🐾Another Pawsitive PupDate🙌🐾

Ralphie, a 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel, joined the DGH rescue in mid-September, right before the hurricanes. He was a "rehoming situation", as his family, who had him for his entire life, had to give him up due to not having enough time or resources to properly care for him.😢

🙏Thank you to his amazing foster mama, Angela Bergman for taking such good care of this adorable boy. You went above & beyond!

😁We are happy to report that this weekend, after a successful meet & great, Ralphie boy found his forever home🏡, and now has a new fur-cousin to play with all the time.

Happy Tails little guy; we are beyond excited for you and your new life!!! 🫶

🙌Good News PupDate! 🧡

Last summer, Willow, a Treeing Walker Coonhound, came to our rescue when she was found on the side of a road by a couple, who couldn’t leave her behind. Willow was emaciated with cuts and seemed to have been abandoned.😢

Her amazing finders temporarily fostered her and worked with us for vet visits. Willow was diagonsed as Heartworm postive. 🪱

Willow then spent time with other gracious fosters who continued to support her journey until the perfect family came to her rescue once again. 💪 We are forever grateful to The Cook family who, after recently loosing their beloved hound, and while still grieving, took her in, let her rest and waited for Willow to be healthy enough to begin her Heartworm treatment.

🥰We are happy to report that Willow successfully completed her treatment, and has been officially adopted by The Cooks, who’ve shown her so much love , TLC and compassion, and helped nurse her back to being a happy & healthy girl over the last 4.5 months! 😇

Willow puts herself to bed, loves her stuffed cow and stealing her fur sister's toys... but most importantly she has stolen the hearts of her entire family! 💕

🙏Thank you for giving this sweet girl a new, better life. 🫶

Hello in our DGH Community

We’ve been doing some outreach to help an owner rehome her 2 dogs; this is a Courtesy Plea:

One of our former adopters of the Black and White litter reached out about a woman in her neighborhood who is in need of REHOMING her 2 dogs, Lexy (female/intact) Boxer, 7.5 and Lucky (male/neutered) Lab/Pit/Hound Mix, 6.5 years old.
Dogs are between 70 - 80 lbs.

The owner went through a divorce, works long hours 10-12 hours a day, has a small child and no friends/family in the area to help her. The dogs are left unattended for long periods of times.
The owner has no resources to help her and lack of finances to use a dog sitter or doggy day care)

She only has a limited time left before she looks to drop them at an area shelter….so we are reaching out to see who can help?

Lexy and Lucky are super low-maintinence and more than capapble of taking care of themsleves because currently they left alone for days on end (they have access to the home that is heated, with access to food and water that the current owner leaves out for them, with access to a backyard/lanai area with little grass).

One of our volunteers met the dogs, and said they are both very sweet, not aggressive, need more exercise and stimulation.

Ideal if they find home together but recognize that might not be possible.

Please comment or message us if you can temporarily Foster, or Foster to Adopt or adopt one or both of these sweet babies who want nothing more than human attention, love and engagement.

Millie went out last night and hasn’t been seen since. Millie is a former Dog Gone Home Rescue pup. Millie has a collar on, but her tags had fallen off. She is microchipped.

Check out our girl Dusa, being such a good girl while being out on the town. She’s definitely a social butterfly.
She enjoyed a couple hours at Sims Park yesterday, made a friend w a young boy there. Today she made friends at the Vets office, and was soo well behaved. After her Vet appointment, she enjoyed lunch at Fitzgerald’s Irish Tavern, where Dusa made another new friend.
If you’d like to meet our lovely girl, Dusa, come out and join us at the Nauti Oar tomorrow, 11/14, for some Music Trivia, laughs w the team, and love from Dusa!!

…and we have another Foster Family request…we have this beautiful Dobie girl, Dallas, needing a foster family. Dallas happens to be the sister of our awesome boy Kobe, who we adopted out several months ago.
Dallas was born 7.12.23, Blue Doberman, female, not yet spayed. Friendly w other dogs w proper intro. Dallas still has some puppy behaviors, chewing…so she’s a bit mischievous. She is house and crate trained.
We’re looking for a foster for a couple weeks, a month, or until adopted.💞🐾

Check out this beauty, Medusa. We are in search of a Foster Home for Medusa. Originally found as a stray, owners were found, however, we find out Medusa is living in a crate 16-18 hours a day. The owner doesn’t have time for her. Medusa is a 2 yo Pitsky, utd on vaccinations & spayed. She knows some basic commands and is dog friendly.
We’re looking for a Foster family, for a couple weeks, a month, until adopted…we’ll take whatever we can get for this girl.💞🐾
