🚨 VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED 🚨

Our shelter is completely packed with cats and dogs! Kennel staff is trying their best to accommodate all of our animals, but we are in desperate need of volunteers to help!

Volunteer duties include:
🧽 cleaning kennels
🧺 laundry
🥣 dishes
🎾 making enrichment for our animals
🐶 walking dogs

Our day starts at 7am, but any time is great! We have weekday and weekend hours available.

Please come support our kennel staff! Children 16 or younger need a parent or guardian present.
Please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty/wet and closed shoes!

Any amount of time is highly appreciated! ❤️

Everyone, meet: 💚GUNNAR💚 one of our New Kids here at ResQRev!

This sweet, doodle dude was surrendered a couple of weeks ago but has had a harder time settling in than most pups.
He’s sensitive.
And smart.
And smart, sensitive dogs sometimes don’t do well at first. 😔

He stopped eating, had some tummy issues and was pretty depressed.

I get it.
Who likes being broken up with? And being kicked out?
No one.

And while our first instinct would be to lavish him with tons of love and attention, I try to fight that… I just give him some space and a couple extra treats and let him settle in on his own time.

— I’m not an Animal Behaviorist, or have any training besides what I see every day, but I feel like this:
Each time we make a “bond” with an animal, and then we break that bond by rehoming or neglect, ect, it impacts their trust and self confidence.

So when we take in rescues to foster, we try to keep them at arms length. We DON’T want to treat them like this is their home… it’s not. Typically, they don’t sleep in our beds or have them pack around our personal dogs, because we don’t want to damage them emotionally any more than absolutely necessary.

When an especially sensitive pup comes in and is upset, we give him his space, and some time to understand their new situation. Might take a few days or even a couple of weeks but they DO start to feel better and smile again.

💚GUNNAR💚 is a very sweet, sensitive boy. He’s on the smaller doodle side, about 30 pounds, with gorgeous wiry, wash-n-wear hair. He’s been rehomed twice,in his 3 years, through no fault of his own. So the pressure is on to get this right, and find him a his FOREVER Home.

He’s a quiet boy, doesn’t bark or bother the other dogs. Housebroken, trustworthy, not destructive at all. Loves his bed and blanket, and doesn’t seem to mind cats. Likes to stay by my side instead of playing with the other dogs.

💙 He will make a great Best Friend! 💙

GUNNAR is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and on flea and heartworm prevention.

The shelter is at MAX capacity for dogs! There are more coming in than we have kennel space for.

What we need:

🐶 ADOPTERS: Please, come adopt your new best friend! Adoptions open kennel space. If you adopt one dog you save two lives: the one you adopted and the next to come into the shelter needing a kennel! 💓

🐶 FOSTERS: Fostering saves lives! We need people that have the space for a roommate! Fostering is not permanent placement, you would just help a dog get out of the shelter while simultaneously opening up kennel space. The shelter can give you whatever you need to foster! Kennels, food, toys, etc: WE HAVE IT! Please, consider opening your home to a homeless dog. 💓

✨ Canine Spotlight ✨

Meet Koomala! This extremely sweet little lady was relinquished to the shelter because her owner had too many dogs to care for. Now she is on the lookout 👀 for her new person!

Koomala is a 2 year old Lab mix and weighs 42 lbs. She loves running around in the grass and is great with other dogs. She has a wonderful personality and deserves all the love! ❤🐶

Koomala’s adoption fee is 5️⃣0️⃣ dollars. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.
