Fur A Pawsitive Future

Fur A Pawsitive Future We focus on TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) in the Northside Village (77009) area of Houston, Texas. We aim to continue our work independently as a non-profit.

We also rescue stray, friendly, abandoned cats and whenever possible we help community cats with medical needs. We focus on Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) in the Northside Village area of Houston, zip code 77009. Over the course of 2 years we have spayed and neutered over 450 cats through sponsored spay/neuter programs. We also seek to care for sick and injured feral cats. We also fundraise to try and transport healthy, friendly street cats out of the Houston area and on to good homes.

While trying to relocate a colony of 25+ cats — which we posted about yesterday (we're still looking for outdoor homes) —we also trapped last evening at a new colony. Securing a few kittens and sent these 5 kiddos off to the clinic to stop the homeless pet crisis in Houston.

We need help to find outdoor homes (backyards or barn homes) for several cats that remain behind at this housing property in Houston. The property is vacant and no one is there to feed these cats any longer. Management is attempting to trap and relocate the cats, which is a near death sentence without following the right relocation methods.

Some raccoons are already trapped for relocation.

Please share and network. They have given us about a week to make arrangements for the cats. The alternatives are not very nice to put it mildly.

We did a lot of work here with the cats for over a year and this is not the end we expected. So we need your help to share. Thank you!

Venus & Serena are not tennis players, they are larger than life tennis balls 🥰 They are looking to adopt a local Houston family. Venus (mom) is a professional biscuit maker and doesn't shy away from the hard task of biscuit making -- she's at it 24/7. Serena (daughter) is quite happy to sit around and watch her mom at her job and live off her passive income.

We need your help to spread the word and share so this bonded mom (Venus) and daughter (Serena) can find their forever home. With every cat that passes through our group, there is a story. This is their story...

We rescued Venus & Serena earlier this year from a not-so-good situation. When we found them, Venus was pregnant and Serena had 4 kittens. We worked that part out. Then we were hoping to send Venus & Serena on transport out of Houston, but on the two occasions Serena has been separated from Venus she's had a seizure 😢, talk about being bonded! She's a perfectly healthy cat otherwise and they both get along well with other cats. They love to snuggle together and regardless of the size of the space, they will find each other and take comfort in each other's presence.

They were clearly not this chonky when we found them, but we've taken good care of them. Please reach out to us via our social media channels or email [email protected] if you are interested in these sweet girls and we can set things up for their adoption. There are possibilities for out of state transport so please reach out to us at [email protected] to discuss.

They are both spayed and up-to-date on all shots and flea prevention. Combo negative too.

We love these two and will definitely miss them, but we know their person(s) is out there. Please help us spread the word to find Venus & Serena their forever home.

The other day we scooped up some black and white kiddos from the street, well today their mom gets squared away. And this chubby cheeks dude is getting sorted too.

We still have our final fundraiser for the year going to cover one months TNR expenses.

Thanks all! 😻

A few weeks ago we were working on this colony of cats where they also have dogs. Thanks to our dog rescue buddies Danna Kaye Fullen and Diana Moreland , they arranged for all the dogs to be spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped at the last The Empty Shelter Project-Texas . And to top it off, thanks to Houston PetSet for these great dog houses, these babies have cool little houses now. We all got together to set it up for them! The village comes through every time ❤️🫂

Thank you to Cole & Marmalade for sharing this transformation of Miko! She is surely one lucky cat and thanks to Save A Purrfect Cat Rescue for taking on the challenge and doing the hardest part of getting her back to good health ❤️😻🥰 It takes a village!

When cat rescuers were alerted to a HUGE feral cat colony in Houston, TX, they joined forces to help. It was September of 2023 when the staff at Fur A Pawsitive Future, Space City Cats and other local advocates learned of the massive colony. They initially estimated over 200 cats were doing their be...
