Yankee Golden Retriever Rescue We excel in re-homing senior Goldens and dogs of any age who have orthopedic needs.

YGRR is a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization which provides veterinary care and permanent new homes for Golden Retrievers from the United States and internationally. Our page highlights previously adopted Goldens from our program, and occasionally current residents and upcoming events It's our goal to help local dogs of any age find loving families in New England. All our Goldens live at our kennel/headquarters 'Riverview' until they are adopted.

Hi there! My name is Annie, and I’m a sweet 2-year-old golden retriever with a big heart and a little bit of nervousness. You might call me “Anxious Annie” at first—but don’t worry! With the right family and a confident doggy sibling by my side, I know I can become “Amazing Annie” in no time.

Here’s the thing: I’ve never lived in a home before, so new things can feel a little scary for me. But do you know what helps me feel brave? Another dog! I absolutely need a confident, kind pup to be my guide. A buddy who knows the ropes will help me learn that the world isn’t so scary after all. Together, we can sniff around the yard, play in the sunshine, and share cozy naps.

Update on Chandler! He is now at Yankee, recovering from his surgery. We're also very close to hitting our $10K goal! For anyone who doesn't know about Chandler, Chandler is six months old and was recently surrendered to us after he was tragically hit by a car. He is currently at Angell Memorial in Jamaica Plains where he is undergoing surgery to repair his spine. This unexpected event has led to Chandler needing critical care including, emergency room admission, surgery, CT scans, MRI's, X-rays and various medications. The costs for Chandlers treatments are expected to be steep and are estimated to be between $10,000-$15,000. While we are still awaiting more precise details after his surgery, it is clear that Chandler's journey to recovery will be challenging and costly. We are reaching out to our community and animal lovers to ask for their support for Chandler in this critical time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us cover the expenses of his surgeries and care, ensuring that Chandler can return home to heal and play as he once did but also be able to have a long life. I love to roll on anything I find interesting. My nose works OVERTIME, all the time. Sniffer McSnifferton should be my nickname.
