As of December 31, 2021 we have homed and rehomed over 8896 dogs and 500 cats. is an all-breed, non-profit 501(c)(3), canine rescue organization established in February 2012. Many of our core volunteers bring along years of experience from serving other Houston rescue groups. As of December 31, 2021 we have homed and re-homed over 8896 dogs and 500 cats! Our volunteers are compassionate, companion

animal welfare advocates dedicated to contributing their time, skills, finances, and experience. In turn, their dedication helps save the lives of the abandoned, abused, homeless, neglected, orphaned, rejected, stray, and surrendered dogs in Houston's animal control facilities. We are committed to rescuing and re-homing these dogs regardless of their breed or circumstance. We are motivated by the dire need to educate the public about the effects of irresponsible breeding practices, while helping the community by alleviating overcrowding in area shelters. K-9 Angels Rescue Board Members and Volunteers are 100% VOLUNTEER and receive NO compensation. We are not a shelter in the sense that we are not positioned to accept dogs from the public. We personally select our dogs from the greater Houston animal control facilities where healthy, adoptable dogs are destroyed every day simply because they have no home, no family, to call their own. A dog selected into our rescue program remains in our care until adopted. Only when we are able to secure the best match between dog and new caregiver(s) is the dog released from our program. A foster home provides the dog with a loving, safe environment and allows for behavioral observations & modifications, and training. Fostering creates the opportunity to see how the dog interacts with human family members and furry family members. When a foster family is not available our dogs are kenneled until transported to our Adoption Center on Saturday morning

INTRODUCING LULU!

Lulu has a sweet, curious, and playful personality. She loves to play with her set of toys, taking turns with each one. She also loves to play fetch already. Lulu is getting the hang of potty training. When it’s time for the crate, she is upset only just a few moments and then is ready for a nap. She does not use the restroom in her crate and waits to be let out. She is getting used to her routine: eat, bathroom time, playtime, bathroom, then nap! She loves being held and carried. She loves to snuggle and nap next to you. Snuggle bug she is!

Lulu is a female Terrier mix with an estimated date of birth of 11/1/2024. As of 1/31, she weighs 6.6 lbs.

CHECK OUT HANDSOME TOSHI'S UPDATED BIO AND NEW PICS!

Hi, there! I'm Toshi. I'm just a handsome, goofy, good boy looking for my forever home. I love everyone! I've gotten to meet lots of new people when foster mom takes me for long hikes. My absolute favorite pastime is playing. I will run around and wrestle my big, furry foster brother or entertain myself with toys. My foster brother is working on teaching me puppy manners. Foster mom thinks I'm pretty smart and will learn my manners and maybe some new tricks fairly quickly. I learned to ring the bell on the back door when I need to go outside on my first day in my current foster home! I already know sit, down, and kennel. I'm currently working on shake. I'm very treat motivated! When the playtime is over for the day, I enjoy cuddling up to my humans. Because I can get a little too rambunctious, I would do best in a home with older children and/or young, active dogs. I've also done well as an only dog and lived in an apartment. I'm potty and crate trained, sleeping through the night.

With my good looks and great ears, I'm sure to find a home in no time, so you should apply today!

CHECK OUT CUTIE PRINGLES WITH HIS UPDATED PICS & BIO!

If you are looking to have a big “teddy bear” type of dog, Pringles may be a great fit for you. Since coming to his foster home at 5 weeks old, Pringles has consistently demonstrated a love for affection, whether it be belly rubs, being held, being carried, or laying in someone’s lap while playing with a toy. He just loves people. He also has the softest coat of fluffy fur which makes him extra cuddly. Pringles is an adorable pup who loves to play with toys, explore the backyard, or sit and observe everything around him. The resident large dog in the home doesn’t care much for puppies and Pringles is respectful of that, although he is definitely curious and wishes to play.

Potty training is still a work in progress, however, Pringles does not potty in his crate at all and generally does well going potty outside if let out consistently. Pringles is not a fan of the crate since it means he cannot be with his people. He protests for a good minute or two, but eventually settles down. He is still learning that the crate is okay. At night, however, Pringles sleeps in his crate all alone for a solid 8 hours without a peep! This puppy has a big heart to match his projected big size and is looking for a big future of cuddles and fun.

Pringles is a Male Great Pyrenees/Shepherd Mix that we estimate to be born around 12/11/2024. As of 2/8, he weighed 9.2 lbs.

MEET FIFI!

Bonjour! My name is Fifi and I’m a 5 year old, fully vetted Siamese lynx point kitty. I LOVE the company of other cats, so if you have a kitty that needs a buddy, I’m your girl! In fact, I’m really looking for a home with another friendly feline or two. I also love watching all the goings on outside through my perch at the window. Birds, squirrels, raccoons, I love watching them play and run.

I do have a little bit of vision impairment, so I’m a little shy at first, but once I trust you I will find you and ask for all the pets I can get! I have been used to a smaller space so when you take me home I’d like to start out in a smaller area until I feel comfortable enough to explore on my own. A comfy bed and a window perch are my 2 favorite things. I’m not quite as high maintenance as my name would imply. LOL! I’m a sweet girl that deserves a second chance at a good life.

MEET TRUFFLES!

