7 days Cafe, really? You went 7 days overdue... You are lucky they are cute!!

On the 17th, at 8 am I knew Cafe was getting closer, but she had no goo and there were no contractions yet, so I decided to jusr watch on the cameras. Next check at 9 she was at the hay bale eating. Final check was at 10 and I spy kids in the Sr. pen. Dang it!! It was an easy labor and delivery for her I assume as both kids were almost dry when I walked in. Kids are taken care of and Cafe assumes her spot at the end of the milking line like she hadn't just had a year off. She also gave me just under a half a gallon of colostrum. These kids are sired by Oleander and the doe is POLLED!!

Then, this morning (the 18th) 4yo 3F Drama decided it was her turn. Now anyone that knows Drama knows she is on the smaller side (not so much anymore, she hit a growth spurt!!) So it was a complete SHOCK when she delivered a single stunningly massive 12lb BUCK KID!! She made it look easy. And then came the colostrum, and she restocked my stores. Exactly half a gallon for just that single buck kid. Man I can't wait to see what that perfect udder can do this year!!

Finally, by 5pm I knew it was almost go time for the last doe that was due. By 7pm 8yo Bungie kidded with buck/Doe twins who look very much like Doe B's pair. A large Cou Claire buck, and a gorgeous chamoisee doe.

Seems Chronos left his mark. All of his kids have excellent bone, level top lines, and are just stunning!!

Early mornings and late nights.

4 days ago, 6 days before her due date, 3yo 2F Void kidded without any notice. I fed the babies their last feed at 4am, by 10am there was a kid just standing in the Sr. pen. A quick check and it is not the doe we were expecting, but Void. And then I see it. A blob behind a round bales. I quickly run over to check and it is cold and gone. As I picked it up not one but two placentas were underneath this kid and both were attached. Speaking with one of my vets it appears that the last kid died in utero, placentas separated and Void went into labor early. We are lucky to even have one. A strapping buck kid. It took him a full 3 days before it finally clicked and he came around, but he is healthy and thriving.

Then, Saturday evening, as we were coming out for chores, I knew Doe B was getting close. She and another doe were fighting so I seperated her and got to milking. With no progress after chores I took a feel to find a thick sac and a kid having troubles making it through. It was a tough pull for Doe B but we managed to bring a decent sized buck kid into the world just as it was turning midnight. With no progress after.30 mins I once again go in and find a kid at the bottom and upside down, this one is also in an extra thick sac. It takes me a few but I manage to break it, flip the kid, get the head between the legs and pull. This one is a bit bigger than the last so it was a pleasant surprise to find out this gorgeous red chamoisee is a DOE!! Does B gave me just shy of a half a gallon of golden colostrum. All kids are fed and warm.

We are still waiting on Cafe who is 4 days overdue, Drama has hit her due date today, and Bungie is due in 2 days. We are getting close!!!

Agathina....

You look more and more like your momma every day. I sure do miss that girl, but you are doing a fabulous job at filling her shoes. And I must say, pregnancy looks good on you!! I can't wait to get you in the ring this year.

Well lookie here!!!

Yesterday at 6pm on the dot I helped pull a massive single 10lb buck kid from Royal. She was 2 days overdue and this big man came out more than ready!!

I have a long list of wethers so this year there will be but a very select few intact bucks available. This is one of them. This kid is long, level, and very well balanced. He is also POLLED!!! He also has the cutest wattles ever. And did I mention he is extremely flashy? Roan Belted Broken Chamoise.

His dam is SG(p)QMF ALAKAI'S ROYAL LEGACY 3*M 86 VVVV. Daughter of BEARLY EMPEROR ALAKAI. Royal is a slower maturing doe but like a fine wine has just gotten better with age. This year she did not freshen with an extremely large udder but give her a few weeks and I am sure she will rebound brilliantly. Her last lactation was 249DIM 2804lbs 99f / 76p.

