Princess was dropped off at the vet this morning however, she did not have her surgery as anticipated. We received an estimate prior to today's appointment and were going off of that estimate but when the vet examined her more today prior to putting her under, they realized her teeth were in worse shape than anticipated. Because of this, our estimate went from the high end at $591 to up to almost $1,400. We do not have that and have thus, decided to post pone surgery for another date.

Our vet is willing to work with us to help Princess. If we can raise at least half for now, we can get this girl into surgery. If you or anyone you know able to contribute to this girl, please consider a donation. This senior still has a very bright future ahead, she just needs her community to ensure she gets her happily ever after.

Tomorrow morning, senior girl Princess is scheduled for surgery. She will be receiving a spay and dental. At the end of this month, she will be leaving for a new beginning, a forever home with her new family. After losing her mom, Princess was left in limbo but now, thanks to our community, her happily everyafter has come at the age of 14yrs old. Now I know donations have slowed, they have slowed for my fellow rescuers as well which makes our job that much tougher. But we are asking you to help ensure her dream comes true.

I have attached our estimate for Princess for tomorrow's surgery. Anything that can be contributed would be greatly appreciated. Princess deserves her chance. Our seniors deserve the world. We stand behind them, and we need our community to continue to stand behind us.

Courtesy Post

Two dogs, Rex and Tom are looking for forever homes. Both dogs are located in the Valley region of Texas. Both dogs are former strays, picked up off the streets by individuals trying to do the right thing. Both dogs are safe but are looking for forever homes and have been for months. Rex was initially taken in by our rescue however upon further discussion with the finder turned foster, it was determined that it was not actually going to be feasible with the distance.

In a perfect world, we would have them closer however we have 0 open, long term foster homes for large dogs. Post after post has been made, across multiple platforms for months and it has resulted in 0 open foster homes for large dogs beyond short stays which don't get me wrong, emergency stay fosters are valuable but it's short term and we already have one senior in boarding. This is the situation and it's only getting worse across the rescue community, but I digress.

Rex and Tom are in separate homes and both have been vetted, are friendly with other dogs, unsure about cats. I am happy to pass on their people's information if you believe you can provide them a home. And don't worry, neither dog is getting put back on the streets, they are safe but need homes. If a rescue organization in the Valley would like to support, I would be happy to help facilitate.

Happy Monday everyone! This week, Princess will be getting a dental and spay on Thursday as she prepares to leave us for her forever home at the end of this month. Donations have once again slowed down which I can understand being that the holiday season just ended. But your support is needed in order for us to continue our work. While there are ways to try and cut costs, what we do is expensive nonetheless, an example being that just since January 1st, we have spent just under $600 in vet care alone. That is just since the start of the year.

We cannot do this without your support. We have dogs that could have so easily fallen through the cracks. Senior dogs who despite having so much love to give, go unwanted simply due to their age. They sit waiting but as long as they wait, we will remain by their side. Please consider a donation and support Princess as she prepares for her new life. She is 14yrs old and is getting a second chance because of our supporters.

It's $6 Senior Friday!

As we step into this new year, donations have slowed, but the needs of our rescues remain steady. Senior and special needs dogs rely on the love and support of people like you to get the second chances they deserve.

Even $6 can make a huge difference. Whether it's a warm bed, medical care, or simply a full belly, your contributions go directly to ensuring our rescues have everything they need.

We can't do this alone. Your support keeps us going and allows us to continue saving lives. Please consider donating today—every amount helps. Thank you for being their lifeline.

Some of our sweet rescues have been with us for over a year, patiently waiting for their happily-ever-after. Each dog in our care holds a special place in our hearts, but every spot filled means another senior in need is left waiting.

Adopting one of our dogs doesn’t just change their life—it creates space for us to save another soul in need. We offer out-of-state adoptions too, so no matter where you are, you could be the perfect match for one of our amazing seniors.

Today, we will say goodbye to Hazel at 10am this morning. Surrounded by love and compassion, she will pass peacefully with her foster parents by her side, just as they’ve been since the day she came into our care. Hazel’s journey began on the streets, but thanks to a kind Samaritan, she was given a second chance—one filled with warmth, safety, and endless love.

Losses like these are incredibly hard, but they are the reality of senior rescue. Hazel wasn’t with us for long, but her impact is immeasurable, and her memory will forever remain in our hearts.

If you’re able, please consider donating to help cover Hazel’s final expenses, estimated at $430, anything at all helps. Thank you, Hazel, for letting us love you. We will never forget you.

This weekend has been a whirlwind, filled with moments of love, loss, gratitude, and hope.

First, an update on Hazel. After careful thought and consideration, it was decided to give her the weekend to ensure we had done absolutely everything possible for her. Sadly, there have been no significant changes, and tomorrow morning at 9:30 AM, we will be letting her cross over peacefully, surrounded by love. The estimated cost for her final care is $430, and if you’re able, please consider a donation in her honor. Hazel deserves all the love in the world as she takes her final journey.

Next, a more joyful update! We welcomed a beautiful senior girl from the Bellaire Pound, and in a turn of fate, she became an instant foster fail—just like Admiral months ago. Her foster knew instantly that Willa was home. From a stray to finding her forever family, we could not be happier for this sweet girl.

