Many of our core volunteers bring along years of experience from serving other Houston rescue groups. As of December 31, 2021 we have homed and re-homed over 8896 dogs and 500 cats! Our volunteers are compassionate, companion

animal welfare advocates dedicated to contributing their time, skills, finances, and experience. In turn, their dedication helps save the lives of the abandoned, abused, homeless, neglected, orphaned, rejected, stray, and surrendered dogs in Houston's animal control facilities. We are committed to rescuing and re-homing these dogs regardless of their breed or circumstance. We are motivated by the dire need to educate the public about the effects of irresponsible breeding practices, while helping the community by alleviating overcrowding in area shelters. K-9 Angels Rescue Board Members and Volunteers are 100% VOLUNTEER and receive NO compensation. We are not a shelter in the sense that we are not positioned to accept dogs from the public. We personally select our dogs from the greater Houston animal control facilities where healthy, adoptable dogs are destroyed every day simply because they have no home, no family, to call their own. A dog selected into our rescue program remains in our care until adopted. Only when we are able to secure the best match between dog and new caregiver(s) is the dog released from our program. A foster home provides the dog with a loving, safe environment and allows for behavioral observations & modifications, and training. Fostering creates the opportunity to see how the dog interacts with human family members and furry family members. When a foster family is not available our dogs are kenneled until transported to our Adoption Center on Saturday morning

SUNNY HAS AN UPDATED BIO AND CUTE NEW PICS!

When Sunny isn’t learning the intricacies of fetch, she is happily chewing on her little dinosaur or reindeer toys. She’s an awesome puppy who sits before getting her meals - we’re working on making those sits a little longer, but she’s just so exuberant! She comes when called (most of the time) and sleeps through the night! A spunky girl, she loves playing with her foster dog siblings and respectfully watching her foster cat sibling. She’s a smart cookie who is very food motivated and easily redirected when being mischievous. She’s also crate-trained and well on her way to being fully house-trained. Adorably, she will try to join in on her husky-mix foster siblings’ howling sessions with little baby howls. This cuddly puppy would love to bring a little sunshine to her forever home!

Sunny is a female Chow/Lab Mix born 8/20/2024. As of 11/13, she weighs 16.6 lbs.

RUSTY HAS AN UPDATED BIO AND PICS TO SHARE!

I’m Rusty! I like to lay on the grass and get some sun. I love playing with my foster brother around the yard! I’ve been practicing some commands with my foster mom, and I’m working really hard at them! Did I mention that I’m potty trained? No accidents inside my home! I love cuddles and sleeping next to my foster mom while she works.

Rusty is a male Australian Cattle Dog mix with an estimated DOB of 6/15/2024. He currently weighs 25 lbs.

FOSTERS NEEDED

Emma needs a new foster ASAP. She will be 3mo on the 20th and currently weighs 17 lbs. Shes doing well with potty and crate training. Fully private fenced yard required.

Itty and Bitty are needing new fosters by this weekend. They are almost 2mo and both weigh close to 3 lbs. Fully private fenced yards required.

MEET TOFU!

I’m smaller than most of my siblings, but my mommy thinks I am super sweet and warm. I love love belly rubs. Once I’m on my side, I’ll show off my belly right away to get a good rub. Every time my foster parents take me outside onto the grass, I always do my business, which makes me well on my way to being potty trained. I love following my foster parents everywhere. After they take me outside, I always follow them back into the house. I’m a good girl! I love playing with different toys, but most of all, I love getting kisses. I also sleep through the night to get recharged for the next day. I have a lot love and I can’t wait to meet my new family!

Tofu is a female Chihuahua/Terrier mix who was born 9/15/2024. She weighs 2.2 lbs as of 11/1/24.

MEET GINGER!

I might look tiny, but I have a big personality. I love to hop around the backyard where I currently live. My foster mom thinks I’m super sweet. I love kisses from her. I am almost fully potty trained at night. I have always been a good girl and sleeping well in my kennel at night. I love to play with different toys. I am playful and warm, and can be a little mischievous as well. Every time my foster parents take me outside onto the grass, I always do my business, which makes me well on my way to being fully potty trained. I have a lot love and good energy, and I can’t wait to meet my new family!

Ginger is a female Chihuahua/Terrier mix who was born 9/15/2024. She weighs 2.8 lbs as of 11/1/24.

Do you have weekend plans? Cole wants to join you! He is a pro at going on long hikes or spending time exploring at the dog park. He has the energy to keep up with you on all of your adventures!

Cole has been with the rescue since he was a small puppy. He has stayed with several foster families who have all adored him and talked about what a happy, loving boy he is! He loves playing with other dogs and would do great with a canine sibling who matches his energy. Let’s find this sweet goofball the forever home that he deserves ❤️

Hi! I’m Chico! I’m a happy, fun loving puppy. I love giving kisses and playing with my toys. When I’m outside I love running around and fetching the ball! I also enjoy chilling in my space and taking long naps. I barely bark or cry when I’m in my puppy pen and I’m pretty good at keeping myself entertained. I love all humans and other dogs. I’m very sweet and gentle too! Oh did I mention I’m also housebroken? I’ll make a great addition to your family!