Hisnsire is CAPRICE ACRES WB OLEANDER *B. A young up and coming sire that we are really liking the kids off of. Ollie sports some really exciting bloodlines such as LA SIERRA WAHOO, ROEBURNS LEGACY, PLEASANT-GROVE SUPER STANDOUT, SUNSHINE RHEMA REPRISE.

On her due date!!!

My girls vary rarely go on their due dates, they seem to like to cook their babies a bit longer than I want lol. What can I say, I'm impatient. 😆 Today however, 4yo QMF CADR BELLADONA 4*M 88 VVEV decided to release her hostages. TRIPLETS!! 2 bucks and one drop dead gorgeous - and I believe POLLED doe! A textbook kidding for the most part, Baby Bell had these 3 out in less than 30 mins. She put Domino's to shame tonight. Way to go Baby Bell!!

Both bucks are reserved, the doe is available.

Doe kids ahoy!!

Since the doe fairy is firmly camped here I figured I'd put up some non set up photos. Kids are hard enough to photograph as it is at this age lol. Eating will have to do, it's as close to still as they get right now.

We have Purebred French and American.
Polled and disbudded.
All dams are on DHIR and will be appraised.
PM for pedigrees and info!

Age ain't nuthin' but a number!!!

She's still got it!! 10 years old, 8 lactations, an impressive history... 2nd generation EX90, SG QMF GODDESS OF THE NIGHT 2*M EX90 VEEE.

Would you look at this 10yo?! Man what a doe! The longevity of this line just amazes me. Daughter of 14yo QMF BACK STREET ALLIE 1*M EX90 VEEV, Nox is looking amazing as an aged doe. Still standing tall on all four feet and still sporting a secure yet spacious mammary, this girl is aging like a fine Brandy.

Nox gave me TWIN DOES this year sired by CAPRICE ACRES SSO VLADIMIR *B, a son of PLEASANT-GROVE SUPER STANDOUT. One doe is retained and the other is pending pickup.

Way to go Heifer!!

The last doe due this go round decided to kid just as I was 2/3 of the way through morning chores. Just before noon I laid eyes on 2yo 2F QMF Fire & Ice 4*M(p) 85 VVVV and new it was go time. In true Heifer fashion she popped out the first kid without a peep. Not 30 seconds later here comes the 2nd. Again, 30 seconds later a 3rd!! Holy cow doe!!! Not a peep and barely a push and Heifer has given me 2 DOES and a BUCK!!!!! Pretty sure they are all POLLED as well! This girl really out did herself! I am really looking forward to getting this young doe in the show ring again this year. They loved her last year as a yearling FF with a single.. She just had 3. Watch for this girl in the ring this year!

I have a week break now. Up next will be VooDoo with AI babies due on the 12th.

We have a Three-fer!!

With an impending ice storm on its way I had a sneaky suspicion that I would see a doe or two getting ready to kid. What I didn't expect, was it to be THREE does in full labor. Two 2yo FF and a 3y3F.

The first to kid was 2yo Cup. The kid was large and she was having a bit of trouble getting the big head through. After some tough yet gentle pulling a 9.5lb single POLLED sundgau DOE was born. Cup is fine, not even a tear, but I expect she will be sore the next day or two.

Next to kid was the 3yo, Dream. In hindsight she should have kidded first, but we didn't know until I physically checked her after seeing amber goo but nothing else. Upon exam she was found to not be dilated but a finger, and the amber goo was the busted sack of the kid right there at the exit. It took a good 20 mins of slowly dilating her only to find another big head plugging the exit. Now my arms are already tired from pulling Cups kid so it took just about everything I had left to pull another huge single 10lb POLLED cou blanc DOE!! Again, though a very tough pull, Dream did not tear but will be sore. Both of these girls will get some good pain meds tonight.

