Ms. Hayzli Lou was born on November 1 at 8 lbs 3 oz. (Chunk!!!) and I am feeling pretty healed! 🤩

Although I am not promising anything for the future, I would like to test the waters and re-open my schedule to REPEAT clients only (no new clients at this time please!). So if you are a last minute planner (like me) this is your opportunity! 😂😂

I know that many are struggling with finding a groomer during this time so I want to offer this Sunday December 17 between 10-6 for BATH. dogs or FACE, FEET & TAIL dogs ONLY! I am unable to do a full haircut at this time as I will need to take a few breaks to feed the baby.

**Bath service includes: Shampoo, conditioner, ear cleaning, nail clipping/filing, toothbrushing, blow dry, brush out, perfume spritz & bandana/bow/bow tie!
**Face/Feet/Tail (FFT) service includes: all of the above PLUS shaving pads/sanitary, trimming around feet, face/head and tail.

The fam and I are FINALLY ON VACATION! 🌴

We made it to Florida yesterday and BBB will be closed until August 7 ! This week I will be answering texts/messages (slowly, so be patient 😉) but Sunday-Saturday I will be totally unplugged as the hubs and I enjoy our 6 year anniversary in the Virgin Islands 😍

Cracked Window Myth

K-9 Rico is sad when he hears our Community Service Officers or Patrol Officers responding to a call with a dog in a hot parked vehicle. According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, cracking the window isn't enough to keep the temperature of your car at a safe level. If your dog is distressed and at risk of severe injury or death, that cracked window will be shattered if that's what we need to do to save your pet's life.

It's going to be in the 90s this week. Don't leave your pet in your vehicle, window cracked or not. Leaving your buddy at home is safer, and we all love coming home to a wagging tail! If you must take your pet with you, use grocery pick-up or do it during the evening hours when it's dark.

You also need to think about your buddy's paws when taking them for a walk when the sun is blazing. Asphalt temperatures can be more than 50 degrees warmer than the air temperature. Four Paws International has a simple test you can do to make sure the ground is safe for your four-legged friend. Touch the back of your hand to the ground for seven seconds. If you can't hold it there for seven seconds, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

Update to scheduling for remainder of existing clients!

This baby girl is due beginning of November which means I will likely not be available last few weeks of October and will resume grooming again in January! Let’s get those appointments booked ahead of time (& strategically planned for the time I’ll be off unless you plan on getting them groomed elsewhere while I’m out!) The schedule will start filling up quick as school resumes in August!

So in about 14 weeks I will be unavailable. If your pup is on a 6-8 week schedule we can fit in about 2 more grooms (7 weeks each)! But these slots will fill quickly so please pre-book to ensure I can get you in!

Hi again!
So I feel like there was a lot of misunderstanding on my last post and I need to clarify a few things about closing. This has been a slow process that has been in effect for a few months, slowly letting go of my larger dogs and the majority of my clients that I know would be too difficult to groom during my pregnancy/after. If I have already spoke to you about continuing grooming for your pup then you are SAFE! The business will “fade out” naturally over the next few years, meaning the few pups I have decided to keep I have kept because they will either be moving soon, I know they may not do well with another groomer, or with my seniors I will continue grooming them until they eventually pass away. So please don’t think that I would ever just shut down the business without letting you know, personally! (If you are confused please reach out!) I would also never just cancel your appointment without telling you 😆 I am busy, but never that busy! Haha
So please, if you have a future appointment with me, know that I plan to be there!! I love all of your pups so much and I am sad to close, but know that I’m not closing immediately. 🩵🤍

Sorry I have had an absent presence for so long… we’ve been keeping a big secret (although a lot of you already know!) 😆
Our Mitchell tribe will be welcoming a baby girl in November! Due to the pregnancy and life in general we have made the tough decision to decrease my clientele to only a small handful of pups and eventually (over time) close Biscuits, Bubbles & Bows completely. This was such a heartbreaking decision for me as grooming is my passion. However, right now I need to focus on our family and this pregnancy and not feel overloaded with life. 🩵 *I have most likely already let you know if I am able to keep your pup or if I had to refer them elsewhere!!
I am beyond grateful for all of the pups I have had the pleasure of grooming over the past 7 years and all of the amazing owners I’ve gotten the chance to meet and help educate. I wish I could feel confident enough referring you all to a specific grooming salon in a centralized location but unfortunately I have not found anything comparable yet. I will keep searching and definitely let you all know when I find a good one!
Meanwhile, if y’all have had any great experiences elsewhere please feel free to share down below the name of the salon and your experience! I’ve had so many inquiries so let’s help each other during this tough transition.

Please send prayers or good vibes for my grandpa, he will be getting surgery tomorrow morning. I am currently in Florida until Thursday to be with them for his surgery but I do not have much service so I will reply to all messages when I get back home!

I apologize if you have messaged me in the last week and it took dayssss for me to respond 😅 A LOT has been going on over here and we have been just been so unbelievably busy. Luci’s school had a huge dance this weekend that consumed a lot of our time this past week or two, check out the awesome decorations we helped put together!
Next week I have 17 dogs on the schedule on top of the hubs starting his new job on Monday and having the boys/dropping off/picking up Luci from school so I ask you all for continued patience! 🙏 we got this! Our family thrives in chaotic times😆
I am currently booked until beginning of MAY! I wouldn’t typically recommend going somewhere else if your pup is due for grooming but I have no other choice at this point. 😔 I don’t want your pups to get matted. I always recommend pre-booking your next appointment!

