We are excited to announce that we will be hosting an Intro to Ayurveda Workshop with Karuna Diedericks!!Ayurveda is called the Mother of Healing because it is 5000 years old. It is the original medicine of India. It is a diet and lifestyle-based approach to healing the body, mind and spirit. The most practical application of Ayurveda is through cooking. Food is indeed medicine in Ayurveda. With the understanding of Ayurvedic body-types comes the realization that everybody thrives on different foods. “Everything is good for somebody, nothing is good for everybody” is the popular axiom used to explain this concept.

Karuna Diedericks will explain the three Ayurvedic bio-energies (doshas), namely Vata, Pitta and Kapha that prevail in each individual in a unique combination that creates different body-types. Each body-type has different needs with a unique path to healing. Learning about their own body-types will empower attendees to know what is best to do, eat and avoid to create optimal health. Payments can also be sent to

Bhakti Urban Farm

The Bhakti Urban Farm is meant to inspire people towards a holistic lifestyle based on wisdom from ancient agrarian cultures. Through sustainability practices, specifically caring for land and cows, as well as performing arts, music, meditation and yoga, the Bhakti Urban Farm, located just 10 miles from downtown Houston, strives to create a more conscious Houston.

“Bhakti” is a Sanskrit word which means devotional service. This urban sanctuary provides a perfect antidote to cure the urge of exploitation by teaching individuals to channel their energy towards service, while leading a balanced, honest and simple life dedicated to discovering one’s self.

Farm & Education

This serene wooded refuge features a growing garden and a barn where our much-loved cows reside. The urban farm has many seasonal vegetables and fruit trees nourished by homegrown fertilizers. You will also spot many birds and bees enjoying the farm all year round.
