🇺🇸🎉 What a fantastic day at the Fourth of July Parade in Houlton, Maine!

Houlton Humane Society was thrilled to roll through town with our festive float — and the real stars of the show were Freckles, Pongo, and Sport, three adorable puppies who soaked up all the love and attention! 🐶❤️

A big thank you to Don Dee and Lindsay Little for walking two of the pups and making sure they got plenty of parade snuggles. And a special shoutout to Nancy Carhart, who rode along on the float with our two amazing junior “pretend veterinarians” helping spread the message about the importance of spay and neuter.

From the wagging tails to the smiling faces, we felt the love all day long. Thank you, Houlton, for supporting local rescue and for always showing up for the animals.

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸🐾

Check out these three cuties...newest babies, ready for adoption. Dobby is full of energy, and just wants to go, go, go. Cherry and Berry are more on the shy side and will take some time warming up, we at the shelter have made progress with them, but being in a home environment is what they really need. 😊❤️

💥Hoping this rain passes by soon...cause we have a great menu of items that look so tasty. Chilli, cookies, cookies that are gluten free, brownies, these devine desserts pictured, and most of all loaded bake potatoes.

💜 A huge shoutout to Lea Marie, a former board member and held the position as treasurer, who had to drive over an hour and never missed the meeting or fundraiser. She has been a longtime supporter and still is. We put out a plea for help with our Midnight Madness fundraiser, and Lea answered in a big way — donating 50 pounds of potatoes to help us make it happen!

We’re so grateful for her continued support, even from miles away. Thank you, Lea, for always being part of our Houlton Humane Society family! 🐾🥔💫

Keep in mind we have a TON of kittens coming available (no date yet) ALL SORTS OF COLORS...if you want to get your applications in and approved so you are just waiting for the 'Release of them'...it's a good idea! They will go fast with how adorable they are!

Miss Peach...she is so beautiful...she has the most beautiful markings/coloring. She's a bit shy at first but warms up quickly. Waiting for her couch to lounge around on, or the cup of water to knock off the counter just because 😉🤣.
