Foaling season is around the corner. Most breeding contracts offer a live foal guarantee, unfortunately sometimes that’s not enough. PROTECT your investment.

💡Most of us know to insure a horse when it's on the ground, but did you know you can get Prospective foal coverage once your mare checks at 42 days?!
‼️ You can select to insure your foal for 7, 45, or 365 days post foaling depending on the policy you choose!

⬇️ Here's a great example of why to take advantage of this kind of coverage!

▪️You breed your performance calf roping mare to a nice stallion for $5,000. The embryo is transferred to a recipient mare to enable you to continue competing on your performer. The cost of the transfer and use of the recipient is $3,500. The recipient is called in foal by a vet and you get your Pro-Foal policy for $8,500 to cover the total investment. Six months later, the recipient mare colics and dies. You call your insurance agent at Plains Horizon Equine Insurance and report the incident. The amount of your $8,500 investment is paid out by the policy.
▪️ Most breeding contracts offer a live foal guarantee. What if that foal ends up foaling fine and 24 hours later it turns out to be a dummy foal, or is born with a life threatening defect or malfunction that took a few days to show itself.
