This is my first basset, Elmer, and we've had some issues with training, but now that he's about 10 months old, I can see that the love and snuggles he gives make all the hard work worthwhile!!!

You came to me as a little spitfire, full of attitude and stubbornness. Little did I know what i was getting myself into. I had wanted a basset hound since I was a small child, and now I finally had one. 😀
My goal was simple, give you the best life possible and share you with the world. I loved how you could turn the grumpiest person's frown upside down. Your antics and attitude were your major calling cards along w your obvious good looks and fantastic ears and wrinkles.
I was truly blessed for you to have chosen me as your dad. I will never forget all our epic adventures, walks, hikes, parties , celebrations, and milestones.
You got me through a lot of great years, extremely tough times, and no matter what , always made me smile.
It hasn't quite kicked in yet that I won't hear the click clack of your nails after u get up late , coming down the hall. That I won't be greeted by your drool art getting home from the gym. That we won't tuck each other in at night . I have never cried so many tears in my life upon your passing, but I made a promise to you long ago that I would NEVER let you be in any pain. You let me know when it was time, and I will always cherish our memories.
You will always be my son, 1 of a kind , and my little bubba 💙. Hope you are resting easy, having all the treats and playing w Theo and Mom.

Little Gumbo (Phineas) and Gizmo (Rosie) went to their new families yesterday! Gizmo preferred the lap and Gumbo was already living up to the basset hound ability to sleep in such weird positions and odd places. 😂 You are always in our hearts Gizmo and Gumbo! ❤❤

Please send good thoughts Fred’s way, he seems okay, drinking ok, but is throwing up his dry food, we have a Vet appointment this afternoon, Not sure if he got into something outside? He’s always putting things into his mouth, typical Basset, my boy can sleep anywhere. Thanks to all👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
