Sometimes you just know when it's meant to be, such is the case of Admiral. This handsome boy came to us from the Bellaire pound after being abandoned in his home, left to fend for himself after his mother was evicted and her son took Admiral's doggie brother and sadly left him. In one fell swoop, Admiral lost everything at the age of 10yrs old. But then, something amazing happened; an amazing someone happened, and his name is Tom. Widowed this year and a senior himself, Tom stepped up to foster and as fate would have it, quickly became a foster failure.
A hole was left in this human senior's heart, in both their hearts and together, I think they are going to be okay. Tom is a wonderful gentleman with a heart of gold, and I think everyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him would say the same. We went through the process and it's clear there is already a connection. Admiral follows Tom, looks for Tom, rests beside Tom. This senior boy is home and we will be here for both, as we are now a part of this journey for life.
Special thank you to the Bellaire pound, particularly it's volunteers. What amazing work they do for those in need. Special thank you to those who supported and continue to support our rescue efforts. If anyone is seeking to get their donation back, please let me know and if not, it will be used for current/future dogs. The need is great, and it never ends but we keep fighting for the Admiral's of the world.

Exciting News: Stumpy Has Found His Forever Home!

We’re thrilled to announce that Stumpy’s adoption trial went great, and this sweet guy has officially found his forever home! He now has a doggie sister and two adorable human siblings to share his new life with. It sounds like there are some fun adventures in store for Stumpy, and we couldn’t be happier for him.

Welcome Admiral to 632 Canine Rescue!

We have a new senior in our program named Admiral, who came to us from the Bellaire City Pound, a fully outdoor, unmanned facility. After a mental health eviction of a senior citizen, Admiral, at 10 years old and Heartworm positive, was left behind while his companion was taken by the owner’s son. Poor Admiral had everything ripped away from him in one day and was left alone in a hot cement pound.

We urgently need your support to help Admiral. He’s received vaccinations, but he needs to see a vet to fully understand his health. Any donation is appreciated!

A huge thank you to Tom, who offered his home to foster Admiral before we even had him. Fosters are crucial to our mission—having fosters lined up often makes it possible for us to say yes to more dogs in need.

Help Us Support Raven! Senior & Special Needs! Houston, TX

Raven has been in boarding since April, costing us $32 daily due to losing her foster home. As a senior and special needs dog, Raven is deaf and needs to be the only pet in the home. She was abandoned outside an ER last year by her former owner but has proven to be a true survivor.

Raven has yet to receive an application, and without a foster or forever home, she remains in boarding. Please consider donating to help with her care!

We're thrilled to announce that Stumpy is going on an adoption trial! Fingers crossed this leads to his forever home. However, Stumpy is currently living with his 2 siblings who are still awaiting their forever homes, so an open foster home won't be available if he's adopted.

Did you know that we offer out of state adoptions? The fee for out of state adoptions is now $250 to help cover transport costs, and we make no profit from these fees. Unfortunately, here in Texas, we are overrun with animals in need, so we've opened up our adoptions to out of state. If you're looking to add to your family but are not located in Texas, no worries! We Need Fosters!

Foster homes are crucial if we ever hope to save more lives. We are looking for both long- and short-term fosters to help care for senior and special needs dogs. Every day, new dogs need our help, and only with open foster homes can we rescue them. We currently have dogs in our program, including seniors and puppies, in need of new fosters. We provide all necessary supplies and vet care; you just need to provide the loving environment! Please fill out an application—our dogs need you!

I have been a foster since our inception, and I can tell you how rewarding it is. It requires some work and patience, but fostering has changed me for the better, and I am forever grateful for these dogs.

At 16 years old, Twinkle and I completed an agility course at the dog show this past weekend. We might have set a record for the slowest time, but she did it! I'm so proud of her. Our light, our boy, Dan, has finally come home to rest. Dan is home where he belongs. We never did find him a forever home but in truth, he was already home. In the year I cared for him, he showed me what it meant to never give up and how incredible it is to live. I think I speak for most when I say I have not always been happy with my life. Whether it be struggling to find my purpose or attempting to get myself out of a tough situation. Life it difficult and it can drain the happiness from even the strongest individuals.
But Dan, this happy boy was just that, happy. He lived every day with a smile, it's how he woke up. I used to question it some days in fact, wondering if he knew he was sick, if he knew he was paralyzed, if he knew he had just used the restroom on himself. If he did in fact know, why in the world was he still so happy? But overtime I realized that not only alive, but in a home therefore why wouldn't he be happy.
Sure, he was paralyzed for a time, but he was still moving. He had a progressive illness but for a long time, he was doing okay. Sure, he would go to the bathroom on himself daily, but he knew I would be there with wipes, a towel, and a "you are still my bestest boy." He knew he was loved and safe. In the end, he fought to be able to do everything any other dog his age could do, just slightly different. But that's okay because none of us our perfect and neither was he and I would not have changed him for the world.
I challenge you to try and find a reason to smile today, to be more like Dan. You'll be better for it, at least that's how Dan lived.

