One of the procedures we specialize in is TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO) is a surgical treatment used to stabilize the stifle joint when the Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) has ruptured. The CCL cannot heal on its own once it starts to tear, nor can it be replaced with a graft, so the surgical techniques used on dogs focus on changing the biomechanics of the knee joint itself in order to attain the goal of pain-free, stable movement. Surgery is the only option to permanently “fix” the instability and relieve pain created by the rupture.

Over the past few weeks there have been cases of possible Canine Influenza in and around New Jersey. We highly recommend vaccinating your pup against the flu. If your dog visits any of the high risk places listed on this chart please call us today to talk about updating your dogs Influenza Bivalent vaccine ASAP. Even if they are not going to a high risk place, any where other dogs are present could be a potential risk. The Influenza Bivalent vaccine is given in 2 parts. The 1st vaccine is given and then in 2-3 week would require a booster vaccine. Dog flu is easily transmitted from dog to dog and results in high fever, lethargy, coughing, loss of appetite, and a runny nose. In high-risk dogs, it can lead to high fever, increased respiratory rate, depression, and anorexia.
