FUReedom Living was busy this 4th of July week🎆🇺🇸
Plenty of gatos, puppers, and a few fish, we were able to give love and attention to each furbebe. And to think this isn’t even all the kiddos we cared for! The team kicked major butt and so glad for their support! 💪
We hope everyone had a great holiday and made/will make it home safe to their happy & healthy furbebe 🏠🐾

Houston, we are deeply saddened by the news that this handsome old man (21 years!) crossed 🌈 bridge. Pepe, he was such a character. I remember meeting him at the old hospital I worked at. So spicy 😅 🌶️
His growls and hisses meant business! But what was crazy was that once he finish his exams or treatment, he would calm down and ask for pets. The older he got, the harder it was to see as he started to lose his vision and hearing. But regardless of those senses going away, he would always use his sniffer to find any food he could eat. His old meows and his spicy attitude is something that we will miss dearly. But we know that he now gets to be with his fur-mama. Fly high, Pepe 🪽 and give Ellen a big hug for us.

Attention, Houston!
We are making a few changes that will be applied to clients’ invoices as we are doing what is best for our team members’ time & effort while caring for our FUReedom Living FURamily & FURiends.
One of the major changes is adding a Holiday Fee. This will allow us to compensate our team members for the time they are giving to care for our client’s furbebes during these busy & special days.
Another major change is adding a Last Minute Booking Fee. When requesting for our services, we want to ensure that our team is being compensated for their time as they may have other obligations to tend to (whether they’re visiting other clients or personal matters). Doing this will be fair for the team as they have to make sudden changes to their schedules.
We will still continue to not add any “Cancellation Fee” as we understand life happens and it is easier to remove bookings rather than finding coverage to book last minute services.

Houston, we have some heartbreaking news 🌈 Sweet Penny, has recently made her way to rainbow bridge. Although she was one of our newest kids we started caring for, the team has already grown attached to such a sweet old gal.

This young white-tailed fawn is on the mend after arriving dehydrated and emaciated. Now she’s gaining strength every day and getting the specialized care she needs. This time of year, late spring through early summer, is peak season for white-tailed fawns. It’s common to see them curled up alone in tall grass or brush while their mothers forage nearby.

If you come across a fawn alone in the wild, remember that it’s normal for mothers to leave their babies hidden while they forage. If the fawn is standing, wandering, crying out, or appears injured, that’s when it’s time to step in.

Call our Wildlife Center at 713-861-9453 before taking any action. We’re here to help, and knowing when to intervene can make all the difference.

You will be able to download our pet sitting software app. With this app, it will allow you to communicate with your assigned sitter, receive photo / video updates, track walks, and so much more…all in one convenient app! We have officially hit June! You know what that means?! The temps will only get hotter 🔥🥵☀️be sure to keep your furbebes hydrated. Need to go on walks? Keep them short so that their little paws don’t burn or overheat! Also, avoid walking during high temp peak hours. If possible, with pets that need to let some energy out, give them plenty of indoor playtime or stay in shaded areas.

CATurday night snuggle-fest! All the gatos have gotten plenty of love this Memorial Day weekend 💕
We are so happy that we get to spend time with these kiddos during this honorable holiday! But not only are FURamilies traveling for the holiday, it’s also the month and time of graduation! Here at FUReedom Living, we want to say thank you to those who made the ultimate sacrifice of serving our country, along with congratulating those who are moving onto the next chapter of their life after graduating.
