If we had not been “wusses ” when they predicted lots of rain…..I would have been one of those sitting quietly in 1969 at Woodstock!!

It’s hard to imagine this many people in one place sitting peacefully. Woodstock, 1969.

From The Post-Star in 1972 – 50 years ago

It was a good weekend for local semi-professional sports 50 years ago.

On Aug. 13, the Hudson Falls Greenjackets defeated the Brooklyn Knights 29-26, bringing the local team’s season record to 2-0.

“Mike Schongar electrified more than 1,200 fans with many brilliant catches, one a 35-yard scoring strike from quarterback Dick Rosati,” The Post-Star reported.

Joe Grasso scored two touchdowns for the Greenjackets, and Bob Collins added one at the Hudson Falls High School field.

Greenjackets Head Coach Art Cardi was not satisfied with the narrow win.

“We should have beaten them by three touchdowns,” he told The Post-Star for an Aug.17 Report.

This is my older sister Alyce Rathbun's (93 yrs) property on County Rte 16 in Fort Ann. Her cellar has flooded once already but Fort Ann Fire Dept helped. Her daughter next door is also affected. Washington Co Public Safety Director Glen Gosnell won't do anything to help with the ice jam! She has lived there since 1949 & paid her taxes faithfully. This is endangering her home and safety!

FORT ANN — Water flowed across the backyard of Alyce Rathbun's county Route 16 home on Monday, coursing across her yard and through her neighbors' yards. It was no longer

The locals are getting together for their monthly lunch. This time we are meeting at the El Mexicano restaurant which is where the York Cabin was. It is a suggestion only, to where a crazy Christmas sweater for a little fun. After all the stress of the Holiday when you're a last moment person like me.......give me an excuse to be warm up here in snow country and look like a jerk for an hour or so..who cares!
