Great 2nd day at regionals ❤️ some amazing riding in big classes!

Sarah Bradbury has done an incredible job with her horse and they had a mistake free 3rd level test so proud of how far they have come in such a short period.

Kristi Woods-Foltz had two great rides on her horses. Rainy freestyles are my favorite and she did a great job in nilas first regionals. Shagall was awesome with beautiful moments and held his own in a huge class 🦄 so proud of them!

Cassandra and Flower had a really great PSG with so much talent in the near future!! Amazing riding.

Two more days of classes 💃🏼

Wow you are so lucky! I hear that phrase everyday. My response is always yes I am I am the luckiest girl in the world. What people don’t see is everything that had to happen for me to be “lucky”.

I believe there is a part of being lucky that is truly luck but there is also a big part that is luck we create.

I have been on this journey a long time and wouldn’t be here without a lot I mean a lot of people, and a lot of horses. Every person that I crossed paths with has helped me. I picked a village of people that I have listened to and have helped guide me. I also have ridden countless horses where everyone has taught me something different.

I have worked tirelessly on getting better everyday I ride I am striving to be better. I want to be better not just for myself but mainly for my horses. I believe what makes this sport hard is being able to see the horses as individuals. I ride 8-10 horses a day and each horse is their own individual. They have their own personality, stiffnesses and feelings. Being able to quickly adapt to their needs is what makes an ok rider to a great rider.

Thank you to all the people that have helped me on this journey it’s a lifetime of learning 🥰 my biggest thank you is to every horse who has given me the opportunity to ride them, learn from them it has been an honor.

Thank you ❤️

Friday Training Thoughts:

As a coach and observer, one of the biggest challenges is recognizing that each horse is unique. No one-size-fits-all approach! Adaptability, adjustment, and active listening are key. What worked yesterday may not today, and what suited a horse in '95 might not for a 2017 companion. This sport demands flexibility and an open mind. Seek a coach who embraces diverse experiences and understands the need for a flexible training program.

As a passionate equestrian, I often reflect on the invaluable lessons I have learned from my four-legged companions. Riding isn't just about mastering top horses in fancy lessons; it's about the untamed spirit of the pony that tests your determination daily, the ex-western horse turned pony club champion, and the mare that carried me from backyard shows to around the country.

True balance, timing, and skill are not honed in the confines of a lesson ring but in the exhilarating ba****ck races around the pasture and the adventures of all-day trail rides. These experiences, shared with horses that challenge and inspire, shape us in profound ways. They teach resilience, empathy, and the importance of building a genuine connection.

I've had the privilege of riding many exceptional horses, each one a stepping stone on my journey. But it's the spirited ponies, the unconventional champions, and the trusted companions that have left the deepest impact. These horses are the unsung heroes, the ones who mold us into the riders and trainers we become.

So, to all parents eager to put their kids in top lessons on top horses, consider the beauty of allowing them to explore the uncharted territories of horsemanship. Let them revel in the ba****ck races and the all-day trail rides, for it's in these moments that they discover the true essence of riding – a blend of joy, challenge, and profound connection.

Here's to the remarkable horses that shape us, and to the endless adventures that lie ahead!

Navigating the Dressage industry is tough and we often question if it’s all worth it…
Can I continue in this industry? The world of dressage is a realm of elegance, discipline, and unwavering dedication, but it's also undeniably demanding. The challenges, both personal and professional, can sometimes cast shadows on our passion.

**Doubting Abilities**

Doubting our abilities is a natural part of any journey, especially one as rigorous as dressage training. The industry demands not just skill, but also resilience, patience, and a boundless love for these magnificent creatures. In the face of setbacks and financial pressures, questioning our worth as trainers can be all too common.

**The Hardships We Face**

The dressage industry, like many others, presents its unique set of challenges. From finding clients and maintaining a steady income to dealing with the physical toll this profession takes on our bodies, the hardships can feel overwhelming. Moreover, the ever-evolving standards and competition make it hard to keep up, leading to self-doubt.

**Finding Strength in Community**

Amidst the struggles, there's solace in the support of our fellow trainers. Sharing our stories, doubts, and triumphs can create a sense of belonging. We learn that we're not alone in our fears and uncertainties. The dressage community becomes a source of inspiration, reminding us that every seasoned trainer once stood where we stand today.

**Embracing Continuous Learning**

Dressage is an art that demands perpetual learning. Embracing this learning curve can transform self-doubt into an opportunity for growth. As trainers, we must invest in ourselves, honing our skills, attending workshops, and seeking mentorship. With knowledge comes confidence, enabling us to face challenges head-on.

**Rediscovering Passion**

When doubts cloud our path, it's essential to reconnect with the passion that led us into this world in the first place. Remember the joy of witnessing a horse and rider harmonize, the thrill of a breakthrough moment, and the satisfaction of nurturing a partnership. Let these moments reignite the fire within, reminding us why we chose this path.

**Moving Forward**

Questioning our abilities doesn't diminish our worth as dressage trainers. Instead, it's a testament to our dedication. By acknowledging our doubts, seeking support, and nurturing our passion, we can navigate the hardships of this industry. Remember, every stride forward, no matter how small, is a testament to our resilience. Together, as a community bound by our love for horses and the art of dressage, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way.

*Keep riding, keep training, and never forget the extraordinary impact you have on the lives of both horses and riders.*

This post aims to provide encouragement and support to dressage trainers facing self-doubt. It emphasizes the importance of community, continuous learning, and rediscovering passion as ways to overcome challenges in the industry.*
