The founder, Jessica Nicely Onken, began her journey in dog training at the age of 8 under the guidance of her father, a former K9 officer who left the police department to follow his passion for training police dogs and officers. This was not possible 3 months ago. I'm so proud of how hard they worked in making the changes I said and sticking with her. No more meds, can got to the vet without meds AND had her 1st dog wash at the wash your own dog place!

Trainers in scent detection, especially in the sport scent detection talk of behavior chains, backward chaining, etc. However, thresholds are the links that create the "chain." We will cover thresholds from basic terms to how they are gauged and ever-changing. Additionally how to recognize and handle common threshold issues and some of the myths and misunderstandings involving them No matter if you do sport, narcotics, bomb, cadaver, SAR anyone in detection will not want to miss this!

I cannot share this enough I cannot discuss genetics and innate ability enough. I cannot explain the fact that “No you will not have a trained dog in a handful of months …. Especially if it’s not an extremely talented dog in the first place!” Time is money …. And training takes time. There absolutely will be hiccups …, absolutely…. Whether it’s from the dog being behind, or struggling with a task, or struggling with handling things like force fetch etc…. And most of all ….. just because the money is spent it absolutely does not mean it’s done and over …. It’s the job of the owner to continue this work

Next week I will be doing a video, IDK if live or not on my YouTube channel about the significance that parasites and gut health in general have when it comes to a dogs behavior. Unfortunately, even veterinarians overlook this fact and decide to medicate with things like Fluoxitine, Trazadone etc instead of addressing the parasite that showed up on the tests. In the last 2 years I have sent 4 dogs to their vet for a fecal and blood draw as their behaviors were too irregular for it to just be behavioral and I suspected that the dog had an intestinal parasite. I have been right all 4 times. Once the parasite was treated, the dogs behavior changed significantly and in some the behaviors stopped all together. This is important to owners, trainers, walkers, boarders, groomers anyone in the realm of canine.
