The 1st Shiawassee Dairy Goat Expo was a success! It was a long, exhausting, and fun filled day as we made the trek north for this 2 ring 1 day show. We took 4 srs and 4 jrs. Rings were run tight so not many photos were taken of the jrs and only a few of the srs. To highlight:

2yo 2F Hiefer stood mid pack in one ring and closer to the back in the other. She is lacking body capacity this year as everything she is getting is going to that udder. Her DHIR is where it's at this year.

2yo FF Teddy was right there with Heifer. She's all there, just needs maturity. And a growth spurt.

3yo Calypso won her class in one ring and was 2nd in the other.

4yo Agathina....
1st place 4yo in both rings.
Reserve Grand Champion in ring 1.
Grand Champion in ring 2.

Boy oh boy has it been wild and crazy busy these past several weeks. The girls are in full swing and looking amazing! The kids are growing like weeds and are already turning heads. All does have kidded, and we are 2 milk tests into our new ITP-02 test plan and have been more than happy with production so far!! First cut hay is on the ground (section 1 of 3) and we should be bailing today. It'll be quite nice to bail in 70° weather when it's usually around 90°! Our first show is next weekend and we are looking forward to getting in the ring with these young girls! Ahhh, so busy!! I am hoping to keep this page a bit more updated now that kids are well grown.

We have ONE 2025 American doe kid and TWO 2025 POLLED American buck kids left. Solid kids sporting packed pedigrees with proven performance records in both production and type.

Wow what a long few days.

It started the day of the 25th. I knew coming yearling Cause was in early labor. By evening chores I could see her progressing but knew as with all FF it would be slow. I check cameras every hour and sure enough at 400 am she was down and starting to push. I walk into the barn and see two feet. Good, toes up. I run to get towels from the parlor and by the time I got back, the two front feet are sticking out. No head. I reach in only to be greeted with a back. What the heck?! Where is this kids dang head? Deep down between the legs is where it is. It took me an hour of maneuvering, the hubby picking her hind end up, only to have the head get stuck behind her cervix. I was almost at my breaking point and put a call into my vet. While waiting I decided to go in once more. A lottle.more maneuvering and I was able to get the head around and one leg heading in the right direction. So I pulled and out popped a very much alive buck kid!! As of today, Cause is 100% and has fallen in line with the rest of the older does like a pro. I am thankful these Atlas daughters are wide!!

Then, the early morning of the 27th around 2am, buyback 2yo doe LT (QMF LITTLE TRINITY) delivered an easy set of buck / doe twins! Textbook labor and delivery. Doe is retained.

That afternoon we were heading into the barn to grab some kids to be disbudded when I see SG QMF DROPS OF JUPITER 3*M EX91 isolated and down. She was due but showed no signs of impending labor. To my surprise she is stringing and just about ready to push. At 4:40pm, Jupiter delivers her buck / Doe twins. The buck is extra large and thick and looks exactly like his dam, the doe is very feminine yet is extremely reminiscent of her sire ADDI-HILL LONO SOOTHSAYER.

Down to the last few does!!!

This afternoon, just after 1pm, 2yo 2F Spook kidded a strapping set of TWIN bucks. Both are already spoken for and will be excellent 4H wethers. Spook was purchased as a kid to bring in outside French lines, but she did not take to AI after 2 attempts this year, and as surprising as it sounds, we just realized she had a small parrot mouth as well. She was appraised last year and it was not noticed!! NONE of her kids have been parrot mouthed so it could just be a fluke. Spook will be looking for a new barn soon so if you want a nice family milker she will be available.

Next up is one of two yearling FF I have this year. QMF IV'S CAUSE I SAID SO is in early labor andnis looking fantastic for her first time.

7 days Cafe, really? You went 7 days overdue... You are lucky they are cute!!

On the 17th, at 8 am I knew Cafe was getting closer, but she had no goo and there were no contractions yet, so I decided to jusr watch on the cameras. Next check at 9 she was at the hay bale eating. Final check was at 10 and I spy kids in the Sr. pen. Dang it!! It was an easy labor and delivery for her I assume as both kids were almost dry when I walked in. Kids are taken care of and Cafe assumes her spot at the end of the milking line like she hadn't just had a year off. She also gave me just under a half a gallon of colostrum. These kids are sired by Oleander and the doe is POLLED!!

Then, this morning (the 18th) 4yo 3F Drama decided it was her turn. Now anyone that knows Drama knows she is on the smaller side (not so much anymore, she hit a growth spurt!!) So it was a complete SHOCK when she delivered a single stunningly massive 12lb BUCK KID!! She made it look easy. And then came the colostrum, and she restocked my stores. Exactly half a gallon for just that single buck kid. Man I can't wait to see what that perfect udder can do this year!!

Finally, by 5pm I knew it was almost go time for the last doe that was due. By 7pm 8yo Bungie kidded with buck/Doe twins who look very much like Doe B's pair. A large Cou Claire buck, and a gorgeous chamoisee doe.

