Is there anyone in the Galiano or surrounding areas that could hold a pitbull puppy until Monday that was found approximately three or four month old puppy? I need to know as soon as possible cause it’s gonna get hit by a car if I don’t go get it and I’m full. I really need help if at all possible you can go to the shelter on Monday. You don’t have to keep it past Monday.

Our shelter is completely packed with cats and dogs! Kennel staff is trying their best to accommodate all of our animals, but we are in desperate need of volunteers to help!
Volunteer duties include:
🧽 cleaning kennels
🧺 laundry
🥣 dishes
🎾 making enrichment for our animals
🐶 walking dogs
Our day starts at 7am, but any time is great! We have weekday and weekend hours available.
Please come support our kennel staff! Children 16 or younger need a parent or guardian present.
Please wear clothes you do not mind getting dirty/wet and closed shoes!
Any amount of time is highly appreciated! ❤️
To all the backyard breeders people who breed strictly for profit this is what I think you should have to do, I think breeders should be made to go to shelters on euthanasia day. They should be made to go get the dogs drag them to the Asia area. Pick them up. Put them on the table hold off for vain. Look into their eyes why they’re being killed take them down, put them in a trash bag and be thrown in the dumpster! over and over again, and if one day isn’t enough for them, make them go to several shelters every day! And make them watch the fear in these wonderful, loving, scared dogs and cats eyes when they wonder what is going on, and then if they can still breed after that, then they really are evil!

I have a friend in a desperate situation. She is actually losing her home and has to move out immediately. Her son owns this big beautiful lab and they cannot bring the dog in their small camper. She is large female dog reactive, but she gets along with small dogs, they cannot bring her to the shelter until the 30th of this month, they will have no other option to euthanize the dog today if someone is not willing to hold her until she can go to Shelter on the 30th would that be possible with anyone in the Houma Raceland and surrounding Thibodeaux area

When you brush out your dog please make sure you use a wire comb with medium and fine tooth comb. Go all the way to the skin and pull out. If you just brush from head towards tail then you can easily skim right over the knots starting to form at the base of the coat. Like the dog on this video the owner thought this dog had zero knots or mats. Well as you can hopefully see that was not the case. Only the top 2 inches wet not free but all the body was matted under that couple of inches from the nose to the tail. It is impossible to get the mats out withou shaving the dog under the mat and start fresh. Trying to de-mat a dog is painful and extremely time consuming! I will not demat a whole body. So I’m sorry. if you want a fluffy poodle or doodle mix, then do what’s required to maintain that coat! If you don’t get every knot out before bathing or swimming your pet will be worse with the knots getting tighter and more impossible to get out. Also if your dog doesn’t like to be brushed so you don’t fight with him to get him better but you want me to fight with him and get bit, well I’m not doing that either! Fluffy is not right for everyone so please do your part and brush your dog right from the tail towards the head, one the legs brush opposite of the way the coat grows so you can get the knots out before they get to bad to get out!
