📣Friday 8/16- STILL IN NEED! SHARE‼️
‼️San Angelo, TX! Cerena is a black female with docked tail, apprx 2 yrs old. She has been in the city shelter since June 25th but we were just notified.
🗣Shelter says she's "super friendly with a sweet soul; Cerena did very well in our playgroup with other dogs. She is an absolute doll and very sweet. She loved being able to play."
We have no other information!
📣Available through city shelter partner org Concho Paws for foster, adoption or rescue. All vetting provided & included.

‼️URGENT‼️8/12- Bo is a senior, appx 8 yrs old and needs a new foster by this weekend. His current foster is having to move in with family unexpectedly & Bo is not allowed. Super sweet boy, great with female dogs- can also be with male dogs but with careful management & monitoring and limited periods of time, he is used to being rotated. He is crate & potty trained although he doesn't love the crate & does much better with a just a baby gated area. No cats. Never been around kids. Bo has had a rough life already, original owner left him to live alone outside, isolated and then dumped him at the shelter when he got older. And now he's losing his foster home. He needs a hero.
📍We are a statewide (TX) rescue & we can bring Bo to you in TX, & parts of OK/LA/AR, so his current location doesn't matter.

Today, we celebrate our feline friends around the globe, from the pampered house cats to the resilient outdoor community cats. Cats have touched our lives in countless ways, offering companionship, joy, and a bit of mystery to our daily routines.

While many cats enjoy the comforts of indoor life, millions of community cats live outdoors, navigating urban landscapes and natural environments. These outdoor cats, often misunderstood, play a vital role in our ecosystems by controlling rodent populations and bringing balance to our neighborhoods.

However, with their numbers increasing, community cats face challenges like overpopulation, hunger, and disease. This is where Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) comes in as a humane and effective solution. TNR involves humanely trapping community cats, having them spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and then returning them to their outdoor homes. This process not only prevents unwanted litters but also improves the health and well-being of these cats.

How Can You Help?

🐱 Support TNR Programs: Get involved with local organizations that run TNR programs. Your support can help provide the necessary resources for these life-saving initiatives.

🐾 Volunteer: Offer your time to help trap, transport, or foster community cats. Every bit of effort counts.

😺 Educate Others: Spread the word about the importance of spaying and neutering cats to reduce overpopulation and improve their quality of life.

If you have found and rescued kittens, you may be wondering how to catch the mom cat. 🤔

It is super important to make that effort! Do not just scoop up kittens and move on! 🚫 Leaving the mother cat behind leads her to the exact same fate in just a couple of months.

If kittens are around, it’s very likely the mama is around, even if you haven’t physically seen her. It is not typical for a whole litter of kittens to be abandoned.

So how do you go about finding her❓Place the kittens in a trap or carrier at the location you found them. Place a set trap in front of the carrier or trap the kittens are in and bait it with food as normal. Placing a sheet over the traps/carrier creates a little “tunnel” straight to her babies!

And here’s the important part - go away. 😂 Mama cat is not coming back with a scary human lurking around. Let the kittens and the trap do the work for you. If you are able to go inside and monitor from a window or get in your car, that would be best.

Edit for clarification: Going away doesn’t mean leaving the area and the trap unattended. NEVER leave a trap unattended. It means don’t stand there expecting mom to walk in the trap with you watching. Go inside. Monitor from a window. If you are at a public location, park somewhere you can still see the trap and wait in your car.
