Chocolate might be the perfect treat for a human’s sweet tooth, but it can be harmful to dogs.

Why? The ingredient theobromine (a bitter-tasting alkaloid found in cocoa and chocolate) plus caffeine are metabolized slowly in dogs which allows toxic build up in their systems. While the severity depends on the size of the pet and the amount consumed, it’s best to avoid chocolate altogether.

"One recipe we love is a vet-approved “pup-quito”.

INGREDIENTS:
1 large sweet potatoes, cooked
1/2 pound of ground beef
1/2 bell pepper, diced
1/2 zucchini, diced

Ensure all items are fully cooked and avoid using seasonings like garlic and onions, which can be harmful to pets. Then using the sweet potato as a taco “shell” stuff the other ingredients inside and watch your pooch lick their lips in delight!"
