Happy Labor Day weekend, houston! We’ve had a busy morning so far! But ending our morning with some old lady kitty cuddles. Tenshi got to meet some of the other kiddos we care for….and she had a BLAST! We hope that everyone will still have a fun and safe break even though it is gloomy ☔️ outside!
Today is August 28th. And on this day, some may or may not know, but it is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. On this day, we honor the lives of our furbabies that passed away. We use this day to reflect on the bond we as pet parents had with our furry companions. So just remember, for those who had a pet that passed away, just know some angels choose fur instead of wings. 🌈🐾

Baxter has been boarding at the FUReedom Living Bungalow! With our household of 6 gatos 🐱, seems like he turned into a gato himself as he just hangs out on top of our couches 😂🤪
He’s also made friends with our senior pupper ambassador, Buddy, and our CEO, Tenshi the border collie
Happy National Dog Day! Today is a special day because we wanted to announce our new CEO, Tenshi (means angel in Japanese—she has an adorable “halo” marking on top of her head). She is our 8 week old border collie pup and we are so excited to have her meet n greet all the kiddos we care for, meet our amazing hooman clients, and most importantly, get to grow up with our hooman child on the way. We were both heartbroken & devastated when it hit us knowing that our sweet late CEO, Sushi, couldn’t meet our precious baby once he was going to be born. It also felt empty without having a doggo in the house. We made the crazy decision to get a pup even though we are expecting our newborn in November. Call us crazy, but we love both fur kids and hooman kids 🤪
Tenshi has already met some of our closest friends and family, along with a handful of other fur kids. We are working on potty training, which has been going beautifully, learned SIT & DOWN, and already attempting to run through cat tunnels like the agility dog she is. We are so excited for all the future outings that we will get to experience with this new furbebes in our life 🥰 and can’t wait to share more adventures with y’all.
Titan, Miss Kitty, Riley, Luna, Coco, Rosey, and Louis Vuitton & Saint Laurent all say good morning houston! It’s Friday eve! Just recently, he was playing outside with his owner when he slipped and completely tore his right ACL and partially tore his left ACL, which is now costing mom lots of money in order to receive a TPLO surgery. Of course any amount donated helps and mom will be FURever grateful! His first scheduled surgery is Aug 19th! We pray that King’s surgery will go smoothly and pray for a speedy recovery ❤️🩹 let’s do what we can to help the owner get her happy, active, and silly boy back! 🫶

We had an early morning start today with some gatos & puppers!
Both kitty cat households have pets that are on regular scheduled medications 💊, while our puppy friends need medication as needed if in pain. As y’all know, we do specialize in medically needed attention kiddos, and are more than happy to go above and beyond with any type of administration. Oral tablet or liquid, SubQ fluids, drops for ears, applying ointments, or even tube feeding? You name it and we can do it! We want to ensure all kiddos, those who need medical care or not, will get the best treatment and love from our team.

The team will do our best to send updates to owners each visit. This week, we had quite a few kiddos to love on! With each visit, they will receive their walk / potty break / litter scooping, requested meal, and of course playtime or cuddle time.

We got playful puppies. And hungry doggos. A self walking doggo. And even more playful doggos. We even have doggos who KO in every car ride before and after their adventure to the beach! At FUReedom Living, there’s always something the furbebes will be doing. They get their routine care of mealtime, walk/potty break, medication administration (if needed), and of course getting lots of love, treats, pets, and so much more!

Nice to meet y’all! I’m Isabelle (aka Izzy). And in the last two photos is my amazing and hardworking man, Karl. I am the owner of FUReedom Living Pet Sitting Service. I’m just your PURRfessional nose booping, treat giving, totally down to cuddle and nap with the furbebes pet sitter. The FUReedom Living Team and I are based in Houston and serve all the bebes—big, small, young, old, long haired, short haired, feathered, scaly, and everything else in between. The services we provide are sleepovers, drop in visits, boarding, dog walking, basic grooming, and pet taxi. Karl and I currently have six gatos who live in our bungalow rent free…and we are expecting a little two legged furless bebe (aka a hooman child) November 2024. The team has been nothing but helpful during this experience and been insanely supportive. We hope y’all enjoy some of the cute and funny shenanigans that we get to experience with each and every furbebe we care for.
We got a packed summer full of our canine buddies! Plenty of walks, playtime, and even cuddle/chill time. We hope everyone is staying cool and hydrated…along with getting their power back post-hurricane Beryl!

As of now, we currently have 4 boarders who were booked before Beryl struck (and were temporarily housed at another client’s home where Karl was pet/house sitting). We are now able to temporarily house an additional 2 to 3 SMALL to MEDIUM sized (40 lb and smaller) dogs for those affected by the storm.