Seems Chronos left his mark. All of his kids have excellent bone, level top lines, and are just stunning!!

Early mornings and late nights.

4 days ago, 6 days before her due date, 3yo 2F Void kidded without any notice. I fed the babies their last feed at 4am, by 10am there was a kid just standing in the Sr. pen. A quick check and it is not the doe we were expecting, but Void. And then I see it. A blob behind a round bales. I quickly run over to check and it is cold and gone. As I picked it up not one but two placentas were underneath this kid and both were attached. Speaking with one of my vets it appears that the last kid died in utero, placentas separated and Void went into labor early. We are lucky to even have one. A strapping buck kid. It took him a full 3 days before it finally clicked and he came around, but he is healthy and thriving.

Then, Saturday evening, as we were coming out for chores, I knew Doe B was getting close. She and another doe were fighting so I seperated her and got to milking. With no progress after chores I took a feel to find a thick sac and a kid having troubles making it through. It was a tough pull for Doe B but we managed to bring a decent sized buck kid into the world just as it was turning midnight. With no progress after.30 mins I once again go in and find a kid at the bottom and upside down, this one is also in an extra thick sac. It takes me a few but I manage to break it, flip the kid, get the head between the legs and pull. This one is a bit bigger than the last so it was a pleasant surprise to find out this gorgeous red chamoisee is a DOE!! Does B gave me just shy of a half a gallon of golden colostrum. All kids are fed and warm.

We are still waiting on Cafe who is 4 days overdue, Drama has hit her due date today, and Bungie is due in 2 days. We are getting close!!!

Agathina....

You look more and more like your momma every day. I sure do miss that girl, but you are doing a fabulous job at filling her shoes. And I must say, pregnancy looks good on you!! I can't wait to get you in the ring this year.

Aggie is due April 4. First buck is reserved.

Well lookie here!!!

Yesterday at 6pm on the dot I helped pull a massive single 10lb buck kid from Royal. She was 2 days overdue and this big man came out more than ready!!

I have a long list of wethers so this year there will be but a very select few intact bucks available. This is one of them. This kid is long, level, and very well balanced. He is also POLLED!!! He also has the cutest wattles ever. And did I mention he is extremely flashy? Roan Belted Broken Chamoise.

His dam is SG(p)QMF ALAKAI'S ROYAL LEGACY 3*M 86 VVVV. Daughter of BEARLY EMPEROR ALAKAI. Royal is a slower maturing doe but like a fine wine has just gotten better with age. This year she did not freshen with an extremely large udder but give her a few weeks and I am sure she will rebound brilliantly. Her last lactation was 249DIM 2804lbs 99f / 76p.

Hisnsire is CAPRICE ACRES WB OLEANDER *B. A young up and coming sire that we are really liking the kids off of. Ollie sports some really exciting bloodlines such as LA SIERRA WAHOO, ROEBURNS LEGACY, PLEASANT-GROVE SUPER STANDOUT, SUNSHINE RHEMA REPRISE.

On her due date!!!

My girls vary rarely go on their due dates, they seem to like to cook their babies a bit longer than I want lol. What can I say, I'm impatient. 😆 Today however, 4yo QMF CADR BELLADONA 4*M 88 VVEV decided to release her hostages. TRIPLETS!! 2 bucks and one drop dead gorgeous - and I believe POLLED doe! A textbook kidding for the most part, Baby Bell had these 3 out in less than 30 mins. She put Domino's to shame tonight. Way to go Baby Bell!!

Both bucks are reserved, the doe is available.

Doe kids ahoy!!

Since the doe fairy is firmly camped here I figured I'd put up some non set up photos. Kids are hard enough to photograph as it is at this age lol. Eating will have to do, it's as close to still as they get right now.

We have Purebred French and American.
Polled and disbudded.
All dams are on DHIR and will be appraised.
PM for pedigrees and info!

Age ain't nuthin' but a number!!!

She's still got it!! 10 years old, 8 lactations, an impressive history... 2nd generation EX90, SG QMF GODDESS OF THE NIGHT 2*M EX90 VEEE.

Would you look at this 10yo?! Man what a doe! The longevity of this line just amazes me. Daughter of 14yo QMF BACK STREET ALLIE 1*M EX90 VEEV, Nox is looking amazing as an aged doe. Still standing tall on all four feet and still sporting a secure yet spacious mammary, this girl is aging like a fine Brandy.

Nox gave me TWIN DOES this year sired by CAPRICE ACRES SSO VLADIMIR *B, a son of PLEASANT-GROVE SUPER STANDOUT. One doe is retained and the other is pending pickup.

Sired by Munchin-Hill l Nautilus, I couldn't be happier! The buck is large and in charge and the doe...... She is simply stunning!!! VooDoo is looking amazing and has settled right into the milking routine.

I am thankful for healthy does and healthy babies.