Hi! I’m Arlo, a fun-loving and energetic Husky mix. I absolutely love playing tug-o-war, going on adventures, and snuggling up for some quality belly rubs. I’m a friendly guy who gets along with everyone-kids, adults, and other dogs too! If you’re looking for a loyal buddy to share your life with, I’m your dog!

I’ve been staying with a wonderful foster family who’s been teaching me all sorts of cool things like sit, shake, stay, leave it, and how to be a good boy indoors. I walk well on a leash, stay in a crate during the day, and sleep through the night. I like car rides, playing with rope toys, and napping. The vet says I’m in tip-top shape and ready to find my forever family.

I’m dreaming of a home where I can run and play to my heart’s content. A backyard would be awesome, but I’m also happy with lots of walks and playtime. I’m eager to learn and would love to continue my training with you. I promise to be your best friend and bring lots of joy and laughter into your life. I can’t wait to meet you!

MEET EMMA!

Emma is a sweet puppy, excited to see all people and loves to play with other dogs. She has done great in a house with young kids, gives kisses and loves to be pet. She is curious and loves to explore and hasn’t destroyed anything. She likes to play with dog toys and loves to lay on dog beds or human beds, she likes to be comfortable. She has a good balance of puppy energy and being able to relax. She might be a dog that wants to fetch because she runs after our dog when she plays fetch.

She has begun to understand the routine of going out to potty and is learning how to potty outside. She sleeps well in her crate, she may whine a bit but then settles down and sleeps all night. As soon as she is woken up, she is happy to go outside where she goes potty. She seems smart and has picked up the routine well but is still practicing perfecting her potty routine. Emma is a great puppy and truly happy to be around people and dogs. She is excited to continue her puppy training with her forever family!

Paige is the sweetest 2-year-old Terrier mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit. She weighs about 39 lbs and is the perfect size for snuggling! Paige loves going on walks, playing fetch, and enjoying the sunshine. She’s obsessed with belly rubs and never misses a chance to give lots of kisses!

She’s great with kids and gets along well with other dogs. Paige is house-trained and knows basic commands like “sit” and “stay.” She’s looking for a forever home where she can be an active part of the family. Paige thrives on attention and will make a loyal companion for anyone or any family who can give her the love and time she deserves.

MEET JOLENE!

Jolene (sometimes we call her Jo for short) is a happy, playful, and sweet dog. Jolene just wants to be where the people are, whether at home or on errands to Home Depot; she is just happy to be a part. She loves to go on walks, play with her foster brother and just observe the great outdoors. Her favorite toys to play with are sticks, tennis balls, and stuffed toys to carry around and show off. Her most recent love has been a treat reward ball to play with around the house for hours.

Jolene is fully potty-trained and crate-trained. While Jolene is happy in a crate if needed, she also has gone to work with her foster mom and loved being able to assist her at work and meet her coworkers. Jolene could be your co-pilot on your next road trip or the newest sister to add to a family. Jolene is dog-friendly and loves people. This girl will be the best addition to an active home with a yard to run around in.

Jolene is a Female Schnauzer Mix that we estimate to be born around 12/15/2023 and weighs 32 lbs.

INTRODUCING TUCKER!

Meet Tucker, the little bundle of joy who’s ready to bring love and laughter to his forever family! This adorable pup sports a soft, white coat with a charming brown-black patch over his right eye and back—making him as unique as he is lovable. Tucker is still learning the ropes of crate and potty training, but with a bit of patience, he’ll be the perfect addition to any home.

Tucker’s curiosity and affection know no bounds! At his tiny size, he loves exploring every nook and cranny, so a bell on his collar helps keep tabs on this little adventurer. He’s a social butterfly who’s been loving life with his two Chiweenie foster buddies, and he’s always up for playtime—especially with his favorite little tennis ball. When he’s not busy playing, he’s happiest snuggled up in your arms, soaking in all the love.

Tucker is truly a gem, and he’s ready to bring endless joy and companionship to his new family. Whoever adopts him is in for a lifetime of happiness with this sweet, well-mannered little guy!

MEET SHERU!

Sheru, which means "Lion" in Hindi, is a spirited pup currently navigating the exciting world of puppy training. While he's teething right now, we're working on redirecting him with lots of chew toys that he loves. We're also tackling house training with patience and positive reinforcement.

He's a quick learner when it comes to commands-currently mastering "sit" and learning to stay calm during feeding time. Crate training is going well; he sleeps soundly in his crate and gives us a gentle nudge around 6 AM to let us know it's potty time.

When we're home, Sheru enjoys roaming freely under supervision, bringing joy and energy to our days. With his lion-hearted spirit, he's sure to become a beloved part of his future family!

Sheru is a Male Chow/Lab Mix that was born 8/20/24. As of 10/16, he weighed close to 11 lbs.

ZIVA HAS AN UPDATED BIO AND SOME CUTE NEW PICS!

This sweet, well-behaved girl is looking for her forever home. Ziva is happiest when she’s outdoors, where she can chase squirrels to her heart’s content. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and has never had an accident indoors—so she’s a perfect housemate!

Ziva loves her daily walks and will gladly shower you with kisses if you let her. She’s also known to get the zoomies, and it’s the cutest thing you’ll ever see! If you’re ready for a loving, spunky companion, Ziva can’t wait to meet you!
