Good morning. Dr Sullivan and I will be attending AAEP conference today through Wednesday. All non emergency will be see after the conference and we will do our best to handle everything g on a case by case bases. Thank you for understanding, as this is a requirement for our licensing and our continued learning.

Baby it’s cold outside. Your horses actually drink more water in cold. If they are not great drinker consider warming the water, giving electrolytes, or wetting thier grain w warm water.

We will be closed today and tomm for the hurricane but open Friday depending on the roads and weather. Stay safe and dry.

This hurricane is coming so please be prepared w water for your horses. I recommend cutting their grain in half for a few days while they are in and the storms are bad. Lots of hay water and electrolytes. Stay safe and hydrated.

There is much debate over in the stalls or turn the horses out with tags. It totally depends on your individual situation. There are pros and cons to both so use your best judgement.

Again be safe.

Fly masks and fly sheet. They make them very thin for out summer heat.

BUG SEASON IS HERE!

Besides being very irritating, it's important to remember that some of these insects can spread infection and disease to your horse (and, in some cases, to you as well). Therefore, a smart strategy is to control the problem before it gets out of hand and minimize populations from the beginning.

The attached infographic contains some suggestions to get you started. Please keep in mind that there are many variations of these suggested programs that will still meet the same goals and follow the same principles.

Welcome to the practice Michelle Sexton. Michelle joins us as our new office manager. She moved from Atlanta and has past experience with the CDC and other amazing companies. She is new to the veterinary space so will need time to understand our equine lingo and terms but is hitting the ground running.
Please welcome her and be patient as she learns all about equine veterinary medicine and our clients.
