Welcome Esther to Camo Rescue. This super senior (est 15 years) was dumped in Fulsher and taken to the Fort bend Shelter where we rescued her today. She has a body condition score of 1 out of 9, she has double cherry eyes, bilateral corneal ulcers and severe dental disease. She’s 7 lbs and was trying to survive on the streets 😣. Bailey Bob is a 13 lb. young sh*tzu who was rescued from a high risk shelter in south Texas. He's approximately 2-3 years old. Bailey has made amazing progress in accepting new friends. He is very very sweet and loving to the people he knows- including his foster dad and our wonderful dog sitters who are a married couple. He loves sun bathing and especially music! He loves to play with toys. He does decent with a potty pad but best outside. However, we do use a belly band as he marks (mostly because every other dog has first)— but he knows the word no.

He cannot walk on a leash and would not be appropriate in an apartment (as he can be very vocal) but he would be a fantastic companion for the right home. He would do best as an only dog but another dog who can ignore him would be totally fine.

We’re happy when any of our dogs get adopted. But especially the long-term and special needs dogs ❤️

Carlee, a resilient 1.5-year-old Terrier mix, went home today to Wisconsin in a private plane no less 😍! Rescued from a traumatic incident at the Mexico border, she has suffered at the hands of a monster. Carlee was saved by good Samaritans who witnessed her deliberately being run over by her “Owner’s” car, severing her spinal cord. After further evaluation, sexual abuse was also suspected. She required extensive daily care, including manual bladder and bowel expressions, so we knew she wouldn’t be an easy adoption.

Despite her challenges, Carlee radiates joy and energy, defying professionals’ expectations by running and playing. This sweet girl is a fighter who loves life!

Hello there, I'm Princess. I am a 11-year-old, nineteen-pound Miniature Poodle being fostered in the Houston area. Don't let my age fool you, I've still got plenty of pep in my step. 🦋Transformation Tuesday🦋
Mariposa is a 2 year old Shih Tzu mix weighing 12 lbs found in terrible condition and turned into the shelter. CAMO Rescue saved her from the urgent list at the shelter. She spent a few weeks healing in her Houston area foster home and is now ready for her furever home. She is spayed, up to date on shots and microchipped. She is very slight heartworm positive, but we have treated her for it. Mariposa is an absolute sweetheart. This laid back cutie love to sunbathe and just hang around by your side. She gets along great with her foster’s 3 little dogs, she loves to play and entertains herself with toys by throwing them up in the air. Mariposa is potty trained as well as crate trained, she loves to go rest in the crate and even paws at the crate when it's closed. Mariposa loves her snacks and will do a little spin for her foster mom so she can get some extra, which works like a charm. She loves to go on walks and does great on the leash, she is a very well behaved little lady.

A small female Yorkie was left in a box, unable to walk, in a terrible state. She had an open, infected wound on her lip and was covered in mats and fleas.
Unfortunately, she was too scared for us to help immediately. We are keeping her comfortable with medicine until she can be seen by our vet tomorrow.

My name is Buddy and I am an 8 year old 8lb yorkie. My mom got really sick and couldn't care for me anymore so CAMO Rescue took me in and promised to find me someone who would love me like my mom did. I am a very good boy, you will just need to teach me the ropes in my new house. I do get anxious sometimes and don't like to be left by myself or in a crate. Being alone can be really stressful for me since I have lived my whole life right next to my mom here in Houston. I love chilling on the couch or hanging out wherever you are in the house. I am an absolute love bug. I love all of my foster family, even the grumpy cat!

I would do best in a home with no kids and someone who works from home or is retired. I have a couple of health problems, but they are really no big deal. I have a heart murmur and diabetes. I take 2 pills and 2 shots a day and the doctor says there is no reason why I can't live to a ripe old age. If you are looking for a faithful, relaxed companion who rarely barks, I would love to be your buddy!

Owner surrender due to living arrangements.

Glory is a fun sweet loving 2 year old blue French Bulldog.

