…Update… Afternoon class was lots of fun too and also very generous! …

Mrs. Perry’s ECDC classes brought donations for the shelter. We were all out of treats and cool toys. We also got a monetary donation in the cutest ever envelope. We talked about how to care for our pets in the winter and animal safety. I can’t wait for the after noon visit!🐾

Groot is a good boy. He has been neutered and vaccinated. He loves going for walks and playing with the dogs he has met. He is active. Behavior with cats unknown. Groot is tired of me locking him up and leaving him at the shelter everyday. His dog friends have found Furever homes. Groot would love a good home for Christmas with people and perhaps another dog sibling to call his own. Can you imagine having all that love to give and being locked up for hours in a 8 by 6 cage with food and water and a blanket. 💔🐕‍🦺🐾

Available for adoption. He was neutered this morning and vaccinated for rabies. Adoption fee reduced to $20.00 thanks to donor covering neuter costs.❤️He will be adoption ready. Neutered and he has parvo/distemper & kennel cough and been wormed plus will have rabies vaccination. Walks well on a leash. 🐾 He will be ready to go home! Groot wants a home for Christmas.

We have had a supporter offer to pay for his neuter if that is holding you back from adopting.

Neuter appointment is set for Tuesday 17th.

This is Groot. We have no history on him before he came here. We are guessing between one and two years old. He has had two parvo/distemper vaccinations a kennel cough vaccination and been wormed. He is intact. He has got along with all the dogs he has been exposed to. Groot loves walks and people. Has not been tested with cats. He is a very good boy. Groot is tired of being at the shelter and would very much like his own home for Christmas. Groot is happy to see me every day but hugs me when I leave as if to say please don’t go. 🥺🐶🐾.

Kansas Game Wardens wanted to give a public notice that some geese have migrated into Kansas carrying Avian Influenza. If you come across a migratory bird or raptor acting abnormal, please report it to KDWP biologists. KDWP may not collect or investigate each report due to staff availability. Many times, nature is allowed to take its course without intervention. Please do not handle any birds that appear sick or injured or take any sick birds to any zoo facility.

Also, northeastern Kansas wildlife rehabilitator, Operation Wildlife, is not accepting any sick or injured birds at this time due to Avian Influenza.

Groot is approximately 2 years old intact male and has had parvo/distemper and Kennel Cough vaccinations and has been wormed. He has loved playing with all the dogs we have had at the shelter so far. We haven’t had any other males during his stay. He is a very loving boy. Groot is available for adoption or rescue thru Hugoton Animal Shelter. Groot would love a home of his own for Christmas! 🐾🎄🏡

Luna the last of the puppies dumped in September was adopted today!!! All of these unwanted puppies got good homes and all are so wanted❤️🐾🏡 Luna got her Christmas wish🥰

…Update… Luna got her home for Christmas she was adopted today 🥰. Groot is still in need. He so wants a family and yard of his own.

Luna is a 5 to 6 month old intact female who has had 4 parvo distemper vaccinations loves other dogs and human attention. Dumped around the last of Sept. Her sisters were adopted into good homes and she would like a home of her own for Christmas.🎄🐾 Groot the beautiful black boy with a short tail is approximately a year old he has had 1 parvo distemper vax and would also very much like a home for Christmas. Someone taught him to sit pretty for the camera too.📷🎄🏡. These two awesome pups are available for adoption or rescue thru Hugoton Animal
shelter. Please share and help these two find Furever homes.
