Every weekend, I wash the week's worth of dirty or deformed eggs & stash them away in the fridge for the family. I'm always so impressed by the color variety, because they're so much more vibrant when wet! ❤️

(Side note: I wish I knew which hen laid that gray egg on the far left! I assumed it was a bloom & the egg would turn green after being washed, but it didn't! Super odd! 🤔)

Good news! I will be switching over to the reusable 15ct egg cartons for all customers who pick up from mine & my parent's houses, with NO need to purchase the container beforehand, just bring it back/switch it out at every refill! ❤️

(The 12ct cardboard cartons will now be exclusively used for festivals/markets.)

We picked up a variety of Marans hens (Black Copper, Wheaton, and Blue Copper) from Colibri Acres and Farm last week & they have finally started laying after their stressful lil housing transition! I'm so excited to be adding even more color-variety to yalls egg cartons!! ❤️

These big girls are finally spending their first night outside! Toulouse is still a little young to be put out but she cries when she's separated from her flock, so oh well! 🤷‍♀️❤️

Although her name seems obvious (her breed is French Toulouse), it's actually from the Disney movie The Aristocats! 🐈❤️

Not my typical boujie a$$ chickens, but it's SO hard to say no!! = 2 olive eggers, a Rhode Island red, and an Australorp are in the brooder today! ❤️

The lil OE with fuzzy feet has been real sleepy so we syringe-fed her a freshly-laid egg yolk this morning & we'll see how she holds up.

I have only been collecting 6- 8 eggs for the last few days, so I went in search of a hidden nest & found 25 eggs stashed behind the AC! 😂 I float-tested them just to be safe (so they have to go in the fridge now - infographic added to explain), but look how PRETTY these two speckled ones in the middle are!! ❤️ I THINK they belong to one of our younger hens, Harriet (her breed has feathered feet & my kids are obvs super original in their naming process, so her name used to just be "Hairy." 😂).

Looks like someone missed me - or she's just mad that I'm sitting in her spot🤣

For those that don't know: This is Crispy, our house-chicken. She lays the brown eggs with a pink-ish bloom that you'll often see in your containers. She has always had a big personality, even as a pullet, & has always used it to find a way into the house! Before the girls had a real roof, she would hop the fence every morning & incessantly knock on the front door until someone let her in. Now that they are properly contained, she just walks in through the dog door after being let out of the run every afternoon - all of this with the intention of laying her egg where she feels the safest: OUR LIVING ROOM SOFA☠️🤣
