Update! He’s being cared for in a loving home, and seems to have found his twin! 🐾♥️🐾

One of my dog walkers found this dog on the side of the road near 10th street. Took him to vet and no chip. If anyone recognizes this dog, or can help, please let me know.

Valentine’s Day…a time to celebrate our loves. This can also be quite a painful day as we remember ones we’ve lost. Our little Mikey, aka ‘Michael the Great’ passed away in December and the grief has been heartbreakingly awful. Living without his constant companionship and adjusting to life without him, his charming smiles, his quirky antics, the scattering sound of his paws on the floor as he maneuvered himself around the house.. all the belly band changes, the meds given every few hours…it’s a whole new way of life. Our routine was abruptly disrupted. Lucy Goo friends of ours who have lost fur babies, too, please believe us when we tell you we share your tears, your grief, your heartache. Today, if you are missing someone, too, know you are not alone. Love to you all.

Back by overwhelming demand – it’s the 5th Annual Poorly Drawn Pets! 🎉 Our enthusiastic volunteers are standing by, excited to transform your beloved pets into unique works of art—or, at the very least, bring a smile to your face!

Here’s the deal: If you donate $30 to the animals at the shelter, we’ll draw your pet. But be warned! We’re a whole lot better at caring for animals than we are at drawing them. You *might* get one of our super-talented artists, but odds are, it'll be a charmingly amateur creation.

Our shelter cares for around 10,000 animals every year, and we rely on donations to make that work possible, but it doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while we raise those funds!

Simply click the Donate button on this post and submit $30 per photo. Once you’ve paid, comment below with the photo of your pet. Our team will then work their ‘magic’ and reply with a picture of your homemade masterpiece as soon as we can.
