She will easily blow away all requirements to star this year and I can't wait to see that fabulous mammary as a 2nd Fresh!! Sake will be one to watch in a year or two. This yearling is the complete package, minus the production this year. Her lines never milk well their first year, especially when they have singles, and Sake was hit by CVV which made it even worse. She kidded a fabulous buck kid and a half decomposed something which I am sure didn't help her lactation. Still, she sports her sire's mammary type and boy is it socked on there! Look out next year, her lines are killer 2F!!! Sake will be bred to CAPRICE ACRES WB OLEANDER *B 82 GGA for POLLED Americans.

Still a very immature yearling, VooDoo has some growing to do, especially in the milk department. She has excellent structure and soundness, she just needs... More. I am looking forward to watching this girl glow up.
VooDoo will also be AI'd though her buck has not been chosen yet.

It's been a good long while since we have introduced the milkers in the herd. There are quite a few youngsters who have not been introduced since they were kids themselves. Time to remedy that. Linear Appraisal 2024 is in the books!

We had a phenomenal day yesterday, the does looked amazing and certainly strutted their stuff!

We had 23 does and 3 bucks appraised; only 5 of those animals are over the age of 4. With such a young herd as mine is I didn't expect high numbers.

Once again the ladies proved me wrong and I couldn't be happier!!

Most notable, that after 4 years of appraising an EX90, 7yo Jupiter broke her streak and hit a 91!! We also have 2 NEW EX 90's!!! am beyond proud of my herd and where they are going!!

Linear appraisal bright and early in the morning! We have a few last minute touch ups as I did not get the chance to shave all 26 goats, 23 does and 3 bucks. Just a few of my show does are clipped, but udders, feet and the whispies are almost done and we are so excited!

Been busy with things, but I finally got Little Man's X-rays and boy did he do a doozy!! I don't know how he has not made a single squeak since he broke it. His joints are unaffected thankfully, and he has to be in a hard cast for 4 to 6 weeks while remaining calm - no small feat for any goat much less a 3 month old kid. Oh well, he is perhaps the best patient ever and is doing great!

No love for the older does at the show yesterday, and that is okay. But this one... This one right here is something special, has been since day 1 and I am so very happy she freshened the way she did. My highest milking yearling, on a single doe kid, is now permanently on the show string. She is everything I wanted and more from that cross.

And that's a wrap folks!! Kidding season 2024 is complete. Our last doe to freshen was 2yo FF QMF IV'S REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE who freshened beautifully with a set of triplets, 2 bucks and a doe. Her udder is absolutely beautiful and I can not wait until she comes fully in!! It was a fantastic year but extremely busy and I didn't get the chance to post kids as they were leaving almost as soon as they were born! We have a very limited selection of doe kids left and one, possibly 2 buck kids and that will be it for the year.

Who knew that kidding out and training 8 needy yearlings would be so time consuming. 😂 Phew! All yearlings freshened very well with only one truly needing help. Timpani went 7 days overdue with a single 11lb buck kid. He passed through her hips just fine, but her poor little hooha needed some help stretching. She recovered perfectly and is steadily coming into milk. We were able to run our 2nd milk test just 4 days after our last yearling freshened and we are eagerly awaiting those numbers. Poundage was excellent and I am quite pleased with the youngsters. Only 5 of these girls are over the age of 3 this year. I will do formal intros in the coming days, but here are some sneak peeks of some exciting youngsters.

1st milk test is in the books and I am once again in awe over my little herd of youngsters. Only a few older does freshened this year as the focus was on the youngstock, most of these girls are 3 and under so these numbers have me very happy.

We have some extremely nice doe kids available. We also have quite a bit of Polled kids this year in both Purebred French and American.

I also have 2 POLLED American bucklings from DRAMA and FOUR.

Our last senior doe has kidded! This evening Rascals Ranch Candy Sweet Tart 4*M 87 VVVE kidded with MASSIVE buck doe twins! These kids are 15lbs each!! That's what she gets for going almost 5 days late. I had to help pull the first as her head was so big, and the buck came backwards, but both are doing very well and have polished off their first bottles of colostrum. Only a handful of yearling FF and one 2yo FF left to kid!

