Did you know that peacocks are related to pheasants? They are in the same taxonomic family. And technically, only the males are peacocks. The females are peahens, and the babies are peachicks! Male peacocks don’t start growing their fancy tail feathers until about the age of three. These feathers are shed every year after mating season.
