Cat Barn Inc **INTAKES CLOSED*** NO KITTENS!
501c3 ADULT Scaredy Cat Rescue for Socialization, Relocation, Sanctuary, and Adoption. We are NOT a medical shelter.

At Risk ONLY** Amputees, Animal Cruelty, Euthanasia! All cats must be healthy! Contact Email & Appt Only! The founder started with a behavioral challenged adopted rescued cat in 2006. This cat named "BABY" hid under the bed for 2 months! Char, the founder, did not take the cat back but let Baby take her time to acclimate to her new home and eventually Baby started being social with her and a year

later started being social with the family and later started being social with anyone. Then Char had 2 more kids & they were diagnosed with behavioral or challenged disorders which also attributed her knowledge of dealing with behavior challenges. Baby passed away July 2021 & char decided to start a rescue. OUR THOUGHTS, MISSION, & INTAKES:

Some cats have behaviors, personalities, likes, & dislikes similar to people & we should respect that not knowing where they came from or what they have been through, especially being rescued from the street, injured, or coming from a deceased owner. We strive to evaluate all supposed "feral" cats that come in to our shelter to be evaluated for a minimum of 1 week to 30 days for proper placement & behavior evaluation. We do NOT place cats to Barns that are not able to be barn cats and are NOT feral. Many cats seem to mimic "feral" behavior in the outdoor environment but are in reality scared and want to be dependent upon humans as an indoor cat & life companion. We provide a second chance for the "RESCUED" cats to be able to live out their lives in placement where they want. We do NOT support what the COMMUNITY wants; we support what the CATS want & need! Evaluation is our mission! We have found that 80% of the cats that we receive as "feral" are actually social cats and were just scared to be outside. These cats do NOT need to go to barn homes! We also provide sanctuary and enclosed relocations for injured ferals (amputees, eye enocleation, deformities, etc.). We are unable to intake medically needy/sick ferals or unsocial cats at this time. However, we do take FIV positive cats.

🚨‼️ URGENT RESCUE UPDATE ‼️🚨

Hello to all of our amazing followers 💔🐾,

This has been a very difficult post to write, and it has taken me over a year to finally make the video that goes with it. The truth is, I need to be blunt, honest, and real with you all.

The sad reality is this: not every follower is a donator. If every single follower gave just $1, this rescue would be able to continue running month after month without fear of shutting down. But that has not been the case. 😿

👉 I am coming to you now, raw and emotional, because if nothing changes… this rescue cannot survive. The cats we save, the medical care we provide, the food we buy, the barns and homes we relocate them to — it all depends on YOU, our supporters.

💔 Please don’t wait until it’s too late. These cats need us NOW.
Every single donation matters — no amount is too small.

🙏 If you believe in our mission, if you’ve ever loved one of the faces we’ve rescued, please consider donating today and sharing this post. Together, we can keep saving lives.

2023 Kitty Update!

🐾💖 Last week, my heart was overflowing with joy as I finally made it down to Tampa to visit one of our very special kitties placed at The PrideLand through our amazing partner, Tampa Bay Strays, back in 2023.

The very first cat to greet me at the door was none other than Nippers 🐱✨. Many of you may remember his story — he came to us in 2023 from a mobile home park where, sadly, the feeder had moved away and the cats were left behind. Some were even being chased and attacked by dogs 😔💔.

Through Tampa Bay Strays, we later learned Nippers was already a sweet senior, about 10 years old, and in need of true sanctuary. Thanks to the love and support of both The Pride Land and Tampa Bay Strays, Nippers has exactly that today. 🏡❤️

Seeing him again — happy, healthy, and safe — was such a heartwarming reunion. 🥹💞 He is living his best life as a cherished senior, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible teamwork it took to get him there.

Let’s give a big shout-out of love and thanks to The Prideland and Tampa Bay Strays for making forever possible for Nippers 🙌🐾💖

🐾 Good Morning, Friends & Followers 🐾

First, I want to sincerely apologize for running a little behind on updates & posts. Life has been busy with personal matters, kids starting school 🎒, and family needs ❤️.

Last Monday, we had another Barn Cat Relocation — this time for two special boys: Isaac and Big Poppa. 🐈🐈‍⬛ They’ve moved to a beautiful agriculture residential area with a wonderful new caregiver who is committed to giving them the utmost care, including ongoing preventative vet visits once they’re settled.

