Tomorrow is July Fourth…which means fireworks! Please keep the safety of not only yourselves but your pets in mind! Here are some tips from the American Veterinary Medical Association for before, during and after the fireworks have gone off.

*We will be closed tomorrow in honor of July 4th but open back up on Friday the 5th for normal business hours*

Fireworks, picnics and other 4th of July traditions can be great fun for people, but frightening and dangerous for animals. Know how to keep your animals safe.

Happy Monday to all!
With the Fourth of July this Thursday your pets are at a greater risk of running away when fireworks go off… please try and keep your pets inside, if they have a microchip make sure your information is up to date, and if they wear a collar try and attach your phone number to it with tape and a sharpie like shown below.
Wishing you all a great week!
*We will be closed one July 4th, but will be open on the 5th*

If you’ve been in to see the Veterinarian recently, you’ve notice the bandannas given to your dog, and the toys given to your cat…these are to help your furry friend to stay a bit more calm when coming to the Vet. It may not seem like a big deal to us, but them leaving the comfort of their home, with all these new people and smells around can be pretty scary! So we use Feliway for the cats and Thunder Ease for dogs, spritzed onto the bandannas and toys. Feel free to give us a call and ask how these items can be used in your home, or even for traveling, to help your furbabies in potentially stressful situations.

HAPPY NATIONAL CATFISH DAY!
If you like to go fishing and take your dog, be sure they are safe on your trip! Make sure they have prevention to keep mosquitoes away, a life jacket if you’re on a boat, plenty of fresh water to drink, and kept them away from the fish hook! Dogs can get fish hooks stuck in their mouth, paw, esophagus, or stomach. If your dog swallows a fish hook, it's an emergency and you should take them to the vet immediately.

Happy Monday!
Please keep in mind with the hotter weather this week, that asphalt and concrete will be hotter on your pets feet! Keep lots of water available (they may even like some iced water), and if you have to take them out check the sidewalks before taking off.
Have a GREAT week and stay cool out there!