Then, just as I sat down to take a bite of food and a sip of coffee, I check the cameras to find 2yoFF FKN TEDDY starting to push. I get out there in time to catch baby 1 as they hit the ground. So much for dinner and coffee. Not 10 mins later Teddy starts pushing again and delivers her 2nd while standing. 2 drop dead gorgeous POLLED DOES!!

I am super thankful for tough does and healthy kids. There is one more doe due right now, Heifer, and then we have a bit of a break before the next is due with highly anticipated AI babies on the 12th.

Woo has it been busy these past couple of days. Yesterday (Monday) Timber went into labor and kidded a strapping set of buck doe twins. The Chamoisee is the doe, the Cou Blanc is the buck. Pretty sure the doe kid is spoken for ( 😉 ), but if you are looking for a nice POLLED PUREBRED FRENCH herdsire, I have your man. With Timber's stunning production and solid type, combined with the great Addi-Hill on his sires pedigree this boy should carry some extremely milky genetics.

Then comes today. (Tuesday) I knew once I looked at the cameras this morning we would have not one but two does kid. Sure enough, around 3:00 Calypso goes into hard labor. There's no progression so I check and am astonished to see two giant feet followed by this giant head! It was a hard pull but Calypso managed well and popped out a monster 11.5lb buck!! When I say huge, I mean HUGE. Again more pushing and again no progression and one look told me I must've hit the repeat button because I had to pull another 11.5lb buck! Again Calypso was a champ and after making sure she was good off to the house they went.

Then, as the hubby and I were cooking dinner I checked the cameras and sure enough caught Fuzzy picking the ground. I head out and find her down and pushing. She quickly and easily delivers two beautiful and healthy DOES!!! Fuzzy has really outdone herself with these two. They are both dilute, lavender or chocolate is yet to be determined, but one is a two tone chamoisee and the other a cou claire. The cou claire is retained.

2 more girls!!!!

Last night just before midnight SG QMF Goddess of the Night 2*M EX90 VEEE kidded with twins. The first was bunched up and trying to come out all at once and I knew by the color of the fluid the kid was in distress so I quickly popped the sac, straightened the legs and pulled. A huge chamoisee with a bit of chrome. With the first kid stressed I decided not to wait and checked for a second. That one was way down deep and all balled up. I slowly helped pull thay one and out she came. Chocolate laced with chrome. The first doe kid is thriving but it is a bit of a struggle with the 2nd. We believe she was oxygen deprived and squished. She circles to the side her ear flops (that is starting to stand up) and is a little unsteady. She is eating and trying so we shall try as long as she does.

A beautiful set of TWIN DOES for QMF Smoke on the Mountain 4*M. Shine had a textbook delivery of these beautiful, and large, pair of ladies. Both look to be frosted and the Chamoisee appears to be polled. Shine is a large doe herself and spit these two girls out within 20 seconds of one another. Just long enough for me to get the first kids face wiped off and suctioned. At least she kidded easily.

Up next will be SG QMF Goddess of the Night 2*M EX90 VEEE. She looks to be in early labor. It may be a long night for me and I am ever thankful for my cameras.

Kidding season 2025 has begun!!

Frenchies for the WIN!!!

QMF RYLEE’S CINI-MINI 2*M went into labor on day 148 and gave us a trio of beautiful kids sired by ADDI-HILL LONO SOOTHSAYER *B. 2 does and a buck!! The first two were textbook and out within 30 mins of one another, the last one she stalled on and after pushing for a 3rd time with no progress I checked. I was greeted by a pair of hocks. There was plenty of room to push the kid back in and pull those hind legs out so a quick rearranging and out popped number 3!

Both does are reserved.
The buck may be available after he unfolds a couple of days and I have a chance to evaluate him. Cini is looking amazing this year and gave me just over a half a gallon of colostrum from a not very full yet udder.

Can we all just take a minute to bask in the greatness that is Grandma? I swear, this girl makes 14 look amazing!!! She may not have been the heaviest milker, but she has produced some excellent daughters and granddaughters.
