I hopefully will be at Woodstock Feed on the 3rd weekend of March for the up coming sale... I have so many beautiful chics, teeny boppers and almost hens.
I also have several Roo's that I am willing to donate to the cause. I have learned so much with my silky birds and having a Cool older Roo for your girls is where you want to be.
The Roos that Im donating are Beautiful and young and too READY to procreate. I have too many sweet girls that need an older Roo to teach them the way of the birds and bees!
Last year I had several of my young hens to have their hip joint or leg muscles traumatized by over breeding.

This has to be one of the craziest turn of events in my chicken palace...
My silky hens just decided to become BROODY... over ROCKS! They collect them from the preditor barrier a where we also put river rocks over the inside mesh! Now I can rake up a ton of river rocks!!! What do I do?

I know that many of you will totally get where I'm coming from...many will not and just think I'm the crazy chicken lady.
I have been slowly working on my silky chicken flock. My husband Sam...built and helped me get my Silky pen finished and ready for my new silky girls back in March and April. For those who dont know me or Sam he has been fighting stage 4 cancer. He was
In the final stages of his treatment with chemo and radiation at this time. He would NOT back down and we along with my kids who are all grown and have a life of their own came and helped us finalize and complete the Fancys Chicken Palace Silky Pen!!! YAY
Well these little short VIDEOs are the results of all the work and LOVE put in to their very own pen.
My very First beautiful silky hen was mated and tortured by the older roosters in my all-in-one pen. Thats what started all this and her name was Sparkle...she died and was broken from the big roo's. I vowed then to separate my silkys from the regular big all in one pen and chickens.
Mr. Brown (chocolate) the babies daddy did really good! He and their momma's all came from Amber Anderton's Acres farm! The little ones peeped and hatched today. I know this is a long post but I just had to let everyone know just how grateful I am for a loving husband and wonderful kids...who helped me heal my broken heart after loosing Sparkle.
This will be one of many posts on my Silky journey.

Hurricane Francine didn’t stop the ceremony and celebration! It was hot and wet but I could not have asked for a better turn out for Kyle and Ashlyn’s wedding on Saturday. I wanted to thank my sisters Linda Ingram Robertson Wendy Wes Morrison and Angela Ingram Gremaux for all the support and help! To my bestie…Tricia Latham for showing up and showing out! The Brides family The Burks went all out. And for loving and caring for Mason our newest grand! To our grandparent partners in crime Larry and Sue Butler Dutton for your devotion to our new additions! (Scarlett and Elliott)
This year has been hard physically and emotionally unsure. As a family we have taken the road less traveled and it has been long.
God has been good to us and we have had great things happen.
We have had a Baby Shower for Scarlett and Elliott. A Bridal Shower for Ashlyn Staggs and a beautiful wet wedding!
Thank you friends and family for being there and supporting our family in ways you never expected this year! I’m only going to post a few pictures because I want to give the Bride and Groom a chance to show the joyful event!
This is my Family and I love them so very much!

My best hen Henny Penny surprised me today. She was a little slow but I thought she was napping. I noticed that a part of her crown was purple. I started watching her a little more closely and her gait was off. She had that penguin waddle going on.
I have never had the experience of one of my hens being egg bound but that was my thought. She slowed down and stopped in the midddle of the chicken run and out came this stuff from her.
It did not have a smell. But seemed that a lot of fluid came out too. There was no shell around the discharged stuff and it was very pliable. It looked like an alien was born.
So looking at the picture what do you think it is?
I gave her a warm bath with Epson salt in it and a little bubble cleaner too.
Her back side was red and seemed to have some inflammation. Henny Pennys lady parts were fine…no mites or lice at all. So after her warm bath Henny seemed to feel better…walk better and in general feel better. I gave her some wormer paste and some antibiotic and as of right now she seems well. I will update in the morning.

I have some really handsome bantam roosters for anyone who would like them. Some are frizzled and they are gorgeous and make beautiful frizzle chicks. Message me for pick up location. I have tried to sell them but it is really hard right now. People are cutting back and trying to watch their money…I understand!

This little fellow is so BEAUTIFUL! He has a brother also but brother is more solid black than the silky frizzled mottled characteristics…but they both have BLOOMED WAY TO EARLY! My poor girls…

Birmingham Alabama needs to utilize these Palette Shelters…there are so many people who need a place to transition their homelessness…you never know what might happen in your life…Illness, injury, age finanical isssue, job loss. The list goes on and on.
If you or your family need food… get HELP! Please reach out to Grace Klein Ministries a nondenominational group…they have a hub at Morgan Methodist church. (At exit 1 off 459)
Morgan Methodist offers a Clothes Closet. There many ways to get help there. Mothers in need of things for your baby... diapers & wipes, clothes etc...They have other church’s that they can hook you up with the food distribution sites in our area that work with us.
If your family can volunteer on site packing un packing food that would be awesome or how about your youth group or groups in general at your church look for motivational volunteer work for your groups…we need help!
Since Sam and I have been working with Grace Klein Food Ministries our hearts have been blessed. But we have also become aware at the waste of food that goes on in our society. Popular grocery stores and restaurants and vendors have stepped up to end hunger by donating excess food that goes to waste and the landfill in our state, city, town!
You could also volunteer to be a food rescue unit to these restaurants like Sam and myself.
(we are on a health issue break right now but plan very soon to start back up) we have seen many other situations that would really humble your heart too if you witnessed them!
We need to LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS and help
them by volunteering.
when I saw this video it just brought all these thoughts and emotions up... thank you for listening to my plea for volunteering at GKM...The main idea was on the same plane.

I have a full blooded Polish Roo that I need to rehome. He is spunky and ready to Procreate and make precious little spunky chicks!
I have too many Roosters still. I had offered him FREE but changed my mind and kept him last go around while down sizing my flock. I have totally changed my vision for my little chicken farm and would like to re-home him.
