This is Montego, aka Monty. He is a sweet 8 year old Mastiff, Boxer mix. He is looking for his forever. Found as a stray and the dumped by his foster because they wanted their time back. Monty is very loving, gets along with other dogs, loves to cuddle, older kids good, loves to play, great traveler, he's active and enjoys walks, not sure about cats, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative. Gracie's Dog Haven saved him from death row. Monty would love giving you that devotation he so eager to give. Can you open your heart and home for Monty so he has a forever place to rest his head.

Just a friendly reminder The All American Pet Expo is this Saturday at Kensington Metropark Playfield Center and Playfield West. The Brighton Fire Department will be there from 11am - 1pm demonstrating pet CPR, the K9 unit will be there all day long, there are dog shows at 12, 2 and 4, food trucks, contests at 11, 1 and 3, raffles and so much more.

Brighton Area Fire Authority will be at The All American Pet Expo from 11:00am - 1:00 pm teaching pet fire safety and pet CPR. You do not want to miss this!! 11:00 am - 1:00 pm is the only time they can will be there. Spread the word!

Senior dogs need your help. Will you donate your time at their pet expo happening on June 17 at Kensington Metropark from 10am-6pm? This would mean the world to them. Unsafe Foods for Pets at BBQs

Seasonings and Sauces:
Many of the seasonings and sauces we use to enhance the flavors of our BBQ foods can be harmful to pets. Ingredients like garlic, onion, salt, and artificial sweeteners (such as xylitol) can cause serious health issues in animals. Keep your pet away from BBQ sauces, marinades, and rubs, as they often contain these ingredients.

Bones:
Although it may be tempting to share the joy of gnawing on a BBQ chicken or rib bone with your pet, it’s crucial to resist the urge. Cooked bones can splinter and cause choking, obstruction, or internal injuries to your pet’s digestive tract. Dispose of bones safely and keep them out of your pet’s reach.

Processed Meats:
Hot dogs, sausages, and other processed meats are popular staples at BBQs, but they are generally not suitable for pets. These foods are often high in fat, sodium, and preservatives, which can lead to digestive issues or even pancreatitis in pets. Additionally, processed meats may contain spices, onion powder, or garlic powder, which can be toxic to animals.

Alcoholic Beverages:
While enjoying a refreshing beverage under the sun, it’s important to remember that alcohol is highly toxic to pets. Even a small amount can cause alcohol poisoning, leading to symptoms like vomiting, disorientation, and in severe cases, respiratory distress or coma. Ensure your pets don’t have access to any alcoholic drinks at your BBQ gathering.

Just over 3.5 weeks and the fun will begin. The All American Pet Expo has put together an event with you and your furry friend in mind! There will be local businesses for you to shop, to will about, get expect advice on supplements, medications and food, will be able to exercise your pet with the dog lure course, the agility course and conditioning area. The 3 dog shows, pet CPR is a must see. Let's not forget food trucks for the humans! This is a must see for the whole family. Fun to be had by all

The All American Pet Expo will be held on June 17th from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm at Kensington Metropark, 4570 Huron River Pkway, Milford Township.