While most cats have 18 toes, some felines have some extra ones. These cats are referred as polydactyls, which is due to a genetic mutation
Our boarders are doing pretty well! They’re enjoying some outdoor playtime and cool AC! Karl was booked to house sit at a client’s and fortunately we were able to bring our boarders to said client’s house as the FUReedom Living bungalow is still out of commission due to no power. We hope everyone will receive power soon! Let’s work together to become a stronger, more resilient city 💪

Sure I may be getting older so I can’t see or hear as well, but plenty of other kiddos are not like me where they can sleep peacefully without any care in the world. Some kiddos are afraid of loud fireworks 🎆 (and thunder ⛈️). So please, remember the following tips for firework safety and care:
- give them a safe place 🏠. Pets love dark spaces or their crate because it’s familiar to their natural instincts & comforting.
- play background / soothing sounds 🎶 such as classical music or white noise as it’ll be a distraction for the kiddos to hear the sounds outside. Even talking to your furbebe in a soothing voice is an option.
- do not punish them for whining or being destructive as those are common ways most pets will soothe themselves when anxious. Instead, provide puzzle toys, licking toys, or chew toys for them to interact with 🦴. Also providing a vest will help kiddos feel like they are getting a hug or feel snuggled when anxious.
(Our go to is giving pets toys, , or toys that we will spread lickable or frozen goodies for them to enjoy)
- exercise / walk 🐕🦺🚶 your bebe before the festivities. Sure owners want to enjoy BBQ & firework shows, but in order to do so, give your kid some individual playtime so that they’ll feel more tired or worn out before you head out.
- your kiddo doesn’t mind fireworks and you plan on bringing your furbebe to the event to enjoy company? Just remember to ensure that they do not consume any human food or beverages (especially alcohol!) as that will cause GI issues. And I’m sure owners do not want to take their kiddo to an ER hospital over the holidays. 🍗🍻🍔🍾
- if your kiddo has severe anxiety and behaviors that may cause more harm to them or you, then talk to your vet about getting prescription products or prescribed sedatives 💊
- lastly, double check that your kiddos (doggos 🐶 & gatos🐱) are microchipped to help Samaritans contact you if you were to ever lose your bebe
You know what I love most about my work and business? Seeing clients trusting and hiring us for countless years and watching their furkiddos age. Aging is a beautiful thing in life. Shows physical growth, but also mental growth. As we age, we get wiser, smarter, and overall just developing…nonstop. No matter the age or where you are in life, there’s always room for growth. And with my business, I’ve learned so much, but continue to learn more each day. I do what I can to continue to provide the best love, care, and attention to all the kiddos we care for. And knowing that I’ve been doing this for almost a decade, it’s a blessing knowing and seeing how much has changed. But I can say for certain, seeing the grayness on some of these kiddos faces and fur, it’s a heartbreaking, yet beautiful thing to experience and see. Not only do the clients watch their pets grow and age, but so do we. And for that, we are FURever grateful.

Late post! But this is how we’ve spent our past week & weekend! Lots of boarders, lots of drop ins, lots of walks and playtime, and lots of love! Hope y’all have an amazing Tuesday. And remember Houston, stay cool & hydrated!

Surrounded by amazing clients and all the kiddos 🐾 we care for. With that being said, we will be making some changes. We do ask that our clients to not only be patient, but to be more open and understanding that Isabelle will have to eventually step back and focus on working “behind the scenes” to not only focus on having FUReedom Living grow, but also on her growing family. We cannot thank y’all enough for the beautiful and strong support from all of our clients. But most importantly, we cannot thank our team members enough for stepping up and taking on lots of the client/kid care. Without them, none of this would have happened. We love 🫶 y’all from the bottom of our hearts and hope that y’all will stick with us to the end.

It’s 1pm and these are what the kids at FUReedom Living get to see, hear, and experience while hanging out with us. We love taking our puppy friends on walks and listening to the sound of nature while they sniff the grass and air. We love the splish splash sounds of our feathered friends playing in the water. We love the meows and purrs that our feline friends make when we give them all sorts of good loving.

Houston!!! It’s a hot, HOT summer season ahead of us!Some of our midday pups like Reign & King and Sophie the Pittie normally book for midday walks. However, due to the insane heat, we are doing mix play! We will take pups out on a short walk to ensure they potty outside, but also combine playtime in the backyard or dog park, or indoor playtime. We also always carry our handy dandy water bottle too for pups to enjoy some ice cold water! Be sure to get one for yourselves if y’all travel with your pups! A little food for thought as a pet sitter and taking care of cats. At the end of it all, everyone and everything needs companionship. Not just humans. Not just dogs. Cats can feel loneliness too. You can just “throw food out” for them. Sure they’re a little more independent. But independence does not equal loneliness. Independent is defined as not depending on another for livelihood or subsistence. So yes, cats don’t need to be walked as they can go potty in a litter box at any given time. Yes, they can graze on a bowl of dry food (but I like to give canned food 💁🏻♀️). But overall, having a human presence means the most to them, even if it means that the human can only admire the kitty from a distance… After all, cats are royal and we are their servants
