Have you ever thought about fostering an animal in need? Now is the perfect time!

We’re looking for caring folks like you to open your home—just for a short time—to a dog or cat (or even a few, if you're up for it!) so we can keep saving lives. Just a short time with you until they head to our rescue partner can be all that is needed to save them!❤

We’ll work to match you with a pet that fits your home and lifestyle, and we provide all medical care and supplies—you just provide the love and a place to stay!

Chefs for Paws was a huge success, and we owe a massive THANK YOU to Cynthia Koehn for helping make it all happen! As the head of our silent auction committee, she dedicated countless hours to ensuring every detail was perfect. She was up at RPM every day, making sure everything was in place, and her hard work made a tremendous impact.❤

Cynthia, we can’t thank you enough for your time, energy, and passion for the animals. This wouldn’t have been possible without you! 🐶

Huge shoutout to Jodie Jones Eisenhardt, the brilliant mind behind Chefs for Paws! 🐾

As a food writer in Houston, Jodie wanted to combine her passion for food and rescue animals—so she created Chefs for Paws. What started as a small dinner where local chefs cooked for guests has grown into a full-on gala, raising critical funds to save homeless pets.

Quite simply, this event would not exist without her. Her dedication and love for both the culinary and rescue worlds sparked something truly special, and we are beyond grateful for everything she’s done. ❤️🐾

Swipe through to see how far this event has come over the years! Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success!

We wanted to take a moment to recognize all of our amazing volunteers who helped out at Chefs for Paws. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible volunteers who made it all happen! From securing auction items to setting up, keeping things running smoothly during the event, and staying late to clean up—this event literally could not have happened without you.

Your time, effort, and dedication helped us raise life-saving funds for the animals, and we are beyond grateful. Not all our amazing volunteers are pictured, but we appreciate every single one of you! ❤️🐾

🐾 They don’t need forever—just a moment of your time. 🐾

Imagine feeling lost, forgotten, unsure if anyone will ever care again. That’s the reality for so many rescue animals—until someone like you shows up.

💙 A gentle touch can ease their fear.
🍲 A meal can fill more than just their belly—it fills them with hope.
🐶 Your kindness can remind them they are not invisible.

To you, it’s just an hour or two. To them, it’s everything.

You may not be their forever home, but you can be the reason they believe in love again. Will you be that person?

Remember Minnie? We rescued this sweet girl back in August when she was battling severe demodex, conjunctivitis, and hyperextension in her front paws caused by chronic malnutrition. After nearly six months of care and healing, Minnie was finally ready to start her new life in Colorado. Shortly after arriving, she found her forever home—and now she’s thriving!

Thank you for helping us save angels like Minnie every day❤

In 2021, March 8th was declared RPM Day for the city of Houston to celebrate the milestone of saving 50,000 lives from BARC.

Four years later, we have saved more than 73,580 lives from BARC—and we know the animals there need us now more than ever.

Today, we celebrate every pet whose life was saved and every person who played a part in making that possible. If you have ever fostered, donated, volunteered, transported, or shared our mission, this day is about you too. We could not do this without our supporters, and we are more grateful than ever for this community.

Thank you for being part of the RPM team. Here’s to saving many more lives together. ❤🐾

Did you know that March is Pet Poison Prevention Awareness Month?

We all love our pets, and keeping dangerous items out of reach is one of the best ways to keep them safe! Some everyday things can be highly toxic to pets—here are a few common dangers to watch out for:

🐾Grapes & Raisins – Even a small amount can cause kidney failure in dogs.
🐾Xylitol (sugar substitute found in sugar-free gum, mints, & certain peanut butters) – Can cause a dangerous drop in blood sugar and liver failure in dogs.
🐾Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, etc.) – Toxic to both dogs and cats, leading to stomach ulcers, kidney failure, and more.
🐾Sago Palms – Every part of this plant is poisonous, especially the seeds. Ingestion can lead to liver failure and death.
🐾Lilies – Extremely toxic to cats! Even licking pollen off their fur can cause fatal kidney failure.

If you suspect your pet has ingested something toxic, call your vet or the ASPCA Poison Control Center immediately: (888) 426-4435.

Meet Barkley. This sweet, gentle boy came into the shelter with devastating injuries—he had been shot in the neck, with the bullet passing through and grazing his eye before exiting near his ear. Another bullet is still lodged in his thorax, and he has a broken canine that adds to his pain...😓

Despite everything, Barkley has remained incredibly sweet and trusting—proving once again just how resilient and forgiving animals are.

Barkley has a long road ahead, and we need your help to make sure he gets the best care possible. Your donation today will not only support his recovery but also help us save more animals like Barkley—innocent souls who deserve a second chance.

If you’d like to donate toward Barkley’s care, please use the link below. Every dollar makes a difference.

Thank you for believing in these animals when no one else does. Barkley is safe because of you. 🐾❤️