Our second yearling to freshen with buck/doe twins is QMF DENALI'S ALASKA RANGE (QMF VICEROY'S LADY DENALI 4*M 87 VEEV X QMF NOX'S PERSEUS *B 84 GVV) and what a beautiful mammary she sports!! The buck is two toned chamoise, and the doe is a very flashy broken chamoisee and she is POLLED!! Granddaughter of superstar SG QMF GODDESS OF THE NIGHT 2*M EX90 VEEE, this little one has that famous udder! Just 16 hours fresh here this mammary is oozing potential. It's high, it's attached, it's smooth all the way around, and it milks. I expect big things from this little girl. That is once she has figured out that nothing is going to steal her bo***es away. The buck is reserved, the doe is available.

After making me pull 3 all nighters, I threatened that if there was no change today I would pull out the lute and get the ball rolling. I fed the babies at 6 and did a quick check only to find Rylee ready to deliver. Minus contractions, and absolutely as dry as could be. As soon as I check I can feel feet so instead of making her wait longer I decided to go ahead and pull, and I am glad I did. TRIPLETS as is Rylee's usual. First kid is a beautiful sundgau doe with wattles. 2nd is a huge sundgau buck with a huge star on his head and a splash of white underneath. The final kid was way down deep and twisted up on himself and was actually delivered backwards. A thick two Toned buck. 30lbs of kids for Breado this year. Good grief girl!! She absolutely rocked in the colostrum department giving over half a gallon of liquid gold! Rylee is 10 this year and is looking just as good as ever.

It has been a busy couple of days. I had a nice post all typed up about what was happening and who was doing what when Facebook decided that I was done and just shut down and lost my entire post. Gahhh. So without any ado, here's the just of what happened.

On the 16th we had a battle of the does with OG and Phoenix literally kidding at the same time. I got OG's first, then Phoenix's, then OG's 2nd one. That was fun. 2 🍒 for OG. One single huge 🍑 for Phoenix. Then, that evening Fuzzy decided it was her time and also kidded with twin 🍒.

This afternoon 2yo QMF IV'S EAST OF EDEN 3*M presented us with a pair of twin boys. These boys take after their sire and are nice and wide. Eden wasn't progressing like she should so a quick check to see what the hold up was and I had my answer. 3 feet and a crooked head. After some pushing and pulling and rearranging of a head I was able to get the first one out, a huge cou claire. As I am drying him off I look over to see placental remnants before the kid so I helped again and pulled the two Toned boy. Both boys have eaten and are getting nice and dry before moving to the new nursery in the barn.

Welcome to the MadHouse! We have some really stellar doe kids available, Purebred French and Americans. A few Americans are POLLED! These girls are solid and well grown, still on a lambar 3x a day and eating hay and grain. We also have 4 buck kids available, all are American, 1 is POLLED. Our 2 American Jr herdsires will also be available AFTER appraisal.

Wooooo. Running on fumes here! Yesterday was a doozy for sure. At 10am milking, after a very relaxed 8am check, not one, not two, but SIX does have goo. A lot went on so I will just have a simple post this time. 1st doe was 2yo Rockstar OG. Just like last year, OG gave me TWO beautiful doe kids. It was an easy kidding for her. 2nd doe was everyones favorite 2yo Cafe. She gave Doe/Buck twins. Another simple, yet a bit long kidding. 3rd doe was 3yo 2F Sweettart. She took her sweet time but eventually blessed me with another set of TWIN does, these girls are solid black. 4th doe was Yearling Nebula, and that poor girl was miserable lol. Two strapping buck kids from her. They will be wethered. 5th doe was unexpected. Yearling Pearl. She was not due until the 7th, so once again one of my girls went early. That is unheard of on my farm lol!! And guess what? Another set of TWIN does!!!! 6th and final doe technically kidded today, just after 3am. This was a hard one. No progress after pushing for 20 mins and as soon as I reach in I know why. I have a kid that is upside down, and I have a tail that is trying to come out. Took almost an hour of searching, but I finally found the back legs and pushed the butt back and got both hind feet out. Pulled and twisted and out the 1st one came. No sooner do i get that one going when out popped a giant kid next with no issues. And guess what.... TWIN DOES!!! Yay Ladies!!! Total so far: 13 does freshened. 25 kids in total. 10 bucks. 15 does. 21 does left to kid. We have some high quality doe kids available!!

Still unsure about the new digs, but loving the 3 bale buffet, the newly combined Jr and Sr pens seems to be weathering the storm quite well. The Feb/March kids could care less as they are always stuffing their faces and couldn't be bothered enough to even acknowledge my presence. Alpines......

Our first yearling is in the kidding pen!! QMF Hangover's Lullaby was due the 11th and it seems tonight is the night! 30 min checks are under way!
