Our dearest Peanut.

It’s hard to find the words to honor the weight of a little life that carried so much purpose. Back in 2015, she was just a scared, tiny orphan mini filly, facing the worst of fates in a kill pen. We pulled her out of darkness, but she, in turn, pulled us into our destiny.

Peanut didn't just become a part of our lives; she is the foundation of everything. She’s the very reason A Place for Peanut exists, the quiet, persistent voice that drove us to save one life, then two, and ultimately, over 500 souls. Every single rescue we’ve ever celebrated, every heart we've healed, every animal we've given a second chance—it all started with her. She is our first and our most profound hero.

Now, as we face the heartbreaking news of her lung cancer, the time for grand rescues has passed, and the time for quiet love has begun. Giving her peace is the last, greatest gift we can offer our founder. We are letting her spend her final, beautiful days exactly where she wants to be: soaking up the sun and peacefully grazing by the pond she loves.

Please, hold her and her monumental legacy in your hearts. She may be small, but the ripple effect of her life is vast. Our love for her is infinite, and her gentle, courageous spirit will continue to guide every life we save.
