Born in 1948, Ozzy Osbourne rose from Birmingham’s working-class streets to become the “Prince of Darkness.” As lead vocalist of Black Sabbath, he helped birth heavy metal with albums like Paranoid (1970) and Master of Reality (1971). His solo career took flight in 1980 with Blizzard of Ozz, featuring “Crazy Train” and Randy Rhoads’ innovative guitar work. Subsequent albums like Diary of a Madman (1981) and No More Tears (1991) solidified his place in rock history. He launched the Ozzfest tour, introducing heavy metal to new generations. Known for outrageous antics and a unique stage persona, Ozzy also gained global fame via the reality show The Osbournes. Despite health issues, he returned in 2020 with Ordinary Man. Ozzy is revered for shaping metal and surviving against the odds.
