and visit! Due to some special people, tomorrow ALL dog and cat adoptions will be SPONSORED (only exceptions are dogs who must be adopted through our 501c3 partners)! Please remember sponsored isn't free for the lifetime of a pet, it means the adoption is free but, you will have to get additional vaccines for the lifetime of that animal. ALSO, tomorrow is SHOW us your library card day! If you show us your library card, you can get your furry friend microchipped during business hours for ONLY $15.00 👀. We want to thank our partners at the County Library letting us participate!

**What we need the most**
- Large bags of dog food and medium bags of dog food for our community pantry

- dog houses we can help people with in the community as the weather gets colder.
- Rescue brand cleaner (Amazon)
- Paper towels
- donations for our donation account which go to improvements like our play yard/meet and greet yard and other needed items for our facility.

Our numbers weren't what we wanted, but we know you've been waiting for tomorrow to come out and get your new furry best friend. Today we had: ONE stray dog intake, ONE cat adoption and TWO puppies adopted. We had NO adult dogs leave, nor did we clear a large kennel, in fact we filled our last one. 😭 We had NINE families use the pantry. ( We ran out of large bags of adult dog food with the exception of two bags.) Remember, this pantry is funded by you for people within your community help them keep their pet/human family together during hard times. It's not to be taken advantage of and we have every person who uses our pantry scan a code so we can see what their needs are, how many animals they have and if we can offer other assistance to them. Citizens of Garland County (within our service area with photo ID proof) can use our pantry once every 60 days.

Billie girl 🤓

This Hound/Rottie is such a good girl. She came in as a stray with big boy Butch. Butch was adopted last week leaving this bob-tailed, gorgeous, well behaved girl.

Billie is smart, knows basic commands, LOVES water. She loves other dogs and does great on a leash. She really loves people and is well mannered.

Please come adopt Billie girl NOW. We have had NO adoptions today and MUST have some leave.
