We discussed how to get on the nice list. We went over some things/deeds they could do, better decision-making ideas, better reactions they could find, and how helping others is very nice.
Tyson, Biscuit, and Susie all decided they wanted to help Stitch on his go home. They walked so nicely and offered lots of encouraging words to Stitch. It really helped because Stitch and his dad did amazing!
Sammie told Tigger and his brother Gus that maybe they could work as a team today. When Gus started to struggle, Sammie started cheering him on. "Come on, Gus, you can do it!". I told Sammie that was very nice. Maybe he could keep this up they out the year. We all need some cheering from time to time.
Ray was so excited to show how good she could do everything, all while wearing a smile. She waited at the door, went on place, and even held a sit. Gosh Ray, maybe you take this back to your house and remind your brothers from time to time.
Pibby was really nervous she couldn't come up with anything to do to get on the nice list. I told her it doesn't have to be an action, Pibby. It can be a smile, offering help to a stranger, anything that comes from the heart with good intentions. While we were outside, our neighbor was walking her dog. Pibby called out, "Merry Christmas, friends." Then, she waved. I said, Pibby, that was perfect manners and very nice. It's that easy. She was so relieved she asked if she could lay down a bit on the place board to think of all the ways she could practice this.
Cash is a bit shy. With his very small voice, he asked if showing courage woods be noticed. I told him absolutely! He went out and walked with his head held high. He told everyone hello and they were doing a good job. He sat with his head up and chest out. Joseph was so proud of him. We know how much courage that took. Everyone high fived him on the way back inside. Courage is hard!
Koa offered to keep watch on the squirrels. They had been fighting all day. Running from house to house. He asked them all to come over under a truce. He showed them all the acorns that were in our yard alone. He explained there was enough for everyone. That working as a team to gather was much better than spending time fighting. He laid on place as they all agreed and started gathering the acorns together.
Nelson wasn't sure of the yard decoration. So I explained the story of the grinch. He wanted a picture next to the tree. He loves to give, and the tree made him feel close to Santa!
Tonight, they all talked about what each other did. There were a lot of high five and heavy eye lids. Good night, everyone. I hope you all can take some love, patience, and caring into the world tomorrow. Lord knows we all need it.
