❤️🐶 Bella -
2/12 Owner Surrender | Staffie Mix | Female | 2Y | 68lbs | HW+
💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: I freaking love Bella. Any dog that shows me their belly is a heartbreaker, but Bella is a heartbreaker x10. She’s an owner surrender and definitely feeling it. She was in her kennel and as all of the dogs around her were standing at the front, barking and wagging, she was on her bed with her belly up. It was SOOOOOOO CUUUUTE!!!!! As I stepped inside she showed her belly even more and wagged her tail so hard. I got close to her and she army crawled to me, letting me leash her but taking quite a while to gain the confidence to start walking. We went outside where she was such a Velcro dog. She wouldn’t leave my side. I’d step back and try to take a pic of her and she’d plaster herself right back against my legs again. She’s such a love. She did ok on her temp test with another playful dog, offering some nervous tail wags but was often a little too scared to get close. It all seemed like insecurity and lack of confidence to me, so if she can make it out of here I could see her opening up to dogs way more. She might be one who will need some crate training just because of how much she adores people, but all of her staff notes indicate she’s been silent and perfect in her kennel. I absolutely love her!
📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
2/14 Approaching kennel, Bella was in the back of her kennel pressed to the wall. I opened the door and began to baby talk her, her tail started to slowly wag. With baby talk she slowly came forward but pancaked at the front of her kennel. I then slowly entered kennel and scooted her forward, she then stood up and began to follow me as I baby talked her. She walked well and slowly. While outside, she began to wag her tail more and kept looking up at me. I squatted down and she then came to sit closer to me. She looked at me with a soft look and began to paw at my hand. Bella was seeking affection, I then began to pet her and she leaned into me. She did really well with pets and also began to lick my face and hands. Coming back inside, she froze for a bit and then began to crawl with her body close to the ground. I had to baby talk her to her kennel. Approaching her kennel, she panacked outside so I had to scoot her in.
2/17 When I approached her kennel, Bella was laying down in her Kuranda bed. I leashed her and she walked on a loose leash with her tail tucked until we got outside. Once outside, she was walking very slowly, occasionally pancaking, but when I baby talked to her she would start walking again. She frequently walked in front of me and pressed her body against my legs. When walking back inside, she walked on a loose leash without stopping. Throughout the day, Bella was usually napping in her Kuranda bed when I walked by.
2/24 Removing adopt eval due to improved behavior. Quietly lying on her bed in the AM until it was her time to be walked, loose leash and quiet out in the runs. Walked back with loose leash as well and was lying on her bed throughout the rest of cleaning. Once I placed her rope toy in her kennel she stretched neck without getting up to grab the toy and pull it onto her bed with her.
