This sweet girl actually loves a good brushing out but has a few things to say about a beard trim. She is attached to her hairy identity plus she is not content to just take a simple drink of water but sticks her face in and swishes that lovely beard all around in her large water bowl. I am not sure I am ready to tackle the spiky top knot. It’s too charming.

Birth announcement!!! We have a beautiful (or handsome) new litter of doodle pups. We were out doing some rock climbing last night when we got word that puppies were arriving, so this litter of mostly boys are being named after mountains and mountain ranges. :) Meet Denali (blue collar and siblings)

Cedar is our F1 goldendoodle sweetheart. She has such a happy and playful personality and loves to have something to carry around. She reminds me of my long ago kindergarten days but with a canine twist of ‘show and tell’. She can find the oddest objects on our property. Her good buddy Apollo went out with her for a drive to the nearby lake. Yeah! Lots of water.

Morning times are precious moments of outdoor activities here. We aim to beat the heat. Here is Sunny and her mom Savannah taking a little break. The first thing Sunny does each morningis to start patrolling the property with her nose glued to the ground. She seems to feel it’s important to cover every foot of ground. Since we live in the country, we do have night time visitors of the forest and field communities sort so maybe she is just making sure all the nighttime visitors have vacated the premises. After she is sure all is clear, she figures it’s safe to ‘play ball’. Meanwhile mom has been busy locating yesterday’s abandoned and hidden tennis balls to be ready for a good time playing ball and playing keep away.
At the magic moment, all is done and they sit by the front door to remind me how much they love air conditioning…and snacks.

‘The Art of Listening’
One of the first and easiest thing we teach our pups, is to sit and pay attention. High value soft treats work great initially. We start with a hand motion so we make sure and teach them to get their eyes on us. Later we add a verbal cue. I use ‘watch me’ and ‘sit’. These 3 standard pups were such bright students.

Here is beautiful Lexi. She is a granddaughter of Lucy, my granddaughter Valorie’s service dog. Here she is trying to see where her buddy ,Dinah the cat, is hiding. Lexi was the brains of her litter and was always the first in anything new. She never gave any other pup a chance to take the lead.
One request I do get frequently, is people wondering if I have a puppy available just like the one they met while out, or like their friend has. Because we are small, that’s where a waiting list comes in handy. In Lexi’s case, she was a standout in personality.

New puppies just love being the center of attention in their own homey place. Getting used to new home can take a few minutes😀. Little doodles just love kids and that is what matters most. They have a lot puppy learning to do. Having fun can sometimes over ride the need to pay attention but they do love to please and learn. They are very ‘treat’ and ‘praise’ oriented and good listeners. Little ‘Addie’ is taking her job of charming her new family, with all her waking moments.

This is one of my favorite baby doodle pics. I can’t remember what got her attention that day but she has such a calm, inquisitive demeanor . Something caught her eye. We do live in an area with lots of birds that fascinate little ears and eyes.

The days of a mini doodle would not be nearly as complete without a tennis ball. Of course, a pool is a plus! Marley Mae is one of Savannah’s puppies all grown up! Mini doodles possess such a spirit of fun and humor. In spite of small size, they have a double dose of the great doodle personality. Thank you Lauren for sending the pics.

If it’s a bundle of fun and love you are looking for, Pixie is storing it all up for you! She might be a mini doodle but she is big on love! She is doing well in her puppy training and officially did her first ‘outdoor business’ this morning, graduating from the litter box and
no accidents in the house. We are so proud of her.

The days are warming up and it looks about time for this handsome fella to get his summer clip. Amazon delivered my new clipper blades and I promptly misplaced them. So these beautiful red curls have a little bit of a reprieve for the time being. This guy is a water lover and oddly enough, he likes to smell the roses.

This little angel is going to meet her new family tomorrow and has promised to bring a lot of joy to her new home. We will miss her but her new family is so excited. We have exchanged many texts getting things all ready. She has her special smelly litter blanket and her favorite squeaky purple duck and her mom’s treasured tennis ball all securely in her bag. I think she would like to sneak Pixie into the car when they leave. When there are just two pups in the litter, they get so attached. I think I will have to have my tissue box ready tomorrow.

Yes! Pixie is just a few days away from her 2 month birthday but she’s already feeling like a big girl. She aced her vet check up and got quite a few oohs and aahs and wore out her little tail with all the wags. She didn’t even seem to notice getting her vaccine but the vet was so gentle and her voice seemed to mesmerize Pixies little puppy heart. At this age, everything is fun and exciting. Our garden has attracted so many butterflies this year and the puppies have also discovered they are fun to chase.

I put my grandson to work setting up the puppy puzzle with little bits of chicken. The pups seemed to have it figured out in advance however. I will have to think ‘ more advanced’ next time.

We had a mini photo shoot of our two minis. In the first pic, I felt like red Bindi was expressing her distain for having to pose I remember my own kids starting to mess up family photos at about 8or 9 years old with funny faces.
Little doodles can either have the serious look of their poodle heritage or have the little smile of their Golden Retriever side. My heart warmed when I saw the little smile on Pixie’s face. I love it. They had just had their first little play time in the grass and wildflowers and were pretty worn out. It’s a big big world for two almost 7 week old pups!

This little one has an overload of cuteness. Her tail wag is also quite a spectacle. The grandkids were over to visit today and completely wore her out .She is going to be ready to go in a few short weeks in case you look around your home and can imagine this little girl skittering happily across your floor, let us know.

Annie with Costa, all ready for Spring showers. A little bit of history, Costa's mom was Lucy, my Granddaughter Valorie's service dog. Annie just graduated Nursing school and apparently she helped her get through stressful times.

This is an older picture of dear sweet Ollie and Indie at the beach. It is such a great picture of doodle friendships. Older doodles can also be pretty good about teaching a new addition good manners and helping them figure out the household. And....beach trips in the summer never grow old.

Missing anything? A walk in the garden can be so relaxing and fun, watching the younger generation enjoying the cooler evening hours of play. That is, until I noticed the sweet and innocent pups were having a great game of keep away with something resembling my new headband. Well it's a good thing I bought two.
