We've still got plenty of hot days ahead so we are sharing this reminder.
Over the past couple weeks we've seen an increase in heat stroke patients and want to urge everyone to stay vigilant with these 90 & 100 degree days. Especially for brachycephalic (short nose) and older dogs.
Summer is officially here and so is the heat.
-Please do not keep your pet's outside for extended periods of time as this could lead to heat stroke and can be fatal.
-For what time they do spend outside, make sure they have a large shaded area and plenty of water.
-Brachycephalic (short nosed) dogs are even more susceptible to heat stroke and should be kept inside during the hottest part of the day.
We understand accidents happen, so below are some tips on what to do if you suspect your dog is experiencing heat stroke.