We also received an incredible donation of food from Anastasia Malavansos, who has been tirelessly fundraising for rescues like ours for over 15 years. Her generosity will go a long way in caring for our dogs, and it was heartwarming to see other rescues benefit from her kindness as well. A huge thank you also goes out to our volunteer, Mariella, who gave up part of her Saturday to pick up this donation. Volunteers are the backbone of our rescue, and we are endlessly grateful for their dedication.

Lastly, we welcomed a new recruit into our rescue family—Rex the Belgian Malinois! This handsome, sweet, and incredibly smart boy was found as a stray, but thanks to his finder-turned-foster, he’s been given a safe place to rest until he finds his forever home. He’ll be available soon, so stay tuned!

It takes a village to do what we do, and every moment—whether filled with tears, joy, or gratitude—reminds us how lucky we are to have your support. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Update
Hazel is still at the vet. The vet wants to ensure that nothing more can be done. But it is looking like we will have to say goodbye. The estimate is $430. Remember you can donate directly to the vet as well!

It's $6 Senior Friday and we would like to dedicate this one to our sweet Hazel who has an important vet appointment this morning at 9:30am today. Last week while at the vet for a cough, a large mass was discovered in her stomach which is so large that it is pushing into her chest cavity and causing issues such as a persistent cough. For Hazel, treatment has not been recommended as it can potentially do more harm than good. She was sent home with her foster and has since transitioned to hospice. It has been over a week and according to her foster, these past few days Hazel has been declining more and more.

She is no longer wanting to eat, is sleeping most of the day, and starting to show signs of pain. With this morning's appointment, we are going to decide where we go from here. If the vet believes we can treat the symptoms and continue to keep her comfortable we will but if she is ready to go, we will let her. Knowing this, we would greatly benefit from your support. Hazel would benefit from our 632 family and that is you.

We were quoted $430 for euthanasia at our vet Pet Clinic on Belfort if Hazel decides she is ready to go and if not, support is still needed for today's visit. Please consider anything for this beautiful girl as we remain by her side until the very end.

Hazel has a vet appointment tomorrow morning for 9:30am because her foster mom informed me this morning that for the past few days, Hazel has stopped wanting to eat and is sleeping most of the day now. She is also beginning to show signs of discomfort despite medications prescribed to manage her pain and increased dosages. Last Monday, Hazel saw the vet again due to a persistent cough. To our surprise and absolute, utter dismay we find out during the appointment that she has a large mass in her stomach that is now pressing into her chest cavity which is contributing to her cough and beginning to cause breathing issues. This is why we could not get rid of her cough.

It has been determined she is not a candidate for surgery and per our vet, does not believe treatment will do much for her at this point, in her particular case. Hazel went home with her foster that appointment and with her foster she will remain. We don't know what tomorrow will bring. If we are able to treat her most immediate concerns and keep her comfortable, we will but if she is ready to go, we will let her. Decisions like these are not taken lightly but as always, we will put the senior first and let Hazel guide us. Her foster parents as well as all of us, are devasted. This is not how we envisioned 2025 would start.

Hazel needs all our support. Any donation received would be greatly appreciated for this beautiful girl. If she decides she is ready to leave us, the estimate we have been given is $430 which includes cremation and ashes returned. Every senior comes home in the end. If we are granted more time, a donation is still appreciated to help us cover the visit. We recently switched vets to Pet Clinic on Belfort as we now receive a rescue discount, but vet visits still cost and remain our largest expense. Please consider a donation for Hazel, for this senior, family member, and best friend.

As we step into the new year, we can’t help but think of our incredible rescues, Raven and Tiny, who have been with us for over a year now, patiently waiting for their forever homes. We had hoped they’d start 2025 surrounded by their own families, but their wait continues.

Every rescue deserves their happy ending, and maybe you are the missing piece to their story. We do offer out-of-state adoptions as well, so no matter where you are, these special souls could be your new best friend. Visit our website to learn more: www.632caninerescue.org

If adoption isn’t an option, please consider a donation. Every dollar helps us continue our mission of saving and caring for senior and special needs dogs. Your support truly means the world and thank you for being part of our village.

Happy New Year from all of us at 632 Canine Rescue. This will be our fourth year in rescue, and I can't wait to see what the year has in store. Here's to 2025 and another year of loving and saving senior, special needs, and dogs in hospice. Also, a goal has been made. Jack made it to see 2025 and he is still going at the beautiful age of 18yrs old. He is the last of our original senior pack. I did not know if he would make it to see this day, but I am grateful he did and will continue to cherish ever moment.

As we say goodbye to this year and welcome a fresh start, why not make it extra special by giving Princess her forever home?

Princess is a sweet 14-year-old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix who still has the playful energy of a puppy. She loves belly rubs, butt scratches, and curling up on the couch with her favorite human. She’s potty trained, gets along with dogs of all sizes, and cats however she just avoids them. At night, she insists on sleeping in bed with you.

After losing her original owner, Princess deserves a loving home where she can enjoy her golden years surrounded by love and care. Start the new year with love, joy, and a furry best friend. Visit our website to learn more about Princess and how you can make her part of your family.
