The Animal Hospital of Humble is a full service animal hospital that provides general medicine and surgery for canine and felines. The wonderful and dedicated staff genuinely cares about giving your furry family member the highest quality veterinary care. The hospital is fully equipped with in-house laboratory, pharmacy, radiology and prescription diets for you pets needs. We truly believe, a healthy pet is a happy pet and we are here for all your veterinary needs.

Those wise eyes have seen years of loyalty, love, and muddy paws — and now, they deserve gentle, focused care. 🖤

As dogs enter their golden years (typically around 7 for large breeds, 10 for small), their health needs shift. What used to be a spry little hop might now be a careful rise off the floor. And while it’s tempting to chalk it all up to “just getting older,” sometimes those changes mean they need a little help.

🩺 Here are a few signs your senior pup might benefit from a wellness check:
• Hesitating to climb stairs or get in the car
• Slowing down on walks or needing more naps
• Stiffness when getting up or lying down
• Changes in appetite, weight, or bathroom habits
• Behavioral changes like confusion or anxiety

Running toward the camera like a superstar 💨… but don’t forget:

💨 Brachycephalic breeds (like Frenchies, Pugs, and Bostons) can struggle to breathe — especially in heat, stress, or during intense exercise.
They’re more prone to:
• Overheating 🥵
• Snoring (adorable but serious) 😴
• Breathing issues that may require surgery in severe cases.

🧊 Vet Tip: Always keep them cool, avoid overexertion, and never leave them outside for long in the summer. Know the signs of distress: heavy panting, blue gums, collapse = immediate vet visit.

🐾 Boston Terrier Puppy Health Tip: That Snorting Isn’t Just for Drama — It’s a Lifestyle. 😤🎭

Boston Terrier puppies are known for three things:
1️⃣ Big eyes
2️⃣ Bigger personalities
3️⃣ Snorting like tiny cartoon pigs in bowties 🐽🎩

But here’s the real deal — that adorable snorting, snuffling, and reverse sneezing? It’s part of being a brachycephalic breed (aka flat-faced cuteness with some built-in breathing quirks).

💡 Keep them cool (they overheat fast), avoid intense exercise in heat, and don’t laugh too hard when they reverse sneeze like they’re summoning a demon. (It sounds wild but it’s harmless — usually.)

And no, they don’t need an exorcism — just a gentle neck rub and less drama from your vacuum cleaner.
