I learned a week ago today upon walking into the store front, that I no longer held a place of employment. Due to no fault of myself or you loyal clients, that you all have become family. But, only because of a pay issue... in which I kept kept the utmost respect, dignity and professionalism in my departure because of you. 😁
Please accept my utmost apologies, for your inconvenience at this time and let me thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you for just shy of 11 years of being part of your family, helping raise your fur babies and watch your two legged children leave for college. It has been an honor! Some of you I've had the pleasure of working for you for 13 years or more.

The last two years have been challenging, with all of the stress and change. I thank you for your patience, understanding and still being so loyal. Thank you to the diligent clients, in which got online and completed Google reviews, so the store front would stay open and vendors would sell products. We can only wish him well for allowing us to stay and in hopes he finds his dreams come true with his business.
It will take a few more weeks, before I know what exactly the plan is and how to execute it, to accommodate everyone... even if that means, your fur baby is more comfortable elsewhere, unfortunately.
I have everyone's phone number and will reach out after this Saturday. You are more than welcome to send a message to me on this page as well.
Thank you for everything,
Theresa.

I’m sure you have heard about the respiratory illness circulating on the media affecting our dog friends.

Due to a new uprise in a respiratory virus, I have implemented new procedures in my salon to help keep your dog and my other clients dogs safe and healthy. This is a serious illness that I do not take lightly. Thankfully, I have not heard of any of our pet friends in the area having this illness at this time. However, please read below:

-This respiratory virus has been circulating for around 2 years according to my research with my veterinarian. With a recent uptick in cases. It is an airborne virus that works much like human cold or flu. Spreading is made possible by droplets in the air. Not necessarily direct contact. Almost a doggie covid! We went through covid, treat them the same way right now!
-If your dog has been boarded , went to day care, a training facility, etc within the last 14 days, we ask that you reschedule your appointment at this time and quarantine your dog for 14 days.
-If your dog has been around any dogs that do not live full time in your home that have any symptoms of a respiratory illness (coughing, sneezing, eye discharge, nasal discharge), we ask that you reschedule your appointment at this time and quarantine your dog for 14 days.
-If your dog has a new cough, sneeze, eye or nose discharge, we ask that you reschedule your appointment at this time and take your dog to the vet immediately. This illness is best managed with quick response by veterinary care. After infection, pets must be quarantined for 30 days after initial symptoms.
-Please come into the salon on time to your appointment. This allows us adequate time in between pets to disinfect areas properly with RESCUE veterinary grade disinfectant. If you see another family with a dog in the lobby, please wait until they exit to enter.
-No dogs not within the same household will be allowed near each other. I have moved the salon around in order to keep distance between dogs.
-If your dog has any respiratory symptoms while at the salon, they will be sent home immediately.
-Please plan for prompt pick up.

Please let me know immediately of any schedule changes! I know this can seem very overwhelming and scary. But realistically most dogs need groomed. It is not just for aesthetic reasons, but for their overall health as well.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please reach out if you have any further questions or concerns regarding your future appointments.

DID YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD NOT POUR COLD WATER ON AN OVERHEATED DOG OR PUT A WET TOWEL ON THEIR BACK‼️

HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO…

Animal lovers, never make the mistake of throwing cold water on an overheated dog or putting a wet towel on his back. You will see the opposite effect. Due to the cold, the veins contract and due to the high temperature (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood clot, which makes the blood thick and viscous. Due to the combination of the two, the heart can no longer get the blood and the organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen. The result is a very slow but very painful death.

If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, he will still die.

🚨First give lukewarm water to drink, then cool the soles of the feet and chest/lower abdomen with a damp towel. Then put the dog in the shade on a damp towel!!

Do the above with Luke warm water, but put ice in the feet and re**um.

Acaras, Oscars, Plecos, and Tetras. Oh my! I'm wrapping up my first fish order as the new owner and I am excited to say the least. Deadline for the order is 10am Thursday morning so if there's anything you would like to see in the shop next week, comment below and I will do my best to get it ordered in time! The rest of the list is a secret, so you'll want to swing by and be ready to see some things I've never seen in person!

Order is in! I will pick it up Tuesday 4/25. I will post when they arrive in the shop. See you then!

To my beloved grooming clients and friends, it's been a fantastic 10 years! The saying.... All good things must come to an end. 🤔
Not here, NO WAY! I can't leave y'all!
Please welcome our new store owners Evan Dennis and Lisa! Store looked AMAZING in just a few short hours of their hard work till the wee hours of Saturday morning, for their opening day. 😃 Things are changed around a lot, so it will be a little bit of a shock the first visit.... bare with me, it will take a little longer for turn around times right now, as I'm grooming and doing the phones/schedule.
It's time for that spring cleaning... including your pups! Let's give Evan and Lisa a big family welcoming! 🥰

Copied from another groomer!

A note from your dog groomer:

I’m tired. My body hurts everywhere. I have hair splinters in every or***ce of my body. I have to regularly see a chiropractor/massage therapist just to keep my body healthy enough to continue doing my job. What I (we) do isn’t easy. We don’t just hang out with your dogs and have a grand ol puppy party.

What we do is hard. There’s a reason why you pay us to do it, and it’s because you know that it’s hard and don’t want the hassle of doing it yourself. This is our livelihood. This is how we pay our bills and feed our families (my fur babies to be exact). We understand that times are hard with the economy and money is tight. It’s the same way for us too. We are individuals trying to make it in this world, just the same as you are.

We take our time to ensure that your animal is kept comfortable and given the best quality of care that we can give, so please don’t rush us. Circumstances are different for each and every dog. Your perfect dog that has never shown you it’s teeth doesn’t like being in a strange area with someone other than their owners touching them. You tell us that you brushed your dog thoroughly and that there are no mats, but we find mats in the areas that you didn’t realize needed brushed. Your matted dog is most likely going to leave with irritation or nicks and that’s not intentional. We never want to hurt your dog.

Services and upgrades that we recommend to you are not because we’re greedy. We recommend them for the betterment of your furry friend. When we suggest a timeframe to come back for another appointment, it’s not because we want you to continuously spend your money, but because we know the outcome of owners who wait too long to bring their dogs back.

The puppy you brought in for the first time (with a picture of exactly how you envision them) isn’t going to look the way you pictured. Your puppy is experiencing so many new things and we’re trying our best to make it positive for them. Similar concepts apply to senior pets.

The comfort and safety of your pet is our number one priority. You may want your dog to be left long and fluffy, but sometimes that’s not what is best for them. We don’t shave your dog because we want to, and we don’t do it because we’re lazy. De-matting your dog is hard on them and hard on us. Trying to brush through mats that are down to their skin is inhumane and damaging to their hair/skin.

The price we charge, again, is not because we’re greedy. We only see a slight percentage of what you pay. Our tools need maintenance in order for us to provide our best quality of work. We have to buy new tools and equipment because over time, they wear down. We purchase products that assist us so that we can ensure your pets come back to you looking wonderful, smelling great, and feeling like your favorite childhood teddy bear.

We appreciate all of our loyal customers who are understanding, caring, and patient with us. We are thankful for our clients who stay by our side despite our flaws and bad days.

I’m tired. My body hurts everywhere. But, I love what I do and I love your pets. Each day, I wake up and choose this job because it brings me joy. I’m a work in progress who is trying to improve every single day for the sake of you, your pets, and myself.

With love,
Your dog groomer 🐾
