📝 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬: Two-year-old 𝐒𝐓𝐘𝐗 was picked up and brought to BARC on 7/17/2024. According to 𝐒𝐓𝐘𝐗's notes, he's been super tense. He hangs out in the back of the kennel, looking nervous with whale eyes and lip licking. They had to use a long leash to lasso him because he was growling. Once they got the leash on, he walked out with his tail tucked in, and they used a hook to remove the leash. Another time, he was sitting pressed against the back wall of the kennel, really tense and flinching. They lassoed him with a long leash again, and he walked out with his tail tucked and ears back, keeping his distance. He did loosen up a bit and wagged his tail when he saw his sister, Cinnamon, outside, but he's still very tense around people.

Unfortunately, BARC has placed 𝐒𝐓𝐘𝐗 on the euthanasia list because of his behavior: (Stressed in kennel, growling and cowering in kennel.) 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐃𝐈𝐄!!!

Please consider opening your heart to 𝐒𝐓𝐘𝐗 and give him the patience, love, stability, a real home, family, and the attention that he really deserves. Pointer lover? Boxer lover? This gorgeous gal is the best of both worlds ❤️ 𝐏𝐄𝐁𝐁𝐋𝐄 has found herself at BARC two times now, once in 2021, and again on 7/18. She was adopted in 2021 and has only been at BARC a few days, her owners could be looking for her!

📝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬:
1/30/2021 BEHAVIOR NOTE: When approaching kennel dog held a neutral body, ears and swaying tail. I took her to the photo room for a picture and she kept a neutral body as she responded to hot dogs very well.

1/31/2021 DOG TO DOG: Pebble greeted me at the kennel door with neutral body and face with a slow wagging tail. I leashed her, and she walked out with a bounce in her step. Pebble met A1738612, and as she approached 612, she sniffed her rear while holding a loose and wiggly body. A1738612 turned to greet her and they sniffed noses and Pebble sniffed her rear again keeping a loose body. This is where we ended the interaction. Pebble walked back on a loose leash and went into her kennel with a treat trail.

2/9/2021 DOG TO DOG: Pebble was loose and wiggly in the kennel, she walked out on a loose leash, took treats from my hand and walked back into her kennel with ease. She is quiet in her kennel and keeps it clean.

7/18/2024 INTAKE: loose dogs

7/17/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel dog was at the front of the kennel as i leash her she moved side to side, she would flinch as the leash touche her. As we walked outside she would walk infront of me then stop

7/18/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching run, Krissy held a slightly forward body, muscle tension, and back ears as I got closer with babytalk. I offered some treats as I opened the gate door and she began to back up airsniffing me. I slowly got inside of the run in which she stayed in the front corner with a tucked tail and whale eyes as I slowly leashed her. Noticed her flinch and I placed as well as removed leash. Later in the day, I see her gnawing at her raw hide (extra enrichment) as her kennel is partially covered.

7/19/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Approaching kennel, dog had dilated eyes and a tense body. I opened the door and lassoed the leash on her. She walked out with tense body and raised hackles. On the leash she walked loosely. Placed her in runs. In runs, she kept running away and avoiding leash. Another act had to come and help.

▶️𝐒𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀:7/20/24: Hello, Maverick’s owner was in a car accident and totaled their car. Maverick was riding in the car at the time. The owner decided to sign Maverick over to the shelter. Maverick is a very friendly boy-see short attached video. He is heartworm negative but has dermatitis and GI issues-see notes below. Please let us know if you can help Maverick, he will be in danger on 7-22-24. Thanks!

📝 𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬:

𝐌𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 greets staff with a wagging tail, lets them leash him, and walks on a semi loose leash. This guy has been at the shelter since 6/30 and is ready to get out of there. 𝐌𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 needs somewhere to decompress after being at the noisy shelter. We don’t know his past, but we can change his future.

𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 consider opening your heart and home to 𝐌𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊 and give him the love, care, stability, a real home, a real family, and the attention that he really deserves. Please share this post so that the right person sees it and please pledge, if you are able, using the link in this post, so that rescues have the funds they need to continue their important work.

📝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬:

7/15/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Maverick has been painting in kennel overnight . In the am his kennel is covered with p**p. He stands at the front of the kennel with fast wagging tail and heavy panting. Placing on Adopt Eval 07/15/24 13:49

7/18/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Maverick greets me at the kennel door with a soft wagging tail. He lets me leash him and walks Simi loosely out to the potty yards. When he returns he went a laid down on his cot and only got up when a person was passing by. He can get vocal when the dogs around him get vocal. I noticed when his neighbor echo gets to barking he gets to barking.

7/14/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Walked on a semi foward leash, sniffed around outside, didnt take treats.

7/17/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Georgia was placed in the kennel as a move adopt yesterday. Wanted to try and give a 24 hr calm down but dogs behavior has not since improved. Placing on Adopt eval . Dog is panting heavily stressed and continues to vocalize in kennel along with nonstop jumping up and looking over to neighbor dogs. Keeps looking over at Gabe in SA23 causing him to react and bark back at him. I had him covered but he keeps tearing down his cover. 07/17/24 14:06

7/19/2024 BEHAVIOR NOTE: Georgio is very vocal when i approached his kennel. He has painted his walls and cage door during the night. He walked to the potty yard and back on a tight leash. When i put him back in he kept jumping on the side of his kennel and barking at gabe and his other neighbor. After putting up blankets he pulls them into his kennel.
