Mable is still looking a home!

Sweet Mable is looking for a furever home. When Mable arrived to us in May of last year, we knew she had a long..long.. road ahead of her. Her nails were curled into her feet, was covered in masses, and had barely any fur. She had been neglected for quite some time. We have included some pictures of Mable during intake to show the severity of her skin. The pictures of her pretty pink bandanna are from today! ❤️‍🩹Despite being itchy and in pain, this girl was sweet the moment she came through our doors. All she wanted was to be loved, and boy did she get that from our incredible staff! As time passed, our vet tried numerous medications, shampoos, and methods to help her feel better. She is on a prescription food and will NEED TO STAY ON THIS FOOD FOR LIFE - no treats, bones, or people food. JUST her food/prescription treats. This is incredibly crucial! She will most likely need to remain on medication for life. Little by little, we had small improvement. Here at the shelter, any improvement with our animals is a great achievement. She was unable to get the masses removed as the vet feared an infection would start because of how her skin was. Recently, she was finally able to get her large mass removed(biopsied and benign) and also got spayed. She’s healing up nicely, and although we would love for her fur to grow in fully, we believe our sweet Mable will always be a bit nude(she loves sweaters though!) The shelter has done what we are able to do within our capacity of care, and she is finally clear to find her furever home where she will be cherished for however long she has left on this world. Mable is a 10 year lab mix. She is GREAT with kids and would absolutely love a home with kids she can cuddle with. Mable is dog selective and has been fine around cats at the shelter. Sally is still looking for her furever home!

Sally is a 1-year-old pitbull with a heart of gold. Found as a stray and never reclaimed, she’s now looking for a forever home where she can shower her people with all the love she has to give. Though she can be a bit shy when meeting new people, once she warms up, she transforms into an absolute lovebug!

With her beautiful, expressive eyes, Sally might look a little serious or even a bit “crazy” at first glance—but we promise, she’s all sweetness underneath! She’s a loyal companion who’s been great kenneled next to other dogs and would likely do well in a home with other pups when introduced properly. She will need a home with NO cats.

Sally knows basic commands like sit, paw, lay down, and stay, and she’s eager to please. If you're looking for a dog with a sweet, playful side who might just need a little time to warm up, Sally could be the perfect match for you!

Elderberry and Huckleberry are looking for their furever homes. These 4 month old brothers are super sweet and playful! They’re a bit shy at first and will need a bit of patience in their new home (just like any animal in a new environment!!) They have lived with other cats and a dog.

To all of our amazing friends that love to bake…we need you! Our JEWELRY and BAKE SALE is coming up on 3/14-3/15. The bake sale raised a lot of money for our animals last year and we’re hoping to grow it even bigger this year. If you are able to bake something for our sale we would appreciate it!

They’re back! Thank you to the SUNY Cobleskill Canine Club for coming to the shelter tonight to walk some of our dogs and work on training with others. We are so grateful to have these students who are willing to volunteer their time to work with our pups!

Mork (4 year old Maltese Mix) and Max (5 year old Yorki mix) are looking for their furever homes. You probably remember the post from February 14th where we teamed up with Susquehanna SPCA on the removal of 20 small dogs from a residence that was overwhelmed. Mork and Max are from that residence.

They both will need patient homes that understand they haven’t had proper socialization during their lives. They have warmed up tremendously with staff, but of course will be overwhelmed in new surroundings with new people. They are good with eachother but have not been around other dogs or cats just yet.

Calling all Beagle lovers!
Lily-Bones is a 5 year old Beagle. She’s a petite girl weighing only 15lbs. Sweet Lily unfortunately had to be surrendered with another dog due to personal complications with his family needing to move. She’s SUPER sweet and absolutely LOVES being a lap dog. She’s not handling the loud noise and stress of the environment well. 😞 Despite being so scared, she still gives us kisses and tail wags. Once you sit down, she’s immediately in your lap loving you! She’s good with cats, dogs, and has lived with young kids.

She was surrendered with Larry. We would LOVE for them to stay together, but it’s not required and we’d rather see them in homes sooner than deteriorating in the shelter environment.

Larry is a 5 year old Shepherd mix (105lbs!!). Larry was adopted from ASSV 3 years ago, but unfortunately had to be surrendered with another dog due to personal complications with his family needing to move. He’s very sweet, curious, and treat motivated. We’re still learning about his personality as he just arrived back. Larry is good with dogs, cats, and has lived with young kids.

He was surrendered with Lily-Bones. We would LOVE for them to stay together, but it’s not required and we’d rather see them in homes sooner than deteriorating in the shelter environment.

Callie can seem a bit shy at first, but she’s actually SUPER sweet and flirty! She’s good cats, dogs, and kids.

She is super sweet, affectionate, social! She’s good with dogs, cats, and has been around children. She has long fur and will need a home that keeps up with brooming/maintenance.

Today is World Spay Day! All animals adopted from our shelter that are six months or older are spayed or neutered. (We also provide a refund of partial adoption fees to those who get their kittens and puppies altered.) Please help us to keep the unwanted pet population down by doing the same. Shelters and rescues are overwhelmed and doing the best we can, but we need your help!
