Teach Your Pup the “Place” Cue! 🐶

Does your dog jump on guests? Beg at the table? Rush the door? Teaching them a “place” cue can be a game-changer! With a little training (and some tasty treats 🍖), you can teach your pup to go to a designated spot—helping to curb problem behaviors while also keeping them happy and relaxed.

🛠 How to Teach It:
1️⃣ Choose a spot (bed, mat, towel)
2️⃣ Lead your dog to it & reward when they stay put
3️⃣ Introduce a release cue so they know when they’re free
4️⃣ Gradually increase duration & distractions

Start small with positive reinforcement, and soon your pup will settle into their place like a pro!

Today is National Peanut Butter Day! 🥜 In honor of this yummy holiday, we wanted to share an easy peanut butter* recipe you can whip up as a treat for your dog. It’s made with just 3 ingredients and sure to help make your pup’s day.

*Just be sure any peanut butter you use is xylitol free! Your best bet is to purchase a PB where the only ingredient is Peanuts, as xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs.

Got a talkative pup? Teaching them the "quiet" command can help curb excessive barking while keeping it fun! Here's how:

🔔 Use a trigger like a doorbell to get your dog to bark.
👀 Acknowledge the source of the barking, then get their attention with a treat or toy.
🤫 Once they stop barking, reward them!
🗣️ Gradually add in the cue word like “quiet” and repeat until they catch on.
⏳ Keep training sessions short and consistent for the best results!

Patience + practice = a well-mannered pup! 🐶

It keeps your dog engaged and can help avoid burnout for both of you. At the end of your session, be sure to end on a positive note too (we're thinking your pup wouldn't turn down a yummy treat or two). 🦴✨