Glory is not potty trained but does use a potty pad. We are working with her on going outside.
She has learned how to use a doggy door but thinks outside is just for playing and laying in the sun.
She does not like being in a crate but we are trying to work with her on feeling comfortable in a crate.
She loves to cuddle and follow her human.
She is good with children, other dogs her size and cats.

Welcome Cricket and Rosie Louise to Camo rescue. These female Yorkies are four and five years old and have lived their whole lives as breeder dogs and were rescued from a hoarding case of 70 + Yorkies and schnauzers. They were so matted they could barely walk. Rosie was one of the worst cases of neglect I have seen! Cricket has a huge hot spot on her neck and back due to matting. Cricket was dropped as a puppy and has a broken leg that healed wrong. Both dogs have ear infections and urinary tract infections and dental disease. They are very sweet dogs despite their previous living conditions. It’s so fun to watch them start to play with the other dogs and come out of their shells and start trusting and want affection. Cricket curls up next to me in bed at night and reaches for pets ❤️

Located in N Houston area. Foster’s needed. They will be available to adopt in 30 days or so. Cricket is in heat so she escaped having to go through a pregnancy in that terrible place!!

Bocelli is one of the 75 dogs that were rescued from a terrible hoarding situation in Texas Friday. Less than 1/2 of his litter survived and he is 1/3 of the size of his remaining 3 siblings. He is completely blind and we are not sure why, but he has a micro eye and the other eye looks to have had some trauma. His blood work is a little off. We were worried about a liver shunt but at this time we think that it’s just bad nutrition. He’s mildly anemic. His hematocrit is 26%. His white blood cell count is high and his BUN is low. We’re hoping with good food, nutrition, antibiotics, and vitamins that he will quickly bounce back. He’s thin and had lots of parasites.

He is a full Schnauzer born 4/24 but stunted due to lack of nutrition and horrid living conditions having to compete with siblings 3x his size 😞. His siblings are pictured last (Lovey, Crush and Finley Hero).

Meet Rufus, a charming 1 year and 8-month-old Shih Tzu / Yorkie mix who weighs 13 pounds. Rufus has had a bit of a bumpy start in life; he was adopted from Camo as a puppy but, sadly, was brought back after a year. Now, he's looking for a forever home where he can truly thrive. Rufus is initially shy around strangers and can sometimes be a bit nippy, but once he warms up and trusts you, he becomes incredibly loyal and affectionate. Rufus has a high prey drive, especially when it comes to small animals, but he usually gets along well with other dogs, making him a potential candidate for a multi-dog household. Currently, Rufus is working on his potty training and leash training in his Houston area foster home. He needs a consistent schedule and diligent effort to master these skills. His new family will need to be patient and committed to helping him improve in these areas. One of Rufus's unique and endearing traits is his love for parkour. He enjoys climbing and jumping around the house, so a home that allows him to explore his agility by climbing on furniture would be perfect for him. This playful activity helps keep him mentally and physically stimulated. Rufus would thrive best in an adult-only home with low foot traffic, as he has a tendency to door dart. His ideal home would be one that understands his quirks and is willing to provide the structure and love he needs.

The CAMO facility is still without electricity. But you know what's awesome? Mike and a BUNCH of other amazing people came together to ensure the dogs had water, two running generators, supplies, Frisco, the dumpster dog, was adopted AND 24 of the facility dogs went to temporary foster homes! It's super to see how our community can come together in times of need. We're so grateful for your continued efforts and it just goes to show that when people work together, great things can happen. Hopefully, the electricity situation gets resolved soon, but in the meantime, we are thankful that there are some real heroes out there who are willing to lend a helping hand. Our Story

CAMO specialises in small breed dogs that we pull from the euthanasia lists at TX and surrounding shelters- vets and spay/neuters them, heals with love and finds them new furever homes. We also educate the public about spay, neuter and vaccinating their pets against Parvo and Distemper.

We are solely volunteer run and work off the donations from our loving supporters.
