Houston, let's talk...

We are facing a crisis. It's estimated that there are hundreds of thousands of strays on our city streets. Rescues and shelters across the greater Houston area work day in and day out to bring these animals into loving homes. However, the need is overwhelming. They are stretched incredibly thin. They need relief. Their difficulties will compound if we don't do our part to aid them.

Over the next few weeks, we are going to be sharing a series of educational posts meant to spread awareness regarding the benefits of spay & neuter. Please follow along with us as we work to spread crucial awareness and hopefully, make a small difference in our community.

💜 Asha is in DESPERATE need of a new foster or hopefully an adopter. Her currently foster is struggling with some medical issues and needs to focus on her personal health.

A word from her foster:

She’s so sweet. So snuggly. Crate trained, sleeps with us every night. Potty trained, but will use the doggy door if she’s reminded how. Has more fun with the small dogs, than even the big ones, but she adores both. She lovessss our cats. Especially our blind one. Great on a leash and goes hiking with Kevin 3-4 times a week. She is about 40 lbs and recently just had her first birthday. Asha is heartworm negative, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

*** foster needs to be located in the greater Houston area, but she can be transported to an out of state, approved adopter

Meet Arfur Weasley, the ultimate wizard wannabe! He's a 2-year-old, 12lb, neutered male Chihuahua mix who's traded in his magic wand for a squeaky toy. When he's not busy being adorable, he loves hanging out with other dogs and muggles (that's you!). He's a pro at getting along with tiny humans, crate-training, and house-training. 🎂 Asha, like so many other dogs in rescue is celebrating her first birthday in her foster home. We always want birthdays to be happy but sometimes they are a reminder of what we do not have.

Asha was born in a cold, dirty warehouse and her momma fought so hard to make sure her babies survived long enough to be rescued. As a little puppy her chances of adoption dwindled each month and now she is an adult. 😩
