Calling all puppies! Take advantage of your puppy's natural curiosity and abundant energy by taking him to Puppy Socialization Class! These single, one-off classes are designed to improve your puppie's confidence through controlled and structured games and activities around other puppies. You will practice activities that provide mental and physical enrichment that satisfy your puppy's inherent hobbies like nose-work, tug-of-war, climbing, and digging. On top of that you can improve your dog's confidence while in the vicinity of other puppies and novel stimuli by engaging them in diversions like Paw-kour, obstacle courses and trick training. Puppy playtime in appropriate play groups will also be a focus in class.

This one-off class is perfect for puppies to try out our Puppy Day School enrichment activities with their parents so parents can learn how to create socialization courses at home.

Prerequisites: Current student/Graduate of Puppy Day School or Puppy Class Part One. Puppies should be under 6 months old.

Do you or your pup struggle with settling and relaxing? Do you have difficulty keeping their attention during group classes or working in new environments? We love helping dogs get ready for a new baby! Murphy and his parents came to see us for private lessons to prepare for the arrival of his new baby brother. 🤰 One of the first things we recommend is to slowly begin exposing the dog to all the new baby accoutrements, as well as the sounds of a baby crying. 😢 Thankfully, Murphy’s parents realized quickly that sounds of a baby crying made him a bit nervous and anxious. We immediately began to work on helping Murphy change his emotional response and relax when the baby cries. This is real progress and it’s so lovely to see the beautiful relationship between dog and parents. Baby is due this Saturday and we are so excited for them! P.S. We also taught Murphy that he is only allowed to sniff the baby’s feet. 🦶 We never want the dog up in the baby’s face. #believeindog #babymakes4 #dogtraining #houstondogtraining #puppyexperts

Named Houston’s Best Dog Trainer by Houston Press & Certified by the Council of Professional Dog Trainers (CPDT-KSA), we are recognized as Houston’s original puppy experts and founders of the city’s first all-encompassing, puppy-focused training programs. We began developing our unique programs in 2008 under the guidance of our mentor, Dr. Ian Dunbar, who revolutionized dog training when he designed the world's very first off-leash puppy class. Our constant goal is to educate new puppy owners and local veterinarians on the importance of early puppy training.
