Today is World Rabies Day, and it's a great reminder to keep our pets (and ourselves) safe from rabies—a preventable, but dangerous disease. Here is how you can help keep our pets and community safe!
💉 Make sure your pets are up to date on their rabies shots.
🦝 Avoid approaching or handling wild or stray animals, especially those acting strangely!
🐶 When you're outside, keep your pets on a leash and supervise them to minimize contact with unwanted animals
🦷 If you or your pet gets bitten, don’t wait. Get help right away and report the bite to your local health authorities.

Before becoming an Associate Veterinarian, Dr. Garcia Estrella gained valuable experience as a vet assistant in Miami, FL, and participated in wildlife medicine internships, contributing to organizations such as the South Florida Wildlife Center, the Jane Goodall Institute in the Congo, and WWF Indonesia.
