🎄 Support the All SIRE Horse Show! 🎄

The All SIRE Horse Show is just a week away, and we need YOUR help to reach our fundraising goal of $50,000! Each site also has individual goals to directly support the riders, horses, and staff who make therapeutic riding and equine-assisted learning programs possible.

Your donation helps:
🐴 Care for our beautiful, kind horses who work to support our riders.
🌟 Provide life-changing opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other challenges to build confidence and independence.
👩‍⚕️ Sustain the passionate staff who bring these programs to life.
Every dollar brings us closer to providing more robust resources our riders need to thrive. ❤️

Let us tell you a little more about Kallie from SIRE Spring.

♦ Breed: Percheron/Pony Cross

♦ Has been at SIRE for 1.5 years

♦ Kallie loves getting massages with the human massage guns, her favorite spot is on the both sides of her neck.

♦ Kallie's face isn't quite symmetric because of an injury as a young horse, but just like some people, her physical difference doesn't stop her from being an athlete and performing to the best of her ability!

♦ At just 8 years old, Kallie is the youngest TR herd member at Spring.

Cue the holiday music! It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Last year both sites had a giving tree with items that our herd would like to see under the tree on Christmas Day. This year our horses need their Secret Santas once again.

The Spring giving tree is located in the foyer of the office and the Fort Bend giving tree is in the helmet shed.

A couple of items on the wishlist are Steinhauser gift cards and Dawn soap (Fort Bend) or Dover Saddlery Gift Cards and MannaPro horse treats (Spring). The trees have additional items on them that you are able to purchase for the herd.

If you have any questions, please reach out to the volunteer coordinator at your preferred location. [email protected] (Spring) or [email protected] (Fort Bend)

A HUGE thank you to the incredible volunteers from Lowe's who went above and beyond to help us build new fences and install plumbing for our horses' water at the Fort Bend location! Your hard work and generosity have made a lasting impact on our horses' well-being and our entire SIRE community. We’re so grateful for your dedication and support—it’s partnerships like these that help us continue changing lives. Thank you, David, for coordinating everyone to the site, and one of SIRE’s longtime volunteers, Julia I., who helped oversee the plumbing project!

It was a beautiful November morning for our inaugural SIRE western show. Riders from four different clubs - Joyride, SIRE Spring & Fort Bend, and Lake Houston Hurricanes - joined us for this monumental occasion.

Riders competed in trail and western riding, an alternative to equitation. Having the alternative gave our riders a chance to learn and showcase new skills.

The entire show was a huge success with plenty of smiles, friends, family, and celebrations. Thank you to everyone who came out to help and support the riders. We are already looking forward to next year!

Earlier this week our Executive Director, Joe Wappelhorst, was interviewed on the EAS podcast Not Just a Pony Ride by Heartland Equine Therapeutic Riding Academy (HETRA). This podcast covers all the facets of our industry and is a great listen if you are looking to learn more about EAS.

Here is a short summary of the episode: “What’s unique about Joe is that he is not a grassroots horse person. While the passion for the services SIRE offers definitely shines through, he really specializes in the business side of being an ED. His perspective is super fresh and different from what is typical in the EAS industry...”