Saturdays are EXTREMELY limited and need to be booked months in advance! If you’re able to, prebook your next two appointments! Additionally, Price increases have started!

Gracie is our dog and LOVES getting groomed. If she gets out of the house she runs straight for the salon and jumps up on my table. She falls asleep while being blow dried and doesn’t mind the process of being colored. The dye is PET SAFE, made specifically for animals and is not harmful in any way. 🫶

PLEASE TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO READ THIS VERY IMPORTANT (long) POST!!! 👀

As most of you know my husband separated from the military and has been helping me for the past few months making my schedule extremely flexible. On January 30 he will be starting his new CIVILIAN🥳 job! Although this is great for our family, it is not so great for our business. He is not only my co-worker/bather but he is also our babysitter for our 3 littles. We have hired a babysitter so I can still work a few days a week but as most of you know, childcare can get pretty pricey. 😅 We are still unsure of what his schedule will look like so I beg you to be patient with me over the next few months as we adjust. 🙏

In the 5 years that I have been grooming from home I have NEVER raised the price of existing clients. Clearly, times have changed.

I truly believe that I have always been extremely fair with my prices. To be completely honest, I, myself can not imagine paying some of the prices that I read about in my doodle groups on Facebook. I am talking $250+! Obviously those prices reflect on where those groomers live as well but I am truly at a crossroad.

Inflation is all around us and like everything else that was affected since the start of the pandemic, grooming supplies have also suffered a price increase. I decided at that time to not raise my prices and continue to provide my services, while taking the loss on my end.

So now I fast forward to the point of this post.
Price increase 😅
It just has to happen and I have no other choice unless I close the doors (or garage door 😜) on our small family business. This deeply saddens me and I don’t want to do this!

Beginning MARCH 1, 2023 I will be charging
$10 additional for my SMALL dogs. (Shih tzus, Yorkie, lhasos, etc.)
$15 additional for my medium dogs (most mini doodles would fall here and dogs roughly over 15 lbs)
$20 additional for all my doodles and large dogs. About 80% of my current clients are doodles and you all know how long they can take. Honestly, My body hurts 😩 🤣
Also,
*If your dog(s) take longer than 3 hours I will be adding on $20 additional PER hour.
If you need help understanding which category your dog falls, please reach out and ask me ☺️

Although I absolutely love every one of my clients and the relationships we have formed, I can also understand if this change creates hardship on your end and you are forced to locate a more financially suitable groomer. I completely understand and will fully cooperate with your transition by providing grooming notes if requested. I will even call your new potential groomer.

But If you need some affirmation for why you should stay with me, all I can say is that I always want what is best for your pups and I feel that every dog deserves a positive experience every time. I will always put your pups safety and comfort first. This is why I groom one family at a time and send your pup home immediately so they don’t have to feel stressed. I work one on one with them and provide extra care at no additional cost if it benefits your dog. (Ex. Specific shampoo, blueberry facials, nail grinding, etc.) because I care 💙

I know I did not have to explain all of this but I felt that you all deserved the truth. I hope for your support moving forward. Thank you for choosing me to be your groomer and if this is where we have to part ways, thank you for being an amazing client. I will always support every one of my clients/dogs for as long as you need me, I am here. ❤️

SO much truth in this post. RESPECT is a two way street that both need to learn! worded perfectly!

Not exactly true. Modoc is 7 years old and has been raised around kids and to not be food or toy aggressive. Harrison is being raised to be respectful to animals.

BUT Modoc is a dog and Harrison is a baby.

Babies need to be at all times around dogs, and not just watched. People need to understand a dog’s stress signals.

Modoc is a great dog but Harrison also isn’t allowed to on or the dogs, he’s not allowed to play with their or , he is not allowed near their ever and not allowed around them when they are .

My dogs are not expected to tolerate being annoyed. I can tell you from experience that EVERY DOG HAS A BREAKING POINT, and every dog WILL bite.

Soooo excited to see Karli’s progress over the last few months! Karli was a victim of the Covid shut down so she became severely matted. She was the most patient angel when I shaved her down (for 5 hours😅) back in September! Her mama has her on a great schedule now and she never has to worry about being that matted again! She is such a happy girl now! ❤️ also pictured is her sweet “cousin” Bayleah!!! Love these girls!!! 🥰

I hope everyone had an amazing time over the holidays!
We ended up staying in Florida a few extra days than planned 😆 and were feeling very depressed about leaving to come back to Ohio yesterday. We enjoyed the warm sun and the beautiful beach on our last morning, making it even harder to leave.

Happy NYE everyone!!!! I hope everyone has a fun and SAFE night tonight!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do NOT bring your dogs to a fireworks display! The booms are extremely loud for your pets ears and your dog will go into flight mode and try to run away! So many dogs get lost during this holiday as well as the 4th of July!

Here are some personal tips to keeping your pup safe this NYE! ↙️ 👀

* DO NOT take them to crowded/congested areas (or fireworks!)
* If your dog has anxiety meds/CBD, this is the night to USE THEM!
——->Trazodone is our personal top choice but remember that it works better if it’s built up in the system! Meaning give half the dose in the morning or previous night and then another dose an hour or two before a stressful event! (You can ask your vet for medication if your dog is nervous for loud noises/storms, etc!) we use it for Meeko during stressful times and he is grateful for it! He used to tremble but now does not stress!
*if your dog is used to a kennel, I’d recommend using it tonight, especially if left home alone! A kennel is a “safe space” for many dogs.
* let your pup out for the last time before fireworks begin! Many dogs will be frightened if they are outside and hear the booms! Some will even refuse to go back outside for days afterwards!