As I’ve shared before, many of our cats have been with us over 1–3 years, slowly becoming feeder-friendly. Isaac’s story is a special one — he came to us a few years ago from a local property already caring for barn cats as a walk-on, the cats were not accepting of him and the caregiver was unable to take on another. His first evaluation showed hope for adoption, but when he went to another shelter, he grew anxious, hissed, swatted, and reverted to fear. 😿

When I brought him back home, he instantly relaxed, head-butting his friends like nothing had happened. 💕 That’s when I knew — Isaac is a true colony cat, happiest with his familiar friends and feeder. Big Poppa is just the same, so they truly belonged together. Big Poppa has been with us since last February, whom was part of my own trapping of a deceased owner colony that was on a property where cats were showing up dead and so needed to be relocated with us.

Now, they have a forever home where they can roam freely, stay safe, and live their best barn cat life — side by side. 🏡🐾

We’re so happy for these boys and their fresh start! 🌾💛

🐾✨ Barn Cat Relocation Update! ✨🐾

Thank you to our followers for the recent donations so that we could get updated rabies vaccines for some of our kitties and full tummies! It was a huge help for the below relocation ❤️❤️

This past Saturday, we had a special barn cat relocation to a beautiful home in Brooksville! 🏡🐈‍⬛🐈

Sweet Mindy, who has been with us for 3 years, is a friendly indoor/outdoor barn cat who loves her outside time—especially chasing lizards in her spare time 🦎😸. While she enjoys the occasional overnight stay inside and affection from her caregiver, Mindy is happiest when she has the freedom to roam.

Joining her was Poe, who came to us from Tampa a year ago. After joining our free-roam colony last November, he recently paired up with Mindy in the enclosures ❤️. Poe is a feeder-friendly sweetheart, and we just knew they would make the perfect pair for this move!

Their new home comes complete with a backyard pond, ducks, and even an 8-year-old tortoise 🐢🦆—talk about a dream barn cat paradise! Mindy’s new caregiver has also let us know that she’s welcome to come inside whenever she wants a little extra love 💕.

Wishing Mindy & Poe a beautiful new chapter in their forever barn home! 🌾🐾

Note: Not all barn cats are friendly or even feeder friendly. Mindy and some of the other cats here have over time become affectionate towards me and/or my family and allow us to handle them in ways no one else can. Many of you cat feeders that follow us know exactly what I am talking about and also know this relocation like many are extremely hard for me. When a relocation like this come along; I'm going to think really hard about which cats would thrive and benefit the most from it. This relocation is like the "Ritz" compared to our true gritty agriculture setting, especially for feeder friendly cats like Mindy and Poe. Wishing love for my babies - Char

I will miss Mindy dearly! 😿

🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED 🚨

Dear friends and animal lovers — we need your help now more than ever. 💔

Our nonprofit cat rescue is facing an emergency situation. We are in desperate need of $600 immediately to cover:

🪟 Our front building $207 front bldg mthly payment
❄️ An AC unit to keep our cats cool in this intense heat. The motor went out on the one shown when we went to clean it & unclog. We borrowed $$ to get one today, but will need to recoup funds. $298.87
💉 Updated rabies vaccines for several of our rescues. $300-$400 ($20 each cat)

As of today, we have only $20 left in our rescue account. That’s it. 😿
We can’t continue to provide the care these cats deserve without your support. Every dollar counts — and together, we can keep them safe, healthy, and loved. ❤️

Please consider donating or sharing. We’re fighting every day to give second chances to cats who had none.

🙏 Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. The cats are counting on us — and we’re counting on you. 🐾

📦 We truly need these funds sent via zelle direct to our rescue account:

🐾💛 Give Them a Second Chance — As Barn Cats! 💛🐾

Not every cat is a lap cat... and that’s okay. Some cats just need a different kind of home — one where they can thrive on their terms, with a job to do and space to breathe. That’s where barn cats come in! 🐱🏡🐴

Here we believe every life matters. Many cats come to us who are under-socialized or have high anxiety, making traditional adoptions tough. Sadly, in many places, these cats are euthanized simply because they don't fit the "perfect pet" mold. 💔

But there's another way. 💡

These cats are incredible workers — natural-born mousers who help control rodent populations in:

✅ Horse stables
✅ Barns & outbuildings
✅ Farms & livestock areas
✅ Commercial properties in need of natural pest control

With patience, a warm shelter, food, and kindness, these kitties thrive in environments where they can be independent but safe. And you get a hard-working, whiskered employee in return! 🐁🚫🐾

We’ve successfully placed barn cats at four horse barns and stables just this year — saving lives and helping local property owners in the process. 🙌

📚 Help us continue to educate others about this vital option. Let’s spread awareness and offer these special cats a second chance at life — not a death sentence.