Truffles is a sweet and loving little pup. She is working on mastering potty training and does well when you take her out every hour or so. At night she will bark to let you know she needs to go out. She likes being in her kennel and will go in on her own when you say “crate”. She loves her food and eats 3 times a day.

Truffles is doing really well with small kids. She loves being cuddled and carried around! She also likes to play with the senior beagle that she is sharing a space with.

Truffles is a female Terrier mix with an estimated date of birth of 11/1/2024. As of 1/31, she weighs 6.6 lbs.

💕 Sweet Bruce is our next Valentine’s bachelor! Bruce is a cuddle king who has been waiting patiently for his family to come along. He may be considered a senior, but he still loves to play with toys and roll around outside in the grass.

CHECK OUT PIPPIN'S UPDATED BIO AND DARLING NEW PICS!

I'm timid at first, but once settled, I am a sweetheart. 🩷 I would enjoy laying down next to you on the couch or while you are cooking in the kitchen, and if you work from home, I like to lay on your lap. I like playing with my foster brother, chasing him around the yard or playing with the ball. Guess what? I did it! I'm fully potty trained and have no accidents in my home, not even in my crate at night. Just tell me "outside," and I know where im going! I can't wait to find my FURever home. I promise to give lots of kisses and cuddles!

Pippin is a Female Golden Retriever/Chihuahua Mix that we estimate to be born around 10/20/2024. As of 2/7, she weighed 19 lbs.

MEET SNACKS!

We would like to introduce you to the most amazing little lovebug, Snacks! She came to us by someone that thought she was hit by a car, but turned out she had been badly attacked by a larger dog with severe wounds to her legs. She's completely healed now and ready to find her furever home! She is heartworm positive unfortunately. She is starting treatment, so she will need to be able to stay calm for the month or so. She's already more on the calm side so it won't be too hard though.

She's AMAZING with kids and the little human foster brother in the home is her BFF. In her furever home, she would love to have a kiddo to call her own to grow up with. She is all about her people and will make the most loyal friend to everyone in the family.

Given her past, she was hesitant with the other resident dogs here, but with time realized they won't hurt her. We just like to say she has a little bit of short man syndrome in her. ;) In her new home, a proper, slow introduction to the other dog(s) is needed so she can feel comfortable. A more submissive dog that won't be all up in her bubble would be best, or she would love to have all the attention to herself and be your one and only pupper too.

Snacks is completely crate trained and if taken out regularly, does well with house training. She will fuss for a little bit when you leave her, but settles down after a few mins. Car rides and going places is her favorite! She's your true passenger princess and just wants to be wherever you are.

Snacks is a Female Chihuahua/Spaniel Mix that we estimate to be born around 7/15/23 and weighs 13.8 lbs.

MEET CLEO!

Looking for a loving, loyal companion who will melt your heart with cuddles and is always up for an adventure? Meet Cleo, a beautiful three year old Lab mix with a heart as big as her appetite! Her shiny brown coat and gorgeous brown eyes will surely make you swoon.

This affectionate girl adores people and thrives on belly rubs, snuggles, and quality time with her favorite humans. Whether it’s lounging by your side, joining you on outdoor adventures, or eagerly learning new tricks (especially when treats are involved!), Cleo is always ready to please.

She is highly food-motivated and eager to learn, making training both fun and rewarding. However, due to her strong prey drive, Cleo cannot live in a home with small animals such as cats or rabbits. She does great with other dogs and children. There is nothing she loves more than to play fetch or tug of war.

INTRODUCING DUQUE!

Duque (sounds like Duke) is a social puppy who likes to explore and play outside. He is starting to enjoy belly rubs and loves to follow you around. He is well suited to live with kids and other dogs since he has shown to be gentle and calm around them, and plays well with his sister Buchi. He may need lots of exercise and will likely become a good playtime companion. He is starting to understand potty training, and goes out every 2-3 hours potting right away in the grass, however, he is not quite there yet. Get your application in now, we’re sure you won’t regret it.

Duque (pronounced Duke) is a Male Terrier Mix that was born 12/7/24. As of 1/25, he weighed 3 lbs.

MEET BUCHI!

Buchi is is a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, she will follow you around asking for cuddles. She loves chasing her brother Duque around the backyard and enjoys laying on the grass. She is starting to understand potty training and goes out every 2-3 hours potting right away in the grass; however, she is not quite there yet. MEET ELSA!

Elsa has been with her foster mom for about 2 weeks, and foster mom says she’s not only gotten cuter but very comfortable around the house!

She’s is pretty much kennel trained, while she may try to argue her way out, or give you the sweet puppy eyes to take her out, after a few minutes she settles down and quietly plays with her toys until she falls asleep. She sleeps thru the night, with the occasional wake up cry for a much needed “bathroom break” in the middle of the night.

She is getting better at potty training, and has mastered ringing the bells hanging from the patio door to let her foster know she needs to go out.

She enjoys playing with her 6 year old foster dog sibling, loves to run around the backyard, keeps herself busy with her toys when she’s in her kennel. Basically, she’s a great puppy! She enjoys the occasional cuddling, bur for now she’s all about exploring and running around the house when she’s not in her kennel. She is a very independent puppy, but definetly enjoys following her foster mom around the house trying get her toes 🤣

Elsa is a female Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix with an estimated date of birth of 12/11/2024. As of 2/1, she weighs 7 lbs.