Raven Needs Your Help! Senior & Special Needs Female

I'm once again making a plea on behalf of our senior and special needs girl, Raven. She's been with us since the end of last year and is the only dog we've had that has received zero real interest. Abandoned outside of an ER, Raven initially found a foster home, but it didn't work out. Since April, she's been in boarding, costing us $32 per day. Raven is senior, deaf, and must be the only pet in the home. Despite these challenges, she’s a sweet girl who just needs a chance. Is there anyone willing to step up for this girl??

It is with great sadness that I announce that our beautiful boy Dan has passed away. It was an honor to love him and to be loved by him. He was beautiful and funny and whimsical and soulful all the time, all at once. Never did he allow his health to completely rob him of his happiness and remained a fighter till his very last breath.
I hope he is running around, chasing stuffies and chomping on sticks right now. I hope he remembers me and enjoyed our time together. I hope I was able to give him a good life. I never was able to place him in a forever home, but I am more than happy to call him family. He was part of my misfit crew, a band of old and disabled dogs led by a woman who remembers what it felt like to be the outcast.

Until we meet again, our relationship continues..

Dan has been with us for just shy of a year, coming to us from Harris County Animal Control as a senior with special needs, including Kidney and Heartworm disease. Despite his hind limb paralysis, Dan has defied all odds to walk and even run again. His journey has been remarkable, surviving longer than anyone expected thanks to his spirit and your support.

As I have mentioned before recently, Dan has been declining. His favorite toy, his stick now collects dust, his mobility is regressing, and he's been experiencing more health issues. I’ve been his primary caretaker, never missing a single day with my boy and my heart is breaking to see him slowing down more and more. Once a voracious eater to no longer finishing his food. He is vomiting more and more and despite keeping him on the same schedule, is pooping all over the house now daily. We will be headed to the vet again with this guy. He needs your support now more than ever.

This Saturday we went to Natural Pawz with Petunia's litter in the hopes for finding forever homes. No applications but the pups had a blast. Petunia and her babies are doing well. Momma is content and babies are happy. To think that just a short time ago, Petunia was a stray on the streets pregnant with another litter. This was taken yesterday morning of my boy Dan, using his hind legs, running to me. I took this in a moment when I was feeling very discouraged. These past few days have been difficult, and I haven't felt my best. Everything feels like a blur, and I am tired. Dan is trying a new medication for his UTI that is lingering, Bobo's condition is somehow getting worse despite being on multiple medications, and Bobo and Twinkle are currently with me because their foster backed out. More dogs are in need, and I am only one person. I try my best, every day, giving everything of myself that I can and the need never stops. Rescuers are beyond exhausted. But we get up every day for moments like this one. Dan, a senior with all the odds stacked against hm, is using his back legs. He is running on his own, something we didn't think was possible. It's been 3 months of working with him every day, cleaning him every day, multiple vet trips, and treatments. We give ourselves to the animals we care for so that they may have a better life, but it leaves us tired because the crisis is too great to take a break. When does it end? When will the day come when we can go onto our socials and not see dozens of new animals in need. When will the day come when shelters aren't consistently overrun, and rescuers aren't having to beg and plead for assistance? I embarked on this journey a few years ago and to be completely honest, I did not know at the time that it would be this difficult. But I stuck around for the dogs I call family. I have sacrificed more than I thought I would, and I know that I am not alone in this, many rescuers could tell you the same. I am one person, one rescue, fighting a battle bigger than us all. We have been knocked down more times than I can count but we keep getting back up, exhausted but we keep moving forward because society has left us no choice. The dog that was told would most likely never walk again is using his hind end and has feeling!! It's been 3 months of never missing a single day to practice walking/playing and it's paying off. This senior boy is continuing to beat the odds! *He does have a chair and we will be posting content soon! Bobo's foster sent this to me. Bobo is a senior with a Grade 4 heart murmur. He is part of a bonded pair and will be seeing the vet along with his senior partner. So far we have raised $50 total for the visit. That's it. I know that everyone loves when an animal is rescued because it is wonderful thing. But it's not like these things just happen.
