🌈 Today, we are asking you to join us in holding space for a very special girl and the beautiful life she lived. Beluga, our beloved senior queen, has crossed the rainbow bridge after spending her final years exactly where she was meant to be. She was safe, adored, and deeply known by her foster family.

Beluga spent over 4 years under our care, slowly teaching us that trust is something earned, not assumed. She wasn’t quick to welcome new people, but once you were hers, you were hers. When Beluga loved, she loved with her whole heart.

Almost two years ago, she walked into a home that became her forever place. A place where she could soften. A place where she could age with dignity. A place where she could finally exhale and simply be loved for exactly who she was. A place where she could be free to rip up every blanket and loaf of bread.

We’re grateful for every moment she allowed us into her world. Grateful for the foster family who saw her, chose her, and gave her the golden years she so deeply deserved. And grateful for the lessons she leaves behind: that every dog, no matter their age or quirks, deserves a chance to be someone’s whole world.

Run free, Beluga. You were cherished beyond measure, and your love will stay with us always. 🌈

As we wrap up 2025, we’re reflecting on a year that looked a little different for our rescue. We welcomed 45 animals into our care — a smaller number than in years past — but every single one received 100% of our love, time, and commitment.

And because of this incredible community, 42 dogs found their perfect homes this year. Forty‑two families grew a little bigger, a little furrier, and a whole lot happier.

We’re closing out the year with 19 dogs and 2 cats still searching for their families. They’re safe, loved, and getting everything they need while they wait — but we know their people are out there. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an application at www.hhfrescue.org

To our adopters, donors, fosters, volunteers, and cheerleaders: thank you. Your support keeps us going, keeps tails wagging, and keeps hope alive for every animal who walks through our doors.

Here’s to compassion, second chances, and the lives we’ll change together in 2026. 🐾💛

Sadie had a busy day. She played until she fell over, got a bath, and introduced to her new foster home and yard. She is currently enjoying the feel of grass on her toes and the wind on her face!

Sadie is enjoying time out of boarding. She doesn't know it yet, but this was the last time. After two years, Sadie is going to a foster home!
